Australian's feel there is a crisis of Leadership in Government

What will the next TWO years running up to the scheduled 2012 election have in store

  • Labor minority govt will fall and be returned in a minority Govt

    Votes: 0 0.0%
  • Labor minority Govt will fall and be returned with majority

    Votes: 0 0.0%
  • Labor minority Govt falls, Greens increase numbers in senate with Labor returned

    Votes: 0 0.0%

  • Total voters
    1
  • Poll closed .
I recently read that Australian's are fast looking faith in their elected leaders, saying Government is becoming ineffective and weak. This is creating a sense of unease for the future of the country. This seems to be illustrated for the first time during the last federal election, when the Labor party held on with a minority Government with support from the Greens and Independents.

Since the election, we have had wikileaks, Australian's becoming frustrated with the lack of assistance provided to Julian Assange, and Gillards speech to the US congress (which made us all cringe). This PM seems to becoming very unpopular, and to top that off she begins an attack on the Greens, the party which she needs support from to maintain Government.

Canada just had a minority Govt fall last week, is Australia headed down the same route?

I haven't time at the mo' to consider the astrology, but did you watch Q&A on Monday night? It's almost as though K-Rudd is preening, ready to give it another go, despite his protestations that he's `very happy' as Foreign Minister. Labor will get rolled if Gillard is their only option. She has listened to the wrong advice all through her prime ministership, and has come out looking like the Ginger Puppet, rather than the Ginger Ninja.

IMO, politicians are still acting as though it is 1975, and have lost sight of the fact that we can see through their lies, posturing and `promises'.

Tony Abbott is not an electable option, since he has about as much charisma as a bowling ball.

As a nation we have a need to feel pride when our leaders visit places like Washington DC. In the first instance, we need them to not make us cringe when out in public.
