Jupiter transits into my 1st w/ aspects...effects?

Jupiter will transit into my 1st house at the end of March 2011, and make some interesting aspects to my natal planet placements (listed below).

I wondering if anyone could elaborate on this placement, or the jupiter-related aspects and it's effects... for example, if you've had this transit, did if effect you emotionally? A boost in confidence? Does/could it effect a person in "daily" life (i.e. got a job promotion during its transit through the 1st?).

Having some pretty chaotic past couple of years, I'm looking forward to this transit.

I've done some research and got the jist of the basics...

Jupiter Transits Through Your First House: By itself, this transit tends to bring new opportunities. This transit can enable you to get the big picture.Optimism tends to increase. It’s a good time to make long range plans.

T Jupiter aspects to Natal:
Jupiter Trine Uranus (end of February)
Jupiter Conjunction Ascendant
Jupiter Trine Jupiter
Jupiter Square Medium Coeli

As kind of a sub-question, at around the same time, according to my beginner calculations, T Sun will be hitting my 1st house in the beginning of April:
Would this give a little "boost" to the Jupiter influence?

Some aspects to my natal I thought were interesting were:
Sun Trine Jupiter
Sun Trine Uranus
Sun Trine Medium Coeli
Sun Opposition Sun

Chart if needed:

Hello

this aspect may have the effect of bringing to you some sort of jackpot this next(year will incompass 12 months or the time jupiter will enter into the next sign), or you can check the degrees when it will be exact. moon entering the sign of natal jupiter may bring this about.

Might also have the effect of increasing your weight if you are not careful.

Plus jup is trine your natal jup. This increases the potential of luck.

you are lucky in 9 house matter and uranus there shows that there are changes there but which will be lucky for you in the long run.

just saw your chart.

Jupiter will go into my 1st house the end of February. Not looking forward to the potential weight gain, which has been happening already. I will have a trine to Venus, sextile to Mercury, sextile to Saturn, then a T-square to My Moon Sun opposition. T Uranus will also be going into our 1st house late spring, early summer. I am hopeful with this transit. I have had a very difficult time myself this past 1 1/2 years. I also have early cardinal on my MC/IC which doesn't help either. But for the weight gain, I think this should be a fortunate time for us, or helpful at least.

SagiCap: Thank you for your input, reading other people's experiences with specific aspects helps me as much as learning about the technical stuff. Because it helps me figure out the balance of astrology influences and how I apply it my daily life as a whole... I hope that made sense :)

Vista: You'll hit the transit a month before me, let me know how it goes!
Having experienced a difficult last couple of years, I too am looking forward to any positive or helpful changes this transit might bring, however heavy or faint it might be/feel to me...at this point, anything will help.

sethi:

Would looking at Pluto and it's aspects also help me in trying to interpret other possible "changes" during this period? Or is Pluto more transformation/change in the emotional sense....

EDIT: I think I found the answer to my question from searching around the 'net. The source page is quite helpful in identifying "changing" aspects, I posted the link below if anyone wanted to take a look :)

"2. Transit Pluto is in aspect with your Sun or progressed Sun
Pluto is the planet of dramatic change and transformation. The transit of Pluto forces you to make changes in life style or in the way that you developed. Especially with the conjunction might sort of force you to start living life in a more intense way. The effect is stronger and longer when you have a major or minor aspect between Sun and Pluto in the natal chart."

Source: http://astropost.blogspot.com/2009/06/astrological-signs-of-changing-times.html

Looked my chart over again, and found that T Pluto will sextile my N Sun around the same time, along with T Pluto is conjunct my MC, I'm certainly not expecting to win the lotto, or find buried treasure, but I'm thinking Pluto's aspects alone should make for an interesting period...

Also, on a side note...I noticed the transits/planet placements that are forming the Cardinal Grand Cross, are/will conjunct my axis's - ASC, MC, and DC - is this happening in everyone's chart (generational)? Or is it person specific?

Transits
I use--- 1° approaching, 1° exact and 1° departing. If you click on the link listed below for the online ephemeris it will list all planets at any given time. Learning astrology is like learning a new ‘language’ and obviously the more effort you put into something the more your knowledge and understanding will increase. All transits act as ‘background’ influences through a house, until it makes a mathematical aspect to a planet inside or an Angle.

For 'timings' I would look to the retrograde hit as the most important trigger, then look to see what the quicker planets are doing especially mars & mercury --

astro.com has fee six month transit forecast plus when you get into Extended chart selection, look at the three tabs after calculating a chart under ‘method’ default is circular wheels (on left), middle is special charts and in their you get graphic ephemeris 1yr (or 5years) with natal = transits for 1yr and lots more. BUT you first must learn or memorise the 'glyphs' ie: shorthand for recognising what these maps/graphics mean.

For example when you post or reply to a chart the 'smilies' to the right and just under them [more] if you click on there it will bring up a whole loads of 'glyphs' Mercury Uranus conjunction (+or - 8') trine aspect 120' Libra

http://www.astrologyweekly.com/learn-astrology/astrology-glyphs.php
http://www.dkfoundation.co.uk/dkfoundation/BookTransitsAndProgressions.htm

Now it's more important to focus on transits from Jupiter to Pluto (poss mars as this is the ignition key)and these planets when aspecting something in your natal chart 'set off' the difficult or nice 'aspects - potential - problems' that your chart expresses. By that I mean if a benefic planet like Jupiter hits/touches/transits your venus, mars or uranus these could be experienced very pleasantly. BUT if your natal venus is afflicted, or badly aspected say conj saturn then jupiter will not has such a good effect. It all depends on how the natal planet is 'aspected'

For me I would say external 'events' must be seen by transits, progressions or Solar arcs to Angles ie: Asc/Desc & MC/IC most other times these events are 'internal, psychological matters as in between the ears'

Now astro.com uses a much wider orb, possibly something like 5° or even 10° that’s why when you use the free transit forecast service a transit goes on for months and months. BUT common sense should tell you when the transit is ‘exact’ then it’s at the strongest. Some astrologers swear by 1° approaching produces ‘events’ some say the 1° exact, some say 1° off for triggering events. I personally look to the exact and 1° off for ‘timings’ especially the retrograde hit (backwards hit)

This last website link is rather nice because it gives interpretations of what the ‘Lord’ of the house cusp ruler means ie: T Jupiter sextiles natal sun, so wherever Leo rules in your chart is connected to the area this transit will be affecting –

Thank you for all the informative links :)
As I slowly learn the mathematics of astrology, I use sites like cafeastrology (14 transit forecasts) and grupovenus.com transit calculations/reports too. Then I try to compare the dates of the transits, their aspects to the actual chart(s). Then I narrow down the degrees to pinpoint certain days. I'm more of a visual person than a number's person.... is that a weird way of learning all this? :whistling:

My weird way of learning demonstrated... if anyone wants to double-check my work :) :

Looking at my natal w/ current transits, I see Jupiter about to conjunct my ASC. So I progress the transits to see when it will hit my 1st house, then look for aspects...
My approximate times are:
Jupiter trine Jupiter 3.20.2011
Jupiter conjunct ASC 3.22.2011
Jupiter will transit into the 1st house 3.24.2011

Then I look at something like cafeastrology's calculations and watch the orbs to see when/if the aspect's orb is getting tighter....
Then I look at the planet placements within the houses to see what "area" an aspect might effect, and so on....

Might sound like a long process, but me counting degrees and equations would take a lot longer - but I'm still trying to learn!

This chart may help. It works like an ephemeris and an aspectarian combined. Very visual, but you need to be able to read glyphs.

There's a chart for October and November and a link to glyphs interpretations at the link.

Tanya, without knowing you will be more open, positive and optimistic to new possibilities.

Relationships, places of living, jobs, activities, etc...

Enjoy and take advantage. And, if you are also with Uranus in first house, this is already a rollercoaster of adventures for you.

Thanks for your input segurelha!

Unfortunately, or fortunately (depending on it's aspects to my natal planets) T Uranus will be bouncing around my 12th house for the next year, but I'm excited for this transit as Jupiter will be bouncing between Aries and Taurus in my 1st. this next year.... It's been a rough couple of years for me, so any positivity this transit brings or influences, will be very welcomed :)

Sure tanya. The next year is beneficial for you. This whole time jupiter was in your 12th house. Now understand this formula

FRIEND OF YOUR FRIEND =FRIEND
FRIEND OF YOUR ENEMY =ENEMY
FRIEND IN THE HOUSE OF YOUR ENEMY = ENEMY

Jupiter was in your 12th house this whole year . It did throw good aspects at trine / 120 degree angles both ways at your 8th house and your 4 th house. But it was weak at best.
But saturn will go forward to contact your moon in your 7th house too. So the result will be mixed

Expect a year ahead of much new and larger horizons, in general more optimism to take the decision you want to. It's a perfect year to start gradually a whole and new cycle of life.

Jupiter transited my ASC last year, and I changed my career.

Last time Jupiter went through my first, Saturn was just wrapping up a major overhaul on that house. Saturn had been dragging my butt to the gym the whole two years he was in the 1st. He'd been swatting all that fattening, greasy stuff off my plate and making me eat my peas. Thanks to Saturn, I'd lost about 50 pounds and was stronger/fitter than I'd ever been in my life. I was actively working on my college degree and getting good grades.

Then, as Saturn left my first and moved on to my second, Jupiter came skipping behind. He said, "Why think small? You love music, how 'bout a career in it? You can do anything you set your mind to." I quit going to the gym, signed up for a bunch of music classes. I immediately started gaining weight. Jupiter said, "Eh, don't worry about it. Get some bigger pants. We have more important things to concern ourselves with, like changing the world with the power of MUSIC." By the time Jupiter was done wreaking havoc on my first, I'd gained all my weight back and completely lost my focus on my psychology degree, which I never did manage to go back and get. I'd spent over a year "thinking big" but had nothing to show for it.

At the time, I had no clue I was under the influence of Jupiter. I didn't realize any of this until I noticed that I felt Jupiter's footsteps on my ASC a couple months ago as extreme sugar cravings, coupled with a brazen nonchalance about the prospect of weight gain. The words flitted through my mind, "Well, I hate to gain weight, but I've got so many more important matters I'm dealing with right now!" I said to myself, "Woah, now I've heard THAT before! Put down that chocolate and go check in with the scale!" Sure enough, I'd gained ten pounds in a matter of weeks. I can literally feel my body wanting to gain weight right now, as if its some biological imperative. This feeling that if I'm not extremely careful I could blimp out in record time made me wonder what happened last time Jupiter was in this house. I wasn't surprised at what I found when I compared my journal with Jupiter's transits.

All this means, of course, that I need to figure out a way to channel Jupter's energy into more productive channels than weight gain and pipe dreams.
