But looking at this chart shows your question is indeed about you. you in first house and fairly early ascendant, no connection to her (jupiter). Being reminded of this person is you, you are reminding yourself. I doubt you have consulted studies that show the chances of seeing your meaningful objects, but if so perhaps they are connected to a theme and not to her role in your life. If she had a role right now, it would be connected to the internal work you were doing.
I also don't see the need to look any farther than your backstory you gave here for an answer. You both get along and are going through other relationships. There is something to be said for a friend who gets along with you. It's nothing to sneeze at I mean.
