I don't like my Chinese sign, it reminds me of the evil snake in the bible, though that one was probably yang. =P Still I think the Emerald is my favorite of the ones you listed.

Pallas-trine-Mars, if you believe the Emerald is your favorable gem stone then it is. Why do you feel bad about your sign? The Snake is very respected by Eastern cultures. Everything is so relative in astrology. What may be bad for you, may be good for someone else.

I believe astrology works well only as an inspirational and motivational tool. One should add his/her own interpretation and meaning. Why? Because everyone is different and has unique attributes.
