Hi Jamal. I tried to respond to your message, but a box appears saying that your inbox is full, which is strange as you joined this month and have just made the one post. But anyway, I just wanted to say that I shy away from commenting on vocational stuff, especially where this is the main thrust of the enquiry, because each vocation has all different types of people involved in it: compare Cliff Richard to Jonny Rotten! So its not possible to link a type of chart to a vocation. But I wish you well with the singing and song-writing, or with whichever path you take...

Thank you for the response.. So instead of focusing on my vocational path how about my personality what do you see in my chart.. that will challenge in my life or help me in life ?

Jamar, as requested, here is my delineation/interpretation (note that I am a novice in Traditional Hellenistic Astrology):

Usually, for musicians, we look for a relationship between Venus and Mercury. Your chart clearly shows your musical interest and ability. Venus is with Mercury in Libra.

Both Venus and Mercury are in-sect, because this is a night chart. Venus is dignified by being in her own sign, but Mercury is not dignified. Venus is in the terms of Mercury, and Mercury is in the terms of Venus (the table of terms I use: http://starsandstones.files.wordpress.com/2013/11/terms-firmicus1.jpg). In other words, they receive each other mutually. Mutual reception means that they help each other out in the things that each planet deals with.

Now, according to Paul of Alexandria (if I remember correctly), for Venus and Mercury, they are "stronger" (more capable of doing what they naturally do) when they rise after the Sun. In your case, both planets do rise after the Sun, so they are strong.

Now let's look at whether they are in favourable houses. By the Whole Signs House system, they are in the 4th House, and the 4th House is favourable because it is an angular house. The 4th House is in 3rd place (according to Maternus) in terms of favourability. By the Equal House system, Venus and Mercury are in the 3rd House, the House of the Goddess. This is also considered favourable (7th place).

So far, everything is good, except for the weakness of Mercury since he is undignified. The last thing we need to look is where are the malefics. Mars is dignified in his own sign, he is in-sect and does not aspect the Venus-Mercury combination. The more dangerous malefic, Saturn, is retrograde and undignified in Pisces. The good thing is that he does not aspect Venus and Mercury.

So in summary, I would say that being a singer/songwriter is a very suitable career for you. You would be very capable in it. The only issue I have is that it is not on an angle by the Equal House system. This usually means that you will sometimes have difficulty making money with being a musician.

However, Venus and Mercury are in sextile aspect with Jupiter in his own sign. Jupiter naturally signifies money and being in an okay position means that you will probably never fall into poverty. The ruler of the MC and 10th House is Mars and he is also well-placed in the chart, so most likely the money aspect is going to be okay overall. I would advise you to take care of your finances, make sure you solve any financial problems before they get too serious, and you will be fine.

Note:

Since the Venus-Mercury combination occurs in Libra, may I ask if you play a stringed instrument, like the guitar, harp, violin, chinese 'qin', etc? The kind of music one plays depends on the nature of the signs, and I have read that when in Libra, the musician usually plays a stringed instrument.

Thank you so much for you interpretation.. For your not about the libra instrument. I do not play a string instrument. I guess being naturally good at playing the keyboard without any lessons.. i'm assuming that falls under a string instrument. And also quick question since my saturn is retrograde and undignified in pisces. Do that make me lazy.. Because at times when I get home i can become lazy..

On the outside, the piano does not seem like a stringed instrument, but the inside actually has strings. I have thought about it but I am still not sure about this one. It could be loosely considered a stringed instrument, but I do not like loose definitions. :)

I think the reason you prefer to be a singer instead of an instrument player has to do with the fact that Venus is more dignified than Mercury. If Mercury was more dignified than Venus, you will more likely prefer to play an instrument rather than sing. Mercury makes our hands flexible, whereas Venus makes the voice more pleasant.

Saturn is in the 9th sign, so it does aspect the Ascendant strongly. I would say yes, it makes you lazy sometimes, but because it is not a hard aspect and Saturn is not in-sect, the affect does not occur as often as some other people.

I want to say thank you so much for your patience and time... So what do you have to say about my overall chart?? Am I mean person by my chart, what does ascendant tell about me?? and more only if you have the time and don't mind telling me

An 'overall assessment'? I can't do that. I am Saturnine, and asking me that question is like telling me to interpret the whole chart, which is gonna be like a short story (about 5,000 to 15,000 words). :D

I can tell you more about your chart, but let's do that later. I have another person's chart that I promised to do first.

But just to convince you about your musical ability, let me show you something. Look at the charts of some musical people:

http://www.astro.com/astro-databank/Mozart
http://www.astro.com/astro-databank/Santana,_Carlos
http://www.astro.com/astro-databank/Cobain,_Kurt
http://www.astro.com/astro-databank/Cole,_Nat_"King"
http://www.astro.com/astro-databank/Bouchikhi,_Chico
http://www.astro.com/astro-databank/Jones,_Stan
http://www.astro.com/astro-databank/Reutter,_Hermann
http://www.astro.com/astro-databank/Ferry,_Bryan

Now look at the positions of Venus and Mercury. :)

Of course, in reality astrology isn't that simple. There are various other possibilities for musicians as well. One other pattern I've found is mutual reception between Venus and Mercury, e.g. Venus in Virgo, Mercury in Libra.

Just something to contemplate, and a very rough way of showing that I'm not building sandcastles in the air.

Personality-wise, I think you are Choleric-Sanguine. I usually look at the planets on the angles for strong effects on personality and career. The only planet that is on an angle is Mars. The in-sect, dignified Mars in a good house shows that your Choler is more balanced. So, you tend to be brave, assertive, active but only sometimes reckless and impatient. Furthermore, we should look at the Moon. The only planet that strong affects the Moon is Jupiter. Jupiter is naturally benefic, and he is in his own sign, although out-of-sect and in the unfortunate 6th house (this may signify that you tend to eat or drink too much, and may be overweight). Jupiter makes the person sociable, generous, modest, generally good, though one who desires many things.

Mentally, you generally think in a positive manner and probably a person who is caring towards his/her family and/or family property (land, buildings, etc). Also someone who is generally light-hearted and happy, unless terrible circumstances occur in his/her life.

Lol, Well I am pretty skinny and I indulge in tons of junk food.. But very picky eater when it comes to real food. But everything else you touched on is pretty true thank you again...also what about my ascendant? And my eight house? And also my house where people will perceive me as a whole? how will I appeal to the public eye if I was to become famous?

Well, the original topic was about your career. My delineation stops here. If you want other people to delineate those things for you, please create a new thread with new questions.

Valens has talked about techniques to determine the native's eminence (fame and social visibility), but as I have not started on his work, I cannot comment much more about it.

You can google "Hellenistic Astrology eminence indicators".

I found a useful post by Curtis Manwaring, creator of the Delphic Oracle software for traditional astrology. He is also learned in the same tradition I am learning.

I recieved a visitor message from you.
I would agree with Miquar. if this is your dream just follow it

- I notice you have lots of waterly elements to your chart which suggests a lot of sensitivity. For those who are successful in the music industry they do tend to have a lot of earth - for singing and songwriting.
WillIam has a very watery chart though as did George Harrison of the beatles. They both seem to want to combine something else with their singing/writing - a spiritual element.
