30° Asc & huge 6th/12th house

Hi everyone,
I've just had a look at my solar return chart for this year and discovered this 29.56° Ascendant in Aries (almost in Taurus). I've heard that the last degree of a sign can either mean the sign in its purest quality or in its weakest - but what should I make of it in an SR chart? I'm afraid it might mean that I have to give up my own business.

I'm also baffled by the huge 6th and 12th houses spanning two signs intercepting Aries and Libra. Does this mean I will be (even more) unassertive than usual) and have to serve others? Saturn, Mars, and Moon in Virgo in house 6th seem to support the idea that this year is not going to be professionally enhancing or financially healthy.

You have calculated your chart using the default on astro.com of placidus and I use Equal House system and am a modern astrologer. Lots of people that come into Astrology get their free charts calculated at www.astro.com and the default ‘house system’ used is Placidus and think that’s just the norm and all that there is……..BUT that is just the tip of the iceberg. You can change the default on astro.com in Extended Chart selection to Equal house and a few more.

Throughout the forums but mainly in natal astrology there are two main branches Placidus (unequal size houses) v Equal House (whereby each house is same size) but lots more……. For more information on these go here.

It's only with study and research will you be able to assess where your planets are deposited and in which houses... thus see which 'glove fits'

So in placidus SR Asc falls in 10th house and in Equal falls in 9th house
29' of any sign is called critical degrees. the purest quality of a sign is the beginning first 0'-5' in my mind not the end.

I can't help with intercepted houses or signs because they don't apply with Equal house -- so maybe another member will answer this one.

Your natal north node is conj SR IC in cancer suggesting for this 12months your Lessons are connected to family matters and home roots. SR N Node is conj SR MC suggesting that people will be around you workwise or publicly that will help you learn certain Lessons connected to work Cappi MC.

Venus in 4th house SR (Equal) suggest beautifying the home roots or decorating and SR Venus conj natal Asc suggests beautifying your appearance and presentation mode, perhaps new hair style/colour or clothes becoming more Leo in style, reds in particular.

The house in which the Sun falls in the SR chart is the birthday month's forecast and influence, and each house after is the following month, since the Sun transits at the rate of one sign or house per month. Each house is treated as events in that month, and the sign and planet ruling the cusp influences the outlook for that month. The chart is used like a clock, with 12 months on its face instead of 12 hours. As the Sun conjoins or aspects other planets in the SR, it will generate events

Actually, technically, Aries and Libra aren't intercepted, Taurus and Scorpio are (the 12th house starts at 0 Pisces 32, so 32 minutes of Pisces are in the 11th, and ends at 29 Aries 56, so 4 minutes of Aries are in the 1st house - not much though!). Usually, with intercepted signs/houses, the energy of the sign/house gets swallowed up by the sign/house it's contained within. In this case though, I'm going to agree with astrologer50 and say you should use a different house system - when you see houses this huge/small, it's best to try a different system (I'd say equal or koch).
