I actually think this nomination is a good thing.

Firstly, it will help the Democrats take back the Senate due to its effect on some extremely close Senate races.

But, MOST importantly, it will be of some comfort to those who will be devastated when Biden wins the Election, and prevent an excess of anger and resentment.
