When will our relationship get serious?

I know him for about 2.5 years. There are too many cultural differences between us but I can't stop loving him. He lives so far from me but I have strange telepathy with him..have a feeling that he's interested in me too. (Not being delusional, he makes me strongly sense it) So I wonder if this is gonna happen..

Therefore, in my opinion there will be no "getting serious" in this relationship, over the near to intermediate future (that could change, however, as more time passes)
