Eclipsed moon (or sun, for that matter...) is far too localized usually and infrequent an astronomical observation/epoch to explain the high frequency of depression of any and all degrees seen all over the world, and increasingly prevalent over the decades and perhaps longer observation periods...?

Depression is a widely prevalent problem in modern world and must be treated by experts who are well-trained and experienced in that area. Others, may cause more problems, damage, and delay in what is often manageable if proper and timely help is sought! Best to address the situation early, before it becomes malignant and worse...!
