Heavily aspected venus

Hi everyone!

I was wondering if anyone could interpret my venus aspects. I have looked up a lot about the individual aspects (Venus square ascendant & saturn, Venus conjunct midheaven, Venus opposite Neptune & Descendant) But find it difficult to interpret them altogether.

I also have difficulties with understanding for example the venus square ascendant, would this be a negative placement; would this negatively influence people's view of me, but then venus conjunct midheaven is considered quite positive... it's quite hard for me to understand this.

I hope my request is clear and I'm looking forward to your answers :)

Venus is the ruler of your ASC and also the ruler of your whole chart. It has a strong role in your chart and an even stronger one when it is conjunct an angle and square or opposite the others. The angles - 1st, 4th, 7th and 10th house cusps - are the most sensitive places in the chart.

Venus is also square Saturn, opposite Neptune (but that's quite a wide orb), quincunx Jupiter, semi-sextile sextile Mercury - and although it doesn't show it, square Chiron - it's only 5 degrees apart from an exact square. It is aspecting the Moon's Nodes too - sextile North Node and trine South Node. Yeah, and theres some other aspects too. So you are asking about a very important planetary placement.

You can't really read Venus without considering the whole chart.

You are here to evolve your self-concept and sense of inner security - how you value yourself or see your value in the social world. I think it is likely that you were or feel judged, rejected or in some way, unacceptable. The chart is saying that you need to evolve the way you do relationships. Venus as ruler of the chart says that as well. Libra naturally has an energy exchange with other people - and it learns about itself through the exchange. Libra is actually a very sensitive sign. If you grew up in a negative or bad-feeling environment, sensitive Libra with either withdraw or take control in order not to feel the energy.

Yet, Venus is in Cancer - also a very sensitive sign - and so you will still be very sensitive to other people's energy. With Sun and Mercury in Gemini I bet you think about your responses a lot - maybe it's a good defense. Thinking can overpower feeling - thinking can take you out of feeling. But if a Gemini chooses, she can think about feelings too - to understand and learn.

Your Capricorn IC - 4th house cusp - suggests that your childhood family did not express their emotions and feelings. They had feelings, of course, but they weren't likely to share them. So, that's how you learned to be. However, your past life wound is about sort of feeling lost - or not belonging - not knowing who you are - so my guess is the family life didn't help you find yourself well enough. Your self-identity or ego development wasn't fully satisfactory. So Libra rising is to help you learn about yourself through other people - through those Libra energy exchanges. You need to be around positive, loving, mature people who can give you the kind of energy exchanges you need.

You need to analyze yourself and others - a lot - to understand them and yourself - and when you analyze to understand - you will improve your self-value and relationships. You will learn to be more independent in relationships, which automatically improves them.

My guess is that Venus in Cancer conjunct MC is functioning to help you be sensitive to others - like a radio receiver receiving sound waves - you can be attuned to others - know how they feel - and be able to share your feelings with others. I don't think you do this naturally. I think in this regard, you're a work in progress. You have a lot of independent energy in your chart - and you error on being independent, emotionally aloof, and sort of not really quite here.

Venus, Libra and Cancer are trying to balance this for you so that you can grow in this department. Ultimately, relationships are about feelings. How we process our own feelings, express our feelings, and communicate who we are on that level adds up to how we are in relationship. Venus square to ASC - DES - is about making sure you grow and change in this department. Squares are the best for growing and changing - and will be of great help to you. Without the tension of the squares, you'd be less able to keep working on it.

With your Moon in Sagittarius, 3rd - you really need to reflect upon how you might judge yourself and others - beliefs, attitudes, behaviors. Do you think in terms of ideals, good-bad, right-wrong, superior-inferior? Do you have impossible high standards that people can never measure up to - or maybe you don't measure up? There are some ideas, beliefs or attitudes that you need to revise about who you are in relationships.

Venus is attractive - it attracts people to you. You probably have a great deal of love to give - and you want to give it. So, you will have ample opportunity to work on these specific issues - share who you are - and become your best self.

Your ''woman'' identity (Venus in Cancer) is very different from your personality identity...the Libra rising. And Jupiter seems to support your ASC as it is trine.

On the other hand Jupiter and Venus inconjunct. You may ''act'' in a way that you feel pleases others or the way others define you....rather than ''being'' your authentic womanly self. This is self sabotaging. But you may not yet know how to handle this. You are still young and you will figure it out. As long as you keep in mind that there is a part of you which was programmed to do that which others find valuable but that you may not.

When a personal planet squares the Asc it means that what people SEE is not necessarily who you are, deep in your female self. The ''air'' signs are defined often by objectivity and intellect. The water signs represent more the emotional ''self.''
So you see there is a conflict. And his can be obvious to people who know you well.
But not by people you have just met.
So it takes time for yu to trust others and for them to know you.

This last is confirmed by Neptune opp Venus. You are distrustful because you learned that you can't always trust even the closest people who should be your friends and protect you....beginning in childhood.
The lunar opposition confirms that you may have felt in some way abandoned as a child. this can be felt even if your mother was always there. There are many ways one can feel abandoned.
Sometimes by the birth of a sibling, or a mom's having to go to work, or having a less than nurturing person who took care of you when your mom needed to go out or to work, etc.

Sometimes there is a family dysfunction which discourages you from ''being yourself'' and having to put on an act so that you fit in or don't get singled out for being ''you.'' One thing is sure, you were not encouraged to be YOU and were not approved of for things you loved to do...although you may have been praised for things important to others that you did well.

Having said all that there are MANY positive aspects in your chart. You are very intelligent...you are creative and you will find out a lot of your strengths as time goes on. Don't let anyone keep you from following your own intuition which is considerable!!

I hope you don't still live at home. You will ''become'' more authentic when you live on your own for a while.

By the way, your Venus Quintile Mars may turn out to be a very important aspect...esp. if you like to work in research or in some other way where you work alone. It also may be a hobby you do alone. But there is talent there....and it will have to do with details. Also: Venus in Cancer NEVER forgets. Never forgets a feeling. And often has a very good memory in general....and connected to Mars in Virgo which is ALSO a sign of ''memory'' - this as I said may end up being a powerful part of who you become.

Wow Harmelia, I honestly don't know what to say after reading this—it couldn't have been more accurate. I am very much struggling with who I am and sacrificing who I am to please other people, and to not stand out.

I always feel judged and feel like people do not like me, even though there's not a direct reason for it. People do not act mean, or malicious in any way, but I simply over analyze any situation and can turn it into something negative and therefore feel like people think negatively of me.

Despite loving my parents, and respecting them for everything they have done, there was indeed a lack of expressing emotions and feelings. My parents are very much opposites, and despite them still being together I do not feel like there is a lot of genuine love between them. Now I barely talk about feelings with them. Our conversations are rather about colloquial things.

I indeed easily know how other's feel—or at least I think I do haha. Nevertheless I do not feel comfortable sharing my own emotions and feelings and tend to circumvent doing so. I also tend to hide my emotions by laughing and stuff, and turning things into a joke to make others more comfortable.

I do not feel like I have impossibly high standards for others, rather for myself.

I tried to react to some things you said in your post—sorry if my reply seems a bit sporadic and scattered. I want to thank you for you reply and all the information you gave me! i truly appreciate it Harmiia, Thank you so much :)

If your Venus conjuncts your Midheaven, then it won't opposite your descendant. I think you meant IC.

Thank you for your response!! I saw your message which made me realize I had two fantastic replies on my post :)

My mom was actually always at home, and took care of me and my twin sister. It was my dad who always was away for work. He would only be home in the weekends and during weekdays he wasn't home and slept in his truck because he travelled to other countries and was far away from home.

I was indeed not really encouraged to be ME and the things I loved to do were criticized at times—Very accurate!

Thank you for also highlighting something positive haha and thank you for taking the time to write this wonderful reply with a lot of valuable information :)

Hello, roosje.
Saying this with the greatest tenderness and respect, I believe as is common in these early stages of learning, you may be overthinking a bit Venus' position in your chart .

I would begin to look at your natal Venus as conjunct the MC and ruling the rising point, so clearly a key ruler of your chart. On the MC, you show the world the sensitivity and caring that Venus in Cancer manifests. As ruler of your Ascendant, you present yourself also personally as a genuinely caring and loving person.

Venus' aspect to Saturn in the 7th on the descendant points to the deep commitment you make to relationships. You take them very seriously. You may not always like where the Venus Saturn square takes you based on Venus' challenging reception to the sign of Aries on Saturn, like maybe not knowing when to let go when things are not working. But it has been my experience that people committed to relationship recognize the value of a partner with Venus Saturn.

The squares between these bodies and points indicate there is a lot of energy surrounding the affairs of the houses and planets therein. The energy may be obstructive or blindsiding at times as you come to realize the great potentiality of these gifts. But ultimately these energetic squares symbolize and can give you strength.
