No you didn't. You didn't answer a thing. You posted a link - which shows your lack of knowledge in economics.

Give me an example of a succesful socialist reform and how it benefited the economy of a country.

Dirius, there you go again, off on another tangent where you somehow hope to be on a firmer footing.

If you wish to succeed at this kind of rhetorical strategy shouldn't you be less obvious about it?

Given your penchant for playing games, I see no reason to spend hours indulging you when a linked article gives you information in much more detail.

So who's a socialist around here?

Not I.

It's either free market or socialist retardation.

Oh wait, you're a moderate so people can't pin you down. You can disagree with everyone and everything, hold random arbitrary principles when it suits your needs, and let go of those principles as soon as you have to defend them.

Clever, but evil and destructive. It's really easy to criticize, but hard to give real solutions.

There are none in english. Can you understand spanish?

Alas, no. I can read Some French and German at an elementary level. Maybe you've got some articles in those languages.

Or maybe you could do some more research and locate English language articles.

Then again, maybe this is a thread about Osamenor's aunt on Facebook.

Actually I call myself an independent.

So you oppose independent thinking?

No waybread we speak spanish here. They don't make studies in other languages.

Too bad you can't speak more than one language.

There may be some international studies on the subject, but I'm not exactly well read on those.

No sense proving the obvious. If I said "the sky is blue, when it's not dark or gray", you'd demand proof of that.

Basic point is, the Economy is supposed to serve the Nation. The Nation isn't supposed to serve the Economy.

Btw, New Zealand does have a much needed Welfare system.

Noticed how she went after your personal life?

Even though your employment status would have no impact on the subject at hand.

Well, you seem to think employment status has a huge impact on one's right to express an opinion. Heaven help those poor civil servants who must be forever silenced.

[Oh, and if you can read this, thank a teacher.]

So like waybread, you can't produce data to back-up your statements.

Did you even read the list of virtues that I posted? lol

Besides, that's an equivocation. Being an independent from a political party is different from thinking for yourself.

Dirius, academics frequently study countries other than their own. Ditto for think tank economists, and [gasp, shudder] multi-national agencies.

I call my language skills "street German" or "cereal box French." [Kind of a joke in Canada, with our bilingual food packaging.]

I never said that.

I just said there is a diference between those who work for the private sector, and those who work for the government.

Those who work for the government, tend to have socialist views. They like they idea of a government providing them with a job - otherwise they wouldn't be able to make it on the private sector.

People who work on the private sector, don't have need for government. This is why we tend to have more libertarian views.

The numbers are in linked articles, Dirius.

Which you don't read.

Your arguments are mighty thin on the ground so far as references go.
