Mars opposite Ascendant in synastry: does it mean violence?

Hi guys!

I am still searching online for the meaning of the sinastry, that I have with somebody, who is texting me a lot right now. I have just found that some astrologers believe, that Mars opp Ascendant in synastry means physical violence. Whats your experience with Mars aspects?

We have more than one:
his Mars opp my Ascendant, his Mars square my Sun, his Mars conj. Uranus, his Mars conj. my Neptune, my Saturn trine his Mars ...

Well, I am not aggressive, I swear. I like strong feelings, but violence is clearly not my thing. I am a bit worried about this Mars more than about the Pluto-Venus stuff...

Thank you!

Sorry, I'm not seeing Mars in the 7th. It looks like you've used the European symbol for Uranus, which looks like the glyph for Mars, with a dot in it.

It looks like you've duplicated your own chart for him.

Can you check and revise them, then we'll take another look.

Hi waybread, thank you a lot. Sorry for the wrong chart. I did it again, thats our synastry (astro.com). He is red, I am blue (our sign is Virgo, my AC is Gemini, his AC is Virgo) :pouty:

I hope, now it works.
Thanks again!

PS I also put here our chart from another site (i am outside).

7th house significations include open enemies
7th house Mars opposition your ascendant
so you are wise to think over the situation

No, it does not mean violence. My Asc 17° Virgo is opposite my wife's Mars 20° Pisces. We have nothing close to violence in our relationship. Astrology of birth charts gives default subtle energy influences not determinations of future behaviors or outcomes.

Assuming the Asc figure in question is accurate enough, this inter-aspect elicits involvement by the Asc person with the Mars person who will tend to guide action/response. In other words, it is an activating aspect with an influence that could run the range of enjoyable and healthy to irritating and prone to conflict, depending on the character and temperament of the people involved and on the rest of the synastry, especially the inter-aspects with the Mars.

I agree that Mars in the 7th wouldn't mean violence-- unless there were other strong chart factors involved.

I'm not convinced that you and this guy are a good match, however. Bascially I'd like to see at least some of the following aspects:

suns sextiles or trined

moons conjunct, sextiled or trined.

favourable inter-aspects between Venus and Mars (For example, her Venus trines his Mars)

Good inter-aspects with any of the above, plus the ascendants.

The oppositions definitely indicate interest and contact, but can be stressful over time.

Sometimes a midpoint composite chart will give a different and more promising picture. There are several types out there. I generally use the midpoint composite.

The Astrodienst charts are the most legible, but any chart needs to have the planets' degrees large enough to read. (If I enlarge the horoscope manually, I lose the resolution.)

Thank you guys for helping me with the chart! I now made also our composite. What do you think, any bette signs for this relationship?

You can imagine, that I already have my doubts, otherwise I wouldnt ask so much. I am just very attracted and in the same time afraid of his intense behavior (very open, the totally persistent "go for it" type).

Lou, I'm not getting a happier read out of the composite. (Unless you have his accurate birth time, I won't consider the houses, and then the moon may move around a bit.)

In a composite chart, the sun is the identity of a relationship. Venus indicates love and affection, so ideally Venus is in a favourable aspect to the sun or conjunct it. The moon says something about your emotional compatibility and ability to form a home together.
A Mercury conjunct sun or well-aspected is good for communication.

I'm just not picking up such things in your composite.

Sun square Neptune indicates some unreality about the relationship. It's not what it seems or what you hope.

Mars-Pluto opposite moon can indicate real power struggles.

And maybe that's what all his texting is about. He may be more into domination and control. Right now you may be an enticing challenge to him. But an actual relationship looks like trouble to me.

Thanks, waybread! His birth time is maybe +/- 30 minutes, but things are not changing a lot in our composite/synastry.

Do you see anything in my natal chart that may attract such men? I've had problems with jealousy and control so many times. And its always nice and easy at start! :pouty:

Uranus in the 7th house can indicate relationships that begin and/or end suddenly. Uranus squares your sun, so you may also feel the need for a lot of change in your life. Ditto with moon square Mars. Jupiter on the cusp of your 7th house is normally beneficial.

Consider the significations of Mars - then decide

Mars is burning and drying, malefic, masculine and nocturnal
Mars controls force, wars, robbery, screams, violence, the loss of property,
whoring, banishment, exile, alienation from parents, captivity, corruption of women,
abortions, sexual intercourse, the loss of good things, lies, vain hopes,
violent theft, banditry, plundering, disputes between friends,
wrath, fighting, verbal abuse, hatred, lawsuits, shouting,
violent murder, slashing and bloodshed,
attacks of fever, boils, burns, imprisonment, torture, courage, false oaths

generalisation is fun
but unreliable
because
it'sentirely dependent on the condition of the individual natal charts

True.
Which aspects are disturbing in his case?

I would say Sun Conjunction Pluto, Moon Opposition Venus
and Moon Square Mars.

Am I right? I googled a bit
our forum rules state that
require confirmation whether you have their permission to discuss their natal chart

The birth time is maybe +/- 30 minutes, but things are not changing a lot.
So you are saying this is your natal map
and that maybe the time of birth is +/- thirty minutes
On a birth chart the ascendant degree changes EVERY FOUR MINUTES
and so
plenty can change with this birth map
i.e.
IF born only approxiamtely SIX MINUTES EARLIER
then

ascendant would have been late TAURUS
NOT early Gemini

Do you see anything in my natal chart
that may attract such men?
I've had problems with jealousy and control so many times.

It was about his birth :joyful:
My birth time is correct, I got it from the hospital.
I put my natal chart in this post again
.
Some of our members are hospital nurses who told us
that the medical team are focused on the wellbeing of mother and newborn
and not on any clocks or watches
and so
the time of birth is noted AFTER the event
fifteen, twenty minutes or more, sometimes hours afterwards
so

birth times are often rounded up or rounded down
so

although medical records are a good place to begin
the time is not entirely precise
and
as in this particular case
a few minutes may make all the difference

keep in mind as well that
clocks and watches are not foolproof
sometimes are slow or fast
and we begin to realise why astrologers preferto validate the time
with rectification
to check
