I have this aspect and have been told that any kind of foreign travel, foreign partnerships or spiritual quests will be favored and protected. Has anyone ever heard this before or know if this is truth?

It is a potential contributing factor to such things (although I wouldn't put it so much for foreign partnerships).
But that doesn't make it necessarily true for any individual who has that. There will always be other factors in a chart that modify it, and maybe even totally negate it. It is giving +1 for that but if something else comes and gives -2 for that then the person will have the opposite.

It has taken some research but I've acquired information about this 12th house aspect. This was written by Carmen-Turner Schott:
