This month's Lunar Eclipse will fall on Thursday, August 18, 2016 at 26 degrees Aquarius. Unlike the first Lunar Eclipse back in March, this one is very positive and exciting for a change. Newly discovered opportunities and relationships will propel you on a special mission to find plans for a bigger and brighter future. Even better, this Lunar Eclipse will not produce any shadows over the Moon this time, so this Eclipse will act more like a normal lasting Full Moon - 14 days! This is just enough time to finish up any loose ends left over from the past six months and to start planning for a brand new Eclipse cycle starting on the 1st of September.

Lunar Eclipse Meaning

Like all Full Moons in Astrology, the major planetary configuration of a Lunar Eclipse is the Sun opposing the Moon. Because both planets play a major role in our daily lives, you will be more inclined to focus your attention on your home, family and relationships of all types. The sensitive Moon reaches its peak during a Full Moon, and because the Moon is the ruler of emotions and instincts, you can now take a more objective and balanced look at your personal relationships. Being in touch with your own needs and intentions - and those of others close to you - will help you to clearly see any relationship imbalances that are causing disharmony.

The Lunar Eclipse on August 18th will bring balance to - and compliment - the previous New Moon in Leo, which occurred on August 2nd. The projects and goals you began two weeks ago can now be fine-tuned or completed, it is harvest time! This Lunar Eclipse also marks the final Moon phase in an Eclipse cycle (which began March 6, 2016). Any major themes or goals in your live - over the past six months - will finally be crystallizing before the Solar Eclipse on September 1st, 2016. After that, the slate is cleared, and a whole new Eclipse cycle begins.

Lunar Eclipse in Aquarius

First thing's first, I feel I should mention that this Lunar Eclipse is very positively supported. Just like the New Moon in Leo on August 2nd, this has got to be one of the sweetest lunar phases we have had in a very long time! Stay optimistic and open to change, this will increase the odds of feeling the positive influences of this Lunar Eclipse.

Revolutionary Uranus is acting in unison with both the Sun and the Moon this Lunar Eclipse, bringing with it two beautiful weeks of stimulating experiences, surprising events and exciting changes. Relationship imbalances and polarities now have the opportunity to reconcile using higher awareness (Moon), originality (Sun) and experimentation (Uranus).

With the Sun trine Uranus aspect, there will be increased intuition and flashes of insight that may lead to self-discovery and revelations. When this is combined with your self-confidence and vitality (Sun), you allow yourself to express the more unique and quirky side of your personality. Uranus loves to stir the pot, so don't be surprised if you even feel like trying something new. Stepping out of your comfort zone and widening your circle of friends can also be very beneficial to you during this time. Remember, an Aquarius without friends is like a Water Bearer with no water!

The Moon will also be in a great angle to Uranus this Lunar Eclipse, giving a nurturing and sensitive energy to all relationships. If you and your partner have been in a rut lately, the relationship can now be rejuvenated by allowing each other more individual freedom. You may even find that old relationships can be renewed through unexpected meetings or contact through the internet (Aquarius loves computers!). Also, make sure you keep your eyes and heart open as well. Any chance encounter you experience at this time may lead to instant attraction and new friendships or romantic opportunities.

Lunar Eclipse's Special Mission

This Lunar Eclipse on August 18th contains what we in Astrology call a "Yod" aspect pattern, which contains one sextile (easy) aspect and two quincunx (challenging) aspects. This forms a long triangle shape that points to a particular planet or configuration, in this case it is Mercury conjunct Jupiter.

In Astrology, a Yod signifies a special karmic mission that needs to be completed in order for our soul to evolve. All the changes, new relationships, higher self-awareness and insights of the Moon sextile Uranus aspect can create a heightened state of anxiety and tension if not channeled correctly or properly. Thankfully, the quincunx aspects shows us where to focus this neurotic and unstable energy on the action point of the Yod. So when an Astrologer looks at this Lunar eclipse's Yod pattern, they would see that it is through Mercury conjunct Jupiter that you can manifest all that crazy energy into a stable and useful form.

Mercury conjunct Jupiter is a very lovely aspect that brings good news, optimism and an idealistic frame of mind. Figuratively speaking, Mercury and Jupiter are sitting side by side, which causes the energies of both planets to blend into a helpful configuration. This should help you feel broad-minded, generous and sociable, especially if Mercury and Jupiter both play prominent roles in your natal horoscope. Because Jupiter is also the Lord of higher education and travel, this is the ideal time to start new courses of study and to explore new classes that peak your interest. If you've been feeling a little burned out lately, maybe it's time you sit back and take a rest. Journeys and vacations you take during this month will prove to be just what you needed to let go of all that stress you've been carrying since the Solar Eclipse on March 9, 2016.

With this aspect, social charm, tactfulness and diplomacy will make settling any disputes that much smoother and easier to do. If you are in real-estate, buying and selling could turn a profit, or you could even negotiate a better deal in any area of your life. Jupiter loves to think BIG, so making plans for the future is also highly favored during this time, just don't forget to have some fun while doing this.

Chatty Mercury is feeling extra supported this Lunar Eclipse, so catching up with friends - and making new ones - will also be much easier because of all your positive and generous energy. So make sure you put your best foot forward and get on out there!

Remember, the final mission of this Lunar Eclipse is the Yod - taking the exciting changes and newly discovered opportunities in your life and turning them into optimistic plans for a bigger and brighter future. This year's Saturn square Neptune aspect has brought with it so much fear and anxiety in the past months, so it is definitely time you had some fun and used positive thinking to manifest and make the most of all the new opportunities presenting themselves to you. Your soul will really thank you for this!

Also, on top of all the great news so far, lovely Venus is still in a strong angle to powerful Pluto. Besides the Lunar Eclipse itself, this is the strongest aspect of them all. This tells me that the good news coming out of your special mission has something to do with HUGE improvements in your love life and finances. I can't wait to see how this aspect plays out for you all. I believe - there is my Pisces ascendant - that this Lunar Eclipse will mark the beginning of love for a lot of my readers. All you have to do is be open to the new love and exciting changes that are coming your way.

Conclusion

Like I mentioned above, this Lunar Eclipse is the sweetest and most beneficial one of the whole 2016 year. With the help of Uranus, many relationships, opportunities, insights and experiences will suddenly appear in your life, and all with the intention and goal of changing your life for a bigger and brighter future. As long as you stay open-minded and flexible, you will allow for a better chance at experiencing all these wonderful changes. Aquarius is all about progress and the improvement of humanity. Keep these two things in mind as you go about your next two weeks. If your special mission includes love or big finances, be sure to stay focused on manifesting your desires. With all this positive support coming from the Universe, I really do see a lot of love and abundance coming your way. Enjoy this beautiful Lunar Eclipse!

With Love and Light,

Jacob Hulbert

Well...the Old Farmers Almanac's list of eclipses did not list tonight's lunar one. They have four not five (two solar, two lunar listed). And the times of eclipse provided are already over (darnit, I missed it). :pinched:

To CapAquaPis - There is still plenty of time to use this Full Moon. This one will be active for 14 days, just like a regular Full Moon. I wouldn't throw in the towel just yet ;)
