FB got me steaming mad

I find out a few moments ago that Facebook had invaded my files and made public all photos, videos etc. PUBLIC...not just FB friends...but PUBLIC.
I had never given permission nor was I informed of this... I had posted aprx. 70 or so photos...but hey had made available over 2000 of my photos [that's every dang one]...some of which are intimate,,, very personal photos and videos.
Who the heck do they think they are?
I'm so freakin' mad! I have no idea of who may have been through my stuff...I had noticed that things were rearranged...which means at least one person has...for all I know it could be hundreds of people...as I know not when this occurred...[I don't check my own 'page' but rarely.]
If anyone here is on FB, I suggest you take heed!

Just be careful who you let on your computer.Or what files you download.
Many people with the right knowledge can easily access your computer from far places.
So I am assuming it's not Facebook.Someone just got your IP address and pretended to to be you on the net.

This happened last month? I thought that FB made that change ages ago? I better go check my settings...

I know, we all use FB for different things, it can be useful in ways, now they do what they like, thinking we'll just stick to it. Nope!

Well...I don't see the point of that from their part.I mean how exactly works in their advantage?

Because his computer could have been hacked if some file he downloaded was corrupt.

There might be somthing to what you said...FB doesn't seem to know what's going on from the explanation they gave me...seems they claim to only access that which I gave permission for... and my computer did some 'end over ends' for a few days... I had to start it in 'Safe mode' for a couple of days as it was freezing up at start up...I suspect that someone or some org. got into it.
Seems i've made some new enemies lately or just more determined old ones.
Thanks for the advice.

They may not be enemies just people who enjoy causing trouble. It crossed my mind cause last year something weird happened to me.I was looking for some pics on Google and I went to a page and after that my laptop went crazy and my spybot(I think) was saying that another IP address had at that time access to my laptop or something like that.

this is true. FB general policy is to have no part of the profile private. so when they do regularly upgrades all profiles (everything) becomes public. They often do this maintenance overnight.

To me this is dreaful but I was told by a security expert that Americans(where FB is based) are quite cool with this ie letting everything be on show.(so to speak)

Yeah, I was sure that I read that they had knowingly changed things which enabled this. They make so many of these changes, they could be chronicled.

a friend reccomended that I get an E book for internet use and keep my computer separate..it is a consideration ...even at the added cost, it would be inexpensive compared to an identity theft by those that are pros at it...they can cost one alot of $ and grief.
I do run into the oddest sites trying to find leads on some of the more occult and esoteric clues and threads of info I pick up. Back in 2006, right after I got my first computer, I yahooed the query, "Arabic Parts" as I only had the formula for 28 of them. The number one 'hit' was a site listing that said they had hundreds of Arabic Parts...I clicked it...I get a picture of a storefront that is obviously an old auto parts store [Napa Auto Parts, as they were all of a similar design] but it had been taken over by what appeared to be an owner operated store dealing in 'Parts' for all things made in Arabia, or Arabic countries...don't quite recall, because I didn't have but two or three seconds to look at the screen when "WHAM" i got such a vicious and aggressive virus [it fractiled and went malignant exponentially] that I had to have the entire system overhauled by the factory rep. repair facility...cost me 150.00...
Apparently someone with some sort of vendetta against things made by Arabs and attached a virus to the site so that anyone that even clicked on the site never had a chance. It went through the Windows firewall, the Norton software and the webroot software [as I was talked into purchasing all three for the most assured peace of mind] ...I might as well had no security software as easily as it came in and destroyed.
Since then I 've been tricked into clicking a site that turned out to be some sort of porno site and a few that were just basically bogus and tried to attach a trojan horse to me...
Switching to Google Chrome has reduced this sort of thing to almost nil..but not 100% apparently. There's always someone ahead of the security experts, so it seems.

FB didn't seem to know anything about it. I certainly never uploaded all those photos to FB as my entire 'Koday Share' app and every last picture in it was made available...along with the manuscript for my book, every message I had ever archived here at astrologyweekly that, in order to make room, I eventually copied and saved in my documents file. All pitures, videos, music, documents etc.
I finally determined that i had a 'Trojan Horse' in my system as it got very malicious the last couple of days... I had to go a new laptop yesterday morning as it was the best route I could take...because I got a years 'Tech support' from the 'Geek Squad' for my new computer and two additional ones for half the price they wanted to charge me just to try to save my old computer.
They sounded pretty positive that they will return to me a fully functional and dependable laptop...albeit a great many files and apps might be missing nowe...or will have to be abandoned because of the nuisances' destructive nature.
I got pretty much everything I got in 2009 at 2/3rds the cost...plus that tech support, free virus software of my choice for a year and a free Windows 8 upgrade coming as soon as it is out later this month.
Not bad... It was money I had saved for a road trip at the end of summer but as gas prices went way up instead of down [it went down from $4.29 per gal. premium to $4.09 a few days at the end of Sept. I waited an extra day hoping it would drop below 4.00 ...and 'POW'! ...it was up to $4.59 a gallon. I only get about 19 mpg on the highway.

So...I figure that all the trouble was the result of being 'hacked', again... at least, I'm fairly sure...
