Hello Everyone

Glad to be a part of the community. My astrological backround is steeped in Traditional/Hellenistic Astrology but I take anything I find useful to apply with my practice. I look forward to sharing and gaining knowledge with you all.

Welcome Nocturnal Astrology, my background is also steeped in Traditional and Hellenistic astrology in particular. Do you have any favourite author from that time? Mine used to be Dorotheus and Valens, I used to do sidereal astrology, but then I studied Ptolemy's Tetrabiblos, filled some missing components and fell in  with the work. My understanding of astrology completely changed.

I wrote something of a treatise recently that is an adaptation of the Tetrabiblos, if you are interested - https://www.astrologyweekly.com/forum/showthread.php?t=130820

Hi Nocturnal - I also share an appreciation of Hellenistic astrology. I only recently discovered it (over the past couple of years) and fell in love. I've played around with every astrological system you can imagine - from Huber to Cosmobiology, Evolutionary, you name it. I have no less than 5 astrological software programs on my computer. For me, it's been a hobby for over 40 years -- and I'm still learning more and more every day.

I look forward to learning from you!

Thanks guys! Wow over 40 years of experience?! You must be pretty knowledgable. And Petosiris, I really enjoyed Firmicus Maternus' Mathesis, but he's a little.. how do we say, inconsistent. I actually just got into Medieval Astrologer Abu Mashar. Ben Dyke's translation of Persian Nativities has proved invaluable for information regarding Solar Returns. I'll take a look at your treatise. (That's so cool that someone would think to write something like that)
