Asking for a healthier economy, better opportunities, better cost of living, and even affordable healthcare isn't too much to ask for the type of country America is. :whistling:

I think these are legitimate requests. But I suspect that even if America were to achieve all of these, it still wouldn't erase the presence of the uber-wealthy class of people. I think those are two different projects.

Revolutions? This might be more cosmetic in the grand scheme if you never overthrow the ones truly in power. How do you find and usurp people who make it a point of duty to keep their wealth and power beyond the public eye? I'm talking all those people who don't show up in the glitzy magazines

Very carefully ;)

Yes, my bad for not clarifying/communicating it earlier.

Nah, it's cool. I think a lot of people have an amorphous dislike or even hatred for wealthy people. But without clarity, how would they know where to focus, organize and effect the change that they crave? Can't get a bullseye without aiming at the target.

Yes, he came richer as a result. He became the richest man, beating Bezos if I'm correct.

I love wealth and the american dream... but it has become very apparent that they become wealthy at the expense of others (the common people).

Sorry, Bunraku, there was so much messaging by the time I wrote that the reference was lost in the muddle.
I've had a positive idea of Musk. He began poor and had success. No?

Uber wealthy people aren't a problem. The issue is how they get wealthy.

Did they get wealthy by providing a service to the consumer, and by doing so helping the economy grow, creating jobs and valuable goods?

Or did they get wealthy through bribes, by stealing tax-money/public funds, or by government favours to ruin their competition?

That is the state government's fault for shutting down small business, not Elon's or anyone elses (unless they somehow bribed politicians to do such thing).

Why does the answer always have to go to socialism or communism.
The economy was good at several points of american history. No need to pick those...examples

The issue is that right now you have a mixed socialist economy, both in the U.S. and Europe.

Federal spending in the U.S. is equal to 31% of the total GDP. This means that almost 1/3 of the value generated by the work you do everyday is just to support the government.

In Italy we are currently at about 134%.
Nice job for future generations!

I think we're talking about two different class of wealthy people here. See video that I posted earlier -- they're gradations to "uber-wealthy".
