  • The extended collection refers to texts that are partly astrological or useful for historical research or philosophical principles.
  • The ancient collection contains links to ancient texts, fragments, or secondary sources that cover the ancient period.
  • The scholar's collection contains links to published theses, dissertations, and peer-reviewed papers.

Hi,

Thank you so very much. I'm returning to an exploration of astrology. In the late 80's to early 90's I did extensive research into midpoints and gambling. Couldn't get a handle on it. Now I'm interested in understanding what influences the transiting planets have on me. My chart is composed mainly of a fixed cross of Pluto in Leo/2nd House, opposing the north node, squaring both Jupiter in the 10th/Taurus and Mercury in Scorpio/4th. My confusions mainly arise from this cross being in aspect in my natal chart to others, such as Jup sextile Uranus, Pluto trine Moon, Moon sextile Saturn and Neptune (they are conjunct) -- in short 8 of my planets are connected -- how do I sort out the effects of transits? So on any given day I can determine whether this is a good day for retreat or slamming about? Thank you for your help.

Hi Neptunia,

Thank you for your response.

I'm definitely in the disposition that everything is happening exactly the way it's supposed to.

What does IC mean in relation to the 4th house?

IC = Imum Coeli = 'lower midheaven'

Angles

- The angles are:

the ascendant
descendant
midheaven
and
Imum Coeli (or 'lower midheaven').

These mark the cusps of the 1st, 7th, 10th and 4th houses
also referred to as 'cardinal points'.

Planets close to angles are very prominent in their effects

There are as many opinions on how to 'sort out the effects of transits' as there are astrologers

Studying the following is helpful:
Rules of Interpretation of the astrological
chart determined by Morin de Villefranche
From Book XXI of his monumental twenty-six book exposition on Astrology called Astrologia Gallica

from the left margin

The 112 rules that comprise this resume
are a broad yet highly concise summary of Morin's Book XXI
and provide an invaluable aid for those who would like to apply Morin's approach to horoscope interpretation.
