In my opinion Vedic holds a more balanced view of Saturn than we have in the Western tradition (although Modernist astrology leans toward what I consider to be a more balanced point of view) Vedic astrology has produced a number of important books giving a balanced view of Saturn, which have been translated into English, and I urge all to take a look at them, because the "greater malefic" (as Western astrology has long referred to Saturn) can also be the most benefic of all planetary influences under the right circumstances.
