You're right. I have completely deleted his number so i have no way of getting in touch with him. I don't want to sit and feel sorry for myself. I know i need to move on. But it's taught me what to look out for in the future.

So strange. I had no choice but to get in touch with him today. The house we were renovating, he asked me to put the electricity in my name which i cancelled a month ago. The company called today to tell me there is over $300 owing...
I got in touch to ask him to please pay it as it goes against my name. I got a cold response in return...

Well, there, then. You have had the encounter with the ex. There need never be another, most likely.
All I would suggest is that you consider trying to breathe, maybe even every few hours, just consciously take three slow breaths. It will help loosen this tense and sad period you are experiencing.
