Interesting fact: the countries at the top of this list were the ones touted for capitalism "lifting" them out of poverty in the past few decades. This are the blessed "BRIC" countries that were heavily admired by some analysts who base their assessments on financial metrics only. This kind of analysis has its time and place, but clearly it's not a way to capture the full picture. Quality of life cannot be measured by GDP/GNP. But it's the dominant worldview for some people.
Capitalism has killed a lot on our earth. Including human lives. This is not to say that communism is better.... only stating the facts here.
