Re: Do we over compensate for lack of elements?

First off...Earth signs can be (and sadly often are) the most materialistic people on the planet and often horde what is theirs. They do not tend to care about higher ideals or love, they simply want material things and will do almost anything to get them. There is a reason why so many people tend to look down on them in that regard. The material plane is important yes. But being obsessed with it in the way that Earth signs are breeds contempt and selfishness. The obsession with money is considered a sin for a reason as it corrupts entirely. I for one know many Earth signs and they are indeed quite selfish. My cousin is a Taurus and often won't give anything material up to save her life, be it money, food, objects, you name it. My Uncle was a Capricorn and was literally ruthless in his selfishness to make money. So there are indeed negative renditions of Earth.

Fire is love, inspiration, creativity. Again, there is a reason behind everything and there most certainly is one in the story of Prometheus giving fire to humanity to inspire them to create civilization. The warmth of the heart is ruled by fire. But fire in itself is love. Why do you think warmth has a positive connotation? Try having an air sign teach the meaning of passionate love. They will fail miserably at it as air is the intellectual element. Earth will fair no better in this pursuit as they do not even deal in emotions or ideals. Only water can grasp love like fire can, and even then the waves of emotion can become too much. Where water tends to fall short is love of self, which you need before you can fully love anyone else. Again, fire can take this aspect too far and at that point it becomes negative. But self-love is absolutely crucial to love of others, and this is something fire signs excel at.

People raise children and take care of loved ones out of a sense of love for them. People have absolutely no duty to do these things and to say that is the only reason they do so is utterly harsh and cruel and completely lacks any feeling or consideration, but then again that is such a stereo-typically Earth/Air thing to say. If someone does not love their family they will not care for them and thus will not take care of them. It is as simple as that.

Jupiter is the main planetary ruler of a fire sign and is a co-ruler of Pisces. Whether in exaltation in another sign, there is no denying Jupiter's home is Sagittarius. Luckily, I happen to have that aspect. Coinciding with that, Jupiter is about expansion, optimism, luck, knowledge, spirituality, religion, philosophy. It is true Aries tend to be selfish, but they are not the only ones ruled by Mars. Scorpio is also ruled by mars and some would say is equally selfish.

STOP the personal attacks

All,

This thread has become a "slash and burn" attack fest so I have HEAVILY edited your posts and will continue to do so. STOP the personal attacks and get back to the astrology of the OPs question.

Warning,

Tim

Re: Do we over compensate for lack of elements?

Its quite disheartening to see astrologers claiming one element is better than another. This kind of thing is usually connected with a need to prop up a fragile ego as May28 has pointed out. It is especially common with fire types who are prone to what the Freudians call Oedipal fixation, which expresses as compulsive competitiveness.
The other elements have their weak points also of course.

Those who believe that earth types are all greedy should take a look at the chart of Karl Marx.

locking down thread

All,

This thread is out of control and no one seems to be willing to get back to astrology and would prefer to attack each other using astrology (and making direct attacks). So I deleted all comments and am locking down this thread.

Locking down,

Tim
