Transiting South Node conjunct natal Sun

Hi All

I am a returning member and have never posted anything. I would just read other posts. All my other friends who were Astrologer have died and I feel so alone as I would like to ask for their comfirmation or denial.

I have been an astrologer since the early 1970's so have been around for a long time. However I do not feel as sharp mentally as I used to be.

A friend had asked me to find a good day for his wife to have a hip replacement surgery done this year as his deductable had already been met.

I therefore dug out all my notes and books on medical astrology and found the best days for this kind of surgery in the months of Oct, Nov and Dec.

Then I looked at her chart and immediately saw that there was going to be a terrible problem trying to find a good day FOR HER.

Her natal ASC is 25 Scorpio opposite the natal Sun at 24 Taurus 56 located in her 6th house of health. Now we have 2 eclipes coming up in November. A solar eclipse at 22 Scorpio on the 13th and a lunar eclipse 2 weeks later at 7 Gemini conjunct her natal Venus at 3 Gemini in her 7th house which is the ruler of her natal Sun.

I advised him to wait and try not to influence his wife to have her surgery at this time, since she has waited for several years now, a few more months will not matter.

I feel that with the South Node transiting over her natal Sun in her 6th house of health this is not the best time for her to be having surgery but she should wait until next year.

Am I correct that she should wait until after the Nodes have left her natal Sun she could have a better outcome having her hip replaced?

I also know that next year after the election here in the USA Medicare and Medicaid are going to stop doing a lot of these types of surgeries but are not telling the public at large about it. My friend works for a large hospital here in the USA and is in a position to know these things. Fortunately he does have insurance but it will still be a financal loss for him. He says the most important thing is her health not the money.

Yes, Saturn in Scorpio is already showing in what areas we will be interested in, death, taxes, insurance, sex, and control of our intense emotions.

Thank you very much in advace for any help any of you can offer on this matter. I really miss my astrologer friends who I used to discuss these matters with.

I also am not used to using tags and other things like emotions so forgive me for not using them. It will take a while to get used to them.

Transitting nodes are not valid and especially the south node. With medical advice you need to be extremely proficient and very careful about what you say. The 12th house is hospitalisation and Mars is surgery. Saturn is our skeletal structure and Jupiter rules the hips. The 6th house denotes our diet and nutrition, digestion, in particular and general health and hygiene matters. Doctors we consult are the 7th house and the specialists are the 10th house. So it is complex and dealing with transits requires lots of experience and knowledge.

I would advise posting the chart in question and making sure the time of birth is right, and then we can have a look and give some advice perhaps.

Dear Claire19

Thank you for answering my request. That is why I am asking for help. Here is the natal birth data.

Female needs hip surgery
15 May 1957
8:02 PM
Blue Island, Illinois U.S.A
087 W 41
41 N 30
Time Zone 05:00 CDT

She has just been declared legally blind and right now lives in Illinois whereas her husband is living in the South due to work requirements. He just asked me to find a good day for her to have her hip surgery.

I thought with her transits she needed to wait until her husband could be with her as she is living on her own. If she came down here (where her husband is working) to have her surgery she would be living in reduced circumstances. Although a friend has said she could stay with her while she recovered (here in the south) I thought that she might need more time to recover. Her children are living in the North and she is very attached to them.

I also know the the Nodes always relate to other people in your life and relationships. This new friend that has offered to help her as just suffered a great loss as her husband had just shot and killed himself last month. The friend is a nurse and knows how to take care of people who have had this kind of surgery.

I also considered this in my decision to tell him that I could not give him a good day for her to have surgery and suggested that he consult another astrologer versed in medical astrology.

He declined to consult another astrologer. That is why I have posted my request. I am sorry I do not know how to include a copy of the chart on this web site.

Thank you very much for your kind attention to my request Claire19. You are most kind in doing so.

Cheers!
Colleen
