new joiner just saying hi and 1 question about the site

Hi everyone/anyone
just joined as I have so many questions re: some of my natal chart and discovered this site on my search for lesser explained stuff online so hopefully I will be able to chat with some other members soon about various things.

I will first take a look at existing posts in case someone already asked/answered somethings I am curious on.

my 1 question is re: attatching natal charts in posts.. I have my natal chart calculated from a few sites, would I just attatch a link to 1 of those or do I need to do it in another way? I dont want to break any forum rules right off the bat or do it wrong.

thanks for reading and hopefully will be chatting with some members soon :-)

Re: new joiner just saying hi and 1 question about the site

Sinnais,

Welcome to the forum!

You have to upload your chart separately each time you post it. You can post it as an image no matter what kind of device you're using, or, if you're using a laptop or desktop computer, you can post it as an attachment. Our step by step guide is here: https://www.astrologyweekly.com/foru...ead.php?t=1171

Links to websites usually don't work for chart posting. If the site you're using is astrodienst, which is our usual go to, posting a link to your chart takes people to their own account if they're logged in and to the log in page if they're not. It doesn't take anyone to your chart except you. Other sites might work differently, but typically, if you just post a link, it doesn't show people your chart.

Hi Siannais welcome

https://www.astrologyweekly.com/foru...d.php?t=126556

members are given the designation "Senior Member"
after posting a certain number of comments
not that many

keep in mind that
because ours is an astrological learning forum
where members practice astrological skills free
no one is paid
therefore
responses to threads
are often from members who are beginners like yourself
with little or no experience
keen to learn by practice
members are encouraged to discuss interpreting their own charts to learn by practice
we also have members with many years of astrological study completed
members have day jobs
and those of our members who are professionals
do not provide a complete professional reading for free

our ELECTIONAL AND EVENT ASTROLOGY BOARD

is at https://www.astrologyweekly.com/foru...isplay.php?f=6

these are instructions
HOW TO ATTACH A CHART
TO YOUR POST ON THE FORUM

MOBILE

1) Once you generate the chart image using your favourite website, copy the image address

2) Upload the image to Imgur using the following URL:

https://imgur.com/upload

3) Once the chart is uploaded to Imgur, click on 'Copy' or 'Embed Post'

4) Paste the Imgur image location to forum post

Quote:
DESKTOP
1) Once you generate the chart image using your favourite website, copy the image address

2) Click on the Attachment icon (if you don't see it, select 'Advanced' posting first)

3) New window will open, paste the image address, click Upload button, close the window

if that is for some reason not possible
then
another option is, after creating the natal chart
then save the chart to your desktop
then when on the thread click to edit your post
then scroll down to the Attach Files box
then click on Manage Attachments
and follow the instructions on the screen to upload your chart that way

some navigation tips:

all are welcome - whether a TRADITIONAL astrologer or a MODERNIST astrologer
and
our forum hosts BOTH perspectives ON SEPARATE BOARDS

i.e.
our MODERN BOARD completely excludes traditional astrological comment
and
our TRADITIONAL BOARD completely excludes Modernist astrological comment

i.e.
We have a modernist board AS WELL AS a traditional board
and then
the rest of our forum is composed of GENERAL ASTROLOGY THREADS

i.e.
whether a member is using Vedic astrology
Chinese astrology, Western Sidereal Astrology, Modernist Astrology Traditional Astrology
ALL perspectives are welcomed on our General Astrology board threads
and any member
may comment on our GENERAL ASTROLOGY BOARD using ANY astrological methodology

our HELP WITH FORUMS AND SUGGESTIONS board is at
https://www.astrologyweekly.com/foru...splay.php?f=22

to be clear then
our TRADITIONAL ASTROLOGY ONLY board
is at
http://www.astrologyweekly.com/forum...splay.php?f=92

For discussions on Traditional Astrology only.
Note: Typically, traditional astrology is defined as using techniques developed prior to 1700 by astrologers from the Hellenistic, Persian, Hebrew, and Renaissance eras.
Specifically it relies on Ptolemaic aspects sextile, trine, square, opposition and conjunction
and excludes modern planets Neptune, Uranus and Pluto
non-Ptolemaic aspects, as well as any asteroids.
The focus is less on what would be considered modern psychological chart interpretation
and more on prediction.
Members who wish to explore a combination of traditional and modern ideas
should feel free to start a new thread in an appropriate forum for further discussion.

our MODERNIST ASTROLOGY ONLY board
is at https://www.astrologyweekly.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=95
For discussions on Modern Astrology only.
Note: Typically, modern astrology is defined as using techniques developed around the late 1800s by Theosophists.
Specifically it relies on psychological, evolutionary, karmic, and non-western interpretation approaches
and includes Neptune, Uranus and Pluto
and non-Ptolemaic aspects.
The focus is more on psychological chart interpretation instead of prediction.

Re: new joiner just saying hi and 1 question about the site

Accounts can't be deleted. If you want your account closed, the only person who can do it is pwadm, the site owner. Message him.

But please be aware that if you close your account, you will never be allowed to use this forum again. Once closed, accounts can't be reopened, and we don't allow duplicate accounts under any circumstances. If you have an existing account, even a closed one, creating another would be a duplicate.

If you want to leave yourself the possibility of using this forum again in the future, don't close your account. Just stop visiting. If you ever decide to come back, even if it's years from now, your account will still be there.
