So, astrologers, who is the best team in (American) football, and why is it the Pats?

I cannot see how beating the Eagles adds any accolades to the Pats. Philadelphia is a 2nd rate team in their best years and always has been.

Patriots' 10th super bowl appearance (1986 loss, 1997 loss, 2002 won, 2004 won, 2005 won, 2008 loss, 2012 loss, 2015 won and 2017 won in overtime).

They're 5-5 in SB record, about 50% or half the record.

4 NFL teams have better SB records.
* San Francisco 49ers-NFC (5-1, at 83%)
* Dallas Cowboys-NFC (5-3, at 62.5%)
* Pittsburgh Steelers-AFC (6-2, at 75%)
and Denver Broncos-AFC (3-5, at 37.5%)

Minnesota Vikings-NFC went 4 times, but not win. And Buffalo Bills'-AFC 4 in a row, yet they never win anything.

The Patriots or Pats is one of the best 4 AFC teams and least not forget the Green Bay Packers of the NFC (one of best 4 NFC teams) was the best NFL team before the first super bowl in 1967 which is over half a century ago, they won 4-1 in SB record (80%) .
