Can I be an Astrologer?

The planet for Astrologers in the tradition is Mercury. Your Mercury is highly dignified, conjunct the MC which is geared towards career, and it's making a phasis which makes it more emphasized in your life. It is also conjunct one of the royal fixed stars Aldebaran. You possess a very powerful Mercury.

Your sect light is also located in the 10th house and in Gemini as well which could be read as having authority (Sun) in a mercurial field (such as astrology). It is also connected to Jupiter in the 6th house, Jupiter also having some significance to astrology through its spiritual/philosophical components.

Your natal chart as well as your obvious interest for astrology is a green light for further consideration as a career.

If you have to ask, probably not.

Unless you're asking about whether or not you could be financially secure being an Astrologer.

But if you know that you got it and you know Astrology, then I don't see why you'd have to ask if you could be one.

I was reading an article..
and this lady mentioned if an astrologer sees in your chart that you can be one.
She also mentioned having your chart read by at least 10 professionals,
to see all the different perspectives/methods they use.

I definitely feel like astrology is the one subject I absolute LOVE studying and sharing with others.
I know it will take a long time to blossom into a financially supportive career..
the endless wonder for others and our relationships and evolution will aid in this journey.

Your responses are greatly appreciated. Thank you
:)

Mercury is the traditional ruler of astrology, and Uranus is the modern ruler of astrology. These planets are both domiciled and trined. Mercury rules your MC. So that's a good start.

Making money at astrology is something else. You'd have to build up a paying client base, and today there's a lot of on-line competition from us amateurs.

What I would suggest is that you read absolutely everything, widely, about astrology, and become a connoisseur. What do you think is good or bad astrology? What particular school (such as Vedic, traditional western, or modern) most appeals to you?
You don't need a professional credential to practice astrology, but it does give you some ballast; not to mention a clear understanding of what seasoned professionals think you need to know. Check out websites for organizations like the AFA, ISAR, NCGR, and the British (modern) Faculty of Astrological Studies. Identify astrologers whose work you truly admire: some of them offer their own programs.

If you are a university student, consider an allied major such as counselling or psychology. (Oh, heck: maybe an independent study major combining astronomy, history, and counselling.)

Then just start reading charts for people. Ask them to give you feedback on your work. Do all kinds of readings: natal, synastry, horary, electional.

Incidentally if you are highly intuitive or even psychic, that's a big advantage. Most of us aren't, but I think some of the really good astrologers are.

After a few years, you should get a sense as to how you would stack up as a pro. Write a business plan for yourself, about how much you could realistically expect to earn and how much you would need to live on. Would you need a day job?

Good luck to you, cosmicseeing. I hope to see your chart readings on this forum.
