Those traits sound like Leo (I'm a Leo!). ;P
And you don't have any Leo in your chart, nor Aquarius (its opposite).
Virgo, is next to Leo -- so possibly they could be referring to Intellectual arrogance?
The other thing is that Scorpio and Leo energy, can be astonishingly similar.
By the way -- Did a Leo accuse of of being this way? If so, it's likely a projection of their own nature!

It is a courtesy on this forum to post your chart. I couldn't get yours to open. It is hard to get a visual mental picture of a chart through reading a list of planetary placements.

Any chance a jealous coworker told you this? There is a line between arrogonce and just accepting your superior skill in an area, and scorpio influences tend to be the latter. Your chart overall suggests an impressive work ethic and ambition.

Vitas,

maybe it's because every question you post starts with what about "me" or "i". If you approach people on the outside with the same me, me, me attitude, people may soon feel you are prideful or arrogant.

Your taurus ASC is nicely trine your virgo sun and merc in 5th - this could suggest you enjoy your own coversation and feel pleased with youself Start by showing some real interest in someone other than yourself....and see what happens

Wink Re: Why do people think I'm cocky/prideful/arrogant? etc... Any natal indicators?

I stand by my initial thought that it is intellectual arrogance, that they're referring to. What do you think?

You've got:
Mercury square Uranus -- wild ideas! ;P
Mercury Trine Mars -- not afraid of debate.
Mercury Trine Ac -- known for speaking, speaking up.
Mercury Opposition Jupiter -- known for speaking too much (or not enough), and being dogmatic about your views -- opinionated?!

Your Sun-Mercury in Virgo conjunction squares your Jupiter and the apex of this t-square is Uranus in Sagittarius. Sadges can come across as righteous. That their word, IS the word. It is also in the 8th house of the unknown, and uncharted waters -- where you enjoy hanging out! ;D

Gemini (more speaking LOL) is but one release solution of this t-square. Hmmm... not much of a release. ;P It's a damned if you do, and damned if you don't scenario...

The Sun (our identity, ego) was transiting the apex at the time your chart was erected -- probably making you more self-conscious. And tr Mercury conjunct na Saturn would suggest that some serious communication was going on. Someone questioned you, or made you have an unusual pause-for-thought. A lady friend?

Then again, your question was asked in August and your chart erected in December... LOL
I think I was looking for something, and came across your post (that had nothing to do with what I was searching for. Ha!). Maybe you'll get some action on your question now! Weee....

Re: Why do people think I'm cocky/prideful/arrogant? etc... Any natal indicators?

Vitas, I tend to agree with Jesse-- does everybody tell you about your "faults" as you describe them? Or only certain people? Given your sex and age, probably half of your demographic cohort could be described the same way!

Also, I note your birth location. Non-New Yorkers in general tend to see folks from The City as aggressive, and if you have moved away from your birth location you may be facing a cultural disconnect from the people who surround you now. (I just had a graphic example of the "NYC personality", when my husband and I took a long train trip, returning from a family visit for Christmas, and sat across from a New Yorker. Compared to people where I have lived most of my life, he seemed rather opinionated and bossy.)

With your sun conjunct Mercury in Virgo and 7th house Saturn, I wonder if the real issue is that people (rightly or wrongly) see you as very critical of them, even if you think you are merely being honest and straight-talking. With your moon-Pluto-Venus conjunction in Scorpio, you probably come across to others as very intense, even when, to you, you are just being your normal self.

There is probably a bit of a psychologist to your nature, actually; but if people haven't asked for your advice, they may react badly when you give it as a straight-shooter.

With that moon-Venus sextiling Neptune and 5th house focus, you probably are very creative and basically optimistic about life, and may become impatient with pessimistic people whose talents lie in non-creative directions.

I think Inline has given you good advice-- you have the capacity to be a good listener (Virgo sun-Mercury) and to tune in profoundly to other people's feelings (Scorpio moon,) so if you can make yourself a student of the other people you encounter, you should get along with them just fine. You have nothing to prove, Vista, so you can let the people around you expand in your presence.

Re: Why do people think I'm cocky/prideful/arrogant? etc... Any natal indicators?

The a.m. aspects mostly comprise an asymmetrical "red" Kite (since your Moon apex/midpoints the Merc 90 Uran, automatically meaning your Moon also 135's Jup).

As I'm sure you know, having both luminaries and Merc influenced in this manner from Jup and Uran can well indicate the mentioned attributes and, to boot, Sat's 30 from the Moon might add a touch of somberness which can be mis-interpreted as (over)confidence in the context of the mental expression-style of that red Kite.

Counter-balancing aspects include your tightest (at 4 min orb), the Sun tri-decile Nept.

Re: Why do people think I'm cocky/prideful/arrogant? etc... Any natal indicators?

Hi. I think the aspects in the t square have already been well described, but the term 't square' hasn't come up as far as I noticed. To have the Sun in a 'hard aspect' configuration with both Jupiter and Uranus suggests a possibility of a manner of self-expression which could be perceived as arrogant. With Mercury - conjunct the Sun and ruling the Sun also - being part of the t square, there is a strong suggestion of this being connected with communication. Since Mercury, Jupiter and Uranus are all connected with knowledge, the alleged arrogance may come out especially strongly when you communicate ideas, or when you respond to the ideas of others, as has been pointed out already.

Perhaps one way to understand what is going on is to note that the Sun and Mercury rule personal signs, while Jupiter and Uranus rule social signs. So you identify with something bigger than yourself in a dynamic (t square) way. An interchange between rulers of personal and social signs doesn't always have such a marked effect, but here we are dealing with the Sun - symbolising something within the individual which aspires to some sense of significance - and social sign rulers which are yang and outgoing by nature. The opposition occurring across the 5th/11th houses adds to this, resulting in a chart which hints at some degree of inflation, despite the natural humility of Virgo, and yet at the same time perhaps the effects is increased by a certain Virgoan aloofness, which is possibly added to by the 7th house Saturn.

Meanwhile Mars also contacts the opposition from Saturn's sign Capricorn - Mars being the other fiery ruler of a personal sign along side the Sun.

The Scorpio emphasis could also be significant, especially since Venus rules the ascendant from this sign. You may over-compensate for emotional vulnerability by putting on a more confident front - and by emphasising the t square part of your personality. And there may be a proud stubbornness which comes from your Scorpio side which may also be relevant to your question.

Its important to remember that you fulfil a particular need in the groups and collectives of which you are a part by expressing these energies. Whether you need to modify how the energy comes out obviously isn't something that anyone could justifiably comment on without knowing you very well.

Hi Vitas. Not sure what those words mean at the start of your post. I'm ok - have been staying away from the forum for long periods to make more time to try to write a book. There's still some way to go, so I'm going to focus on that again after today, but will be back on the forum again at some point. Hope things are good with you.

Venus conjunct Pluto is intense and intimidating energy. You also have three planets in Scorpio and Mars is aspect to Mercury. Your Mars and Mercury are both exalted and very strong...so could come across in an intimidating manner. You probably are not one to mince words - precise and cutting, definitely no sugar coating with you. A lot of people are not comfortable hearing it "like it is" and prefer their dose of reality sprinkled with Neptune on top. Additionally, lack of Saturn aspects could possibly indicate you do not show restraint, so perhaps you are not aware of how you come across at all. I'm a beginner so this is just my passing opinion.

Haha as a New Yorker I can attest to this. I actually am currently in the suburbs of London and just got a manicure - the technician seemed very irritated that I was speaking up about things she wasn't doing - like filing in a straight line and cutting my cuticles. If I'm paying for a service I expect it to be done properly. I suppose this is why services are a little more meticulous in NYC...more competition via business and also hustling for tips. However, I can be bossy and am outspoken. If people are perceiving you in a way you are not comfortable with it is time to either modify your actions or just accept how you come across and deal with the consequences. It's fairly simple. Crying about how you have been betrayed and mistreated isn't going to change the outcome.

The 30 (semi-sextile), 108 (tri-decile) and 135 (sesquiquadrate) aspects to which my post refers are read-upable on the net (sorry, thought your post #'s indicated expertise).

as for the asymmetrical Kite among your mentioned planets, drawing it out freehand on a piece of paper will be helpful for focus if not having a home astro computer program.

Vitas, I am starting to see the problem. I didn't note you saying "thank you" to anyone who spent the time and energy to read your chart. Some people would find this behaviour a bit arrogant.

Saying thank you to bunch of individuals who only say bad things or negative things about me and my chart? I don't think so it doesn't work like that....

Re: Why do people think I'm cocky/prideful/arrogant? etc... Any natal indicators?

I'm glad to see you're here making a conscious effort and attempt at change. I like to pretend I'm a philosopher and I wrote a little quote. I think I must have written it for you
"Love creates, hate destroys. Pain is the need for love where there is destruction. If you find yourself in a painful world, it is your heart telling you to get creative and make a new one."

Virgo sun scorpio moon combinations are great for researchers. Not to mention your the 10 fold increased intensity with the moon being conjunct pluto, AND in the 3rd house. The 6th house is often only referred to as the health house, but it's more than that. All mutable houses are psychological, and the 6th deals with service and organization. A detailed breakdown and examination of details and facts for some reason of service. This combined with the long term goal oriented, practical planning and determined mars in capricorn in the 9th house of philosophy and education, as well as saturn (who rules your tenth house of career and status) in philosophic sag in the 7th house of partnership, the public, and one-on-one transactions make you a strong teacher and researcher I think.
There's so much more to just those planet positions, but that's what was on my mind.

Another interesting thing to note is that you have your sun/mercury conjunction involved in a t-square. Sun/merc oppose jupiter, both square uranus. You must have a high capacity for sudden self expansion. Sun oppose jupiter mean you reach out for growth and expansion of "the self" and "mind," and both squared uranus so it can be in sudden, unusual, and unexpected ways. Your sun is also trine your mars as well as your Ascendant, so I'd imagine the change might come easy for you, in some ways at least. As long as you keep your intense brooding (and possibly sexual deviant) emotions under check and don't let criticizing people get the best of you, you have the potential to become very successful.

Keep in mind as you learn astrology that you will hear many different interpretations, and they're all about someone choice of keywords, and projections of experiences they've had. Astrology is all about cycles of energy, and there really is no aspect in your chart that can tell you if you're arrogant or not. It's all how you react to and utilize that energy. Astrology can help you understand that energy, but it doesn't choose your attitude about it.

Re: Why do people think I'm cocky/prideful/arrogant? etc... Any natal indicators?

Hi Vitas. The strong hatred for humanity that you speak of can be turned around I'm sure. Jupiter in Pisces and Uranus are very idealistic, and so perhaps unable to accept the dark side of human nature, which your Scorpio side is so aware of. And yet ironically your own Scorpionic intensity of feeling probably intensifies the way you experience and express this idealism.

While Scorpio can be proud, it isn't a 'cocky' energy. As I mentioned above, any tendencies towards arrogance could be in part a defense against Scorpionic feelings of vulnerability. I wonder if, deep down, you experience some degree of self-loathing, but find it easier to look for loathsome qualities in the world around you than to look within. There is such a huge potential shown in this chart to have a healing effect on humanity - the vision of the Jupiter Uranus grounded through the Sun, Mercury and Mars in earth signs, plus the ability of Scorpio to understand and thus heal the fear and suffering which drives people to act destructively. But to fully realise this potential, you may need to make peace with your own dark side, including the vulnerability which is part of it.

Thanks for the encouragement with the book. I hope 2014 is a good year for you.

Vitas, I don't get your oh-so sensitive reply. I haven't seen anyone here saying bad or negative things about your chart. I do see people (myself included) putting in the time and effort to give you straight talk and an honest reading as they see it. You are the one who asked for feedback, not just "strokes" about yourself.

Your comment suggests that you are OK only with praise? How do you feel about honest feedback? Like the kind that might actually answer your OP?

Man up, Dude.

The world is what you teach. You can allow that mentality to perpetually exist by becoming it, or you can learn the importance of love. The world is being destroyed by people who don't care.

Poyi, excellent advice. I did just that and I lmao-ed!

I'm almost speechless. Those posts will definitely confirm the title of this thread. Actually, vitas' sense of entitlement (among other egotistical attributes) is shocking. That won't go over well on any forum, especially the demand for answers after admitting an unwillingness to do research.

I'm very interested to see how far this goes.

LOL... Delete the part about transits...

I stand by my initial thought that it is intellectual arrogance, that they're referring to. What do you think?

You've got (these ARE your natal aspects -- not transits!!):

Much love xx

True but it's easier to stay in the dark in a world of shadows then fight with the light when the darkness overshadows the light.....
