Calling all Vedic astrologers.....

I've been thinking about reqeusting this for some time, so I thought I'd seize the day. Most of the people on this forum are from the Western astrology school. Probably the vast majority of us are very unaware of how Vedic works.

My thought was that we could all learn by having the Vedic astrologers interpret a natal chart publicly on the forum. Since I have never had my chart interpreted from the Vedic perspective, I volunteer! I am fascinated by the little bits and pieces of Vedic that I have picked up from the different posts, but have never seen a whole chart interpreted.

Vedic astrologers! The spotlight is on you!:sunny:

My natal data is: November 28, 1965 in Charleston, WV USA at 9:32am.

Introduction

Your Vedic Astrology Report consists of 4 sections: an interpretation of the Moon nakshatra and Moon sign,
an analysis of yogas, a third section that describes various specific astrological influences in your chart, and an
appendix of technical details. Fortunately, you do NOT need to be an astrologer or know what a "Moon
nakshatra" is to read this report! If you are an astrologer or student of astrology, the astrological details are
described as well, and you can easily skip over these technical astrological details if they do not interest you.

In this report there are quotations from the following books:

"Yogas In Astrology" by Dr. K S Charak, 1999, published by UMA
Publications, 72 Gagan Vihat, Delhi-110 051, India

"Three Hundred Important Combinations" by B.V. Raman, 1997,
published by Motilal Banarsidass Publishers Private Limited,
Delhi, India

"Constellational Astrology" by Robert De Luce, 1963, De Luce
Publishing Company, Los Angeles, CA, USA

If you are interested in learning Vedic astrology, we highly recommend these 3 books. Only small sections that
are relevant to a particular astrological influence have been quoted from these books. These works are based on
the ancient Vedic writings (the Vedas) and have been elaborated upon and explained in terms that make sense for
modern people. "Constellational Astrology" is no longer in print, but the other two books can be purchased.

Important: The interpretations in this report are based on the ancient system of Vedic astrology.
Many of these interpretations are fatalistic and some are even extreme, frightening, and are now known
to be not literally correct! You should interpret the influences described here in more psychological and
general terms. Do not take the statements given in this report literally! The extreme and definite
interpretations in this report should be viewed as indicating psychological tendencies rather than
absolute facts. Also, modern astrologers believe that there is a negative and a positive potential in any
astrological influence. Even the most difficult astrological influence can be handled successfully, and an
astrological influence that might seem beneficial can be mishandled. Astrologers do claim to be able to
describe the important issues and themes in your life, but what is good or bad is mostly up to you.

Section I: The Moons Nakshatras and Rasi

Nakshatras are also known as lunar mansions. There are 27 nakshatras, and each one has a length of 13 degrees
and 20 minutes. The nakshatra position of the Moon is very important in Vedic astrology. Given below is the
meaning of the Moon's nakshatra and Moon sign (rasi) in your chart.

Moon in 22nd nakshatra:
The Moon is in Sravana, the twenty-second nakshatra (10 degrees to 23 deg 20 min of Capricorn). You have a
great curiosity and interest in all things, and you pursue higher education throughout your life. You are
broad-minded, associate with many different kinds of people, love to explore, and you are likely to become very
well-known and wealthy. Your marriage partner is likely to be liberal and broad-minded and be a big help to you.

Moon is in Capricorn rasi:
According to De Luce: "The native will be attached to his wife and sons (fond of possessions); will be interested in
all religious matters (form and authority); will be weak in the lower limbs (insufficient understanding, especially in
intuitive perception - Moon debilitated in Capricorn); will have good eyes (aware of what is going on), and a thin
waist (conservative); will understand and follow when once advised (not imaginative); will be liked by all and slow
at work (does things the hard way); will not be able to endure cold or chill (is not adaptable to change). He will
have wandering habits (attention vacillates); exceeding strength (persistence); will be an author; will be of a
niggardly disposition (not endowed with keen insight); and attached to old women of low caste (holds on to
outmoded or unworthy ideas); will be relentless and have no shame (dogged and insensitive)."

APPENDIX

Vedic astrology is an ancient system of astrological analysis practiced by many thousands of astrologers over
the centuries. Vedic astrology, like modern western astrology, has not been validated scientifically, and you should
think critically about the information provided to see if it appears to be accurate and relevant. No astrological
information should be blindly believed in. Astrology simply lacks the scientific proof that established sciences have.
On the other hand, many people have found astrology to be useful and helpful.

A technical note for astrologers:
In your report there are references to strong planets and weak planets. Different Vedic astrologers use different
methods to determine when a planet is strong. In this report the shadbala strength is used to determine the strength
of the planet. Shadbala strength is determined through a lengthy series of calculations which is too complicated to
explain in this review. A planet is considered to be VERY STRONG when its shadbala strength is at least 540
points (or virupas, which is what it is commonly called in Vedic Astrology), STRONG when its shadbala strength is
at least 480 points, WEAK when its shadbala strength is 360 points or less, VERY WEAK when its shadbala
strength is 300 points or less.

Benefics and Malefics:

There are different systems for determining when a planet is benefic or malefic. In this report Venus, Jupiter, waxing
Moon, and well associated Mercury (not in the same house with a natural malefic, or not within 10 degrees of the
Sun) are considered to be a benefic. The Sun, Mars, Saturn, Rahu, Ketu, the waning Moon and poorly associated
Mercury (Mercury is in the same house as a natural malefic, or is within 10 degrees of Sun) are considered to be
malefics. This method of determining whether a planet is benefic or malefic is known as natural benefics and
malefics.

Vargas (Divisional charts):
There are a total of sixteen divisional charts. They are Rasi, Hora, Drekkana, Saptamsa, Navamsa,
Dwadasamsa, Trimsamsa, Dashamsha, Shodhashamsha, Shashtiamsha, Vimshamsha, Chaturtamsha or Turyamsha,
Chaturvimsha or Siddhamsha, Saptavimshamsha or Bhamsha, Khavedamsh or Swawedamsha, and
Akshavedamsha.

Vargas used: When not specified which varga is being used, the first seven vargas (Rasi, Hora, Drekkana,
Saptamsa, Navamsa, Dwadasamsa, and Trimsamsa) are considered in calculation.
Favorable vargas: A planet is in its own or exaltation sign in a divisional chart.
Unfavorable or evil vargas: A planet is in the rasi of its fall in a divisional chart.
Parijatamsa: Planet has to be in a favorable sign in two out of seven divisional charts.
Gopurasamsa: Planet has to be in a favorable sign in four out of seven divisional charts.
Simhasamsa: Planet has to be in a favorable sign in five out of seven divisional charts.
Paravatamsa: Planet has to be in a favorable sign in six out of seven divisional charts.

Re: Calling all Vedic astrologers.....

Thank you, Michael! That is a very long report! It'll take awhile to go through all that! I'm not really familiar with Vedic terms (actually I'm not at all!), so I can basically only understand when it gives an explanation in layman's terms.
I need the Reader's Digest condensed version at this point! LOL I will go through your report and verify any accuracies in my life, for everyone's edification.

Again, much thanks, Michael!

The moon's nakshatras and rasi are very insightful. In my case
it was incredibly accurate. However all those yogas are hard
to understand, they are so many and so contradictory. Here
comes in handy an experienced vedic astrologer.

To have an idea what is a good reading, check this vedic
astrology analysis for Hindu guru Osho:

No, you are right. The point is that I'm not good on vedic astrology.
And wanted to help freedomlover. It seems he liked the report.

Well, it was a bit much for an absolute beginner! However, I could see that you were trying to be helpful by providing information - so I took it in the spirit in which it was intended. And there were some very interesting explanations in it just from my brief scan. When I have time, I will go through it in more detail. The thought was very much appreciated, Michael.

Sandeep,

You wrote:

:38:This just proves my point! I thought Nadi was a branch of Vedic! The actual idea behind this thread was to get more information out of all of you Indian/ Eastern astrologers, whatever you call yourselves. (I thought it was all Vedic.) We Western astrologers know virtually nothing about your systems as a whole. Therefore I thought using a regular natal chart as a beginning point- would give us all a good working example of basic chart interpetation using the system you guys use. Some of us may want to learn Vedic(Indian, Eastern) but don't much about it. Seeing a working example may intrigue some enough to study it more. Just a thought....

Anyway, yes, Sandeep, I would be very, very interested in seeing it interpreted the Nadi way. This fits my idea for the thread perfectly!

(By the way, the laughing emoticon is pointing at me, not you!)

Re: Calling all Vedic astrologers.....

hey fl
no offence to you, i can dissect your chart too, but if we are going to put this as a demo, then we must put a chart or profile, who all knows and can relate to, someone famous.
Very few people would know about you, so even if i say..you're a billionaire FL, nobody would blink . so its best to put a known chart, maybe someone from your side, who we indians don't know much..for eg James dean ...(from an earlier post) and then i can dissect it and tell how to go about it.

According to the Birth details you are Sagittarius ascendant with Mars and Venus posited in there, some of the traits that are active in you are ambitious, greedy, and have high aspiration, and face bad situations with force. You are unable to take quick decisions, you love the truth, you stick to their principals. You in times are intuitive. You love freedom and love to give it to people; you donít easily handle bad people or people with bad expressions. You get bored quickly, optimistic, Suddenly you get impatient and no one knows why, in times some hidden feelings arises in you that you yourself donít know its source.
Venus is unable to function as it is in the last degree of the sign and can be said to be paralyzed in Vedic system. Mars and Saturnís position are giving you power and ability to control and somehow forceful nature, thought the ascendant Lord the Greatest benefic Jupiter is influencing your ascendant and sending some Sattwik qualities and softening the influence of Mars. You seem to face Financial and career setbacks.
There are some influences in the coming period not very soon but in the near future that hold some opportunities that seems to be good but that I can only say in my full report also you can get many predictions for the past present and future periods including a full detailed personality report.
Your school childhood could have created difficulties and some hatred may still be flowing from that part of your life.
You face lot of enemies but the Planets granted you the power to control the situations.
Since the year 1997-1998 you have been under the influence of Jupiter and that was somehow creating a protective and supportive influence on your career, dignity, and family relations now in the coming influence all is changed not to bad or good but different!

Hi All,
This is a brief sample for interpretation of Princes Di. natal chart from the vedic astrology perspective.

Princess Diana North Indian Chart.jpg

Lagna Sign is: Scorpio
Lady Diana has Scorpio Rising with her Ascendant this gives her a strong character and able to be independent, commanding and feel the ability and need to Lead.
She had strong will, was emotional by nature and brave.
This may not be obvious to the public but she was and had the ability to take revenge in some special situations.
She was an assured person, happy with intimate people only when they are under her power.
In many times she could have putt all her energy in one place and sometimes forget about many things, or she may ignore them.
She can influence people and putt them on her side, she also feelís happy when hidden, she is secretive, and like secret in many things.

Moon Sign is: Aquarius
Lady Diana also had her Moon sign in Aquarius which gave her Unpredictable actions and a mind who develops, very imaginative.
She could be in most of the times not practical and lack common sense, but donít admit that although often her ideas can be unconventional. She creates ideas that are of the modern time. Possessiveness makes her feel trapped. Casual companion and relationships are much more comfortable for her because they do not impose so many demands. She was good at observing and analyzing others, but in times she lacked a true understanding of the needs and feelings that other people have. She was a friend to all but she made sure she is detached and not too personal with people and friend. She is humanitarian.
In many peoples eyes are often seen as unusual person.

Her Basic Motivation is in action, she was born to perform actions that can be fruitful.
Often she was restricted in expressing her needs to perform her dreams because of some the ascendant lord being weak.

Her Moon (Mind) was badly inflicted by many planets, this insures that she could hardly find rest she would worry a lot and lack the warmth and true trust and love from near and dear ones as her 4th house also is damaged.

Her 7th house contains the 7th lord Venus to some astrologers that would denote a powerful combination although Venus has some special position although placed in her sign but it is equal to debilitation. (Her 7th house Bhavat Bhavam also weak that means a bad married life.)
In Navamsa the Sun and Saturn are in the ascendant navamsa also the 7th lord in Navamsa is with Saturn, there is an aspect from Jupiter but that will not be stronger from the conjunction of the 7th lord with Saturn, to sum the malefic aspects exceeds the benefic influences in the navamsa ascendant and the 7th house and its lord. That is not good for married life

Also her 8th house contains the Sun and Mercury this could give some drive towards accidents, unexpected events and misfortune and some attraction towards the mystery part of life and also to involve in secret affairs.
In Tracking Lady Dianaís life she does not seem to have lived a happy life at home, country and marriage.
Princes she was but only to the outside, in reality that title also did not give her what she needed and wanted, which was love.
Yamaghantaka in the ascendant gave her an attractive and lovely personality which all loved.
Upaketu distressed her married life. Kala damaged her Ascendant lord, health and longevity.
Her Atmakaraka is placed in the 8th house thus also in a bad position and could not protect her.
Her Dara Karaka also is damaged and weak this is related to her married life which was not successful.

According to the birth date and time of Princes Diana she is an Alpayu.
In Vedic Astrology Alpayu comes out of some planetary combination and it generally means a short life up to 32 years.
2nd her Ascendant lord is Mars placed in Leo in very near conjunction with Rahu the restricting planet in the 10th house insured a weak and problematic ascendant although she enjoyed the placement of her ascendant in the 10th house as well giving her power and glory to some extent.
She was in an extremely weak Dasa and her Dasa lord is placed in bad position in according to ascendant and ascendant lord. The Ashtakvarga of the 7th and 2nd houses are week and where transited by Saturn and Jupiter who are placed in transit in Makara Signs. (Death inflicting signs).

Re: Calling all Vedic astrologers.....

Hey I'm resurrecting this forum, if Freedom Lover is still interested. I too want to learn about Vedic, I have a couple of computer generated reports from a few years ago, and I can either paste them here and we can talk about them and see what we can gather, or we can just talk generally and put in bits of our own research.

From my knowledge Vedic seems to be very technical and thorough, so we might as well do it step by step and take our time...

Re: Calling all Vedic astrologers.....

I just searched Sidereal Astrology and Vedic astrology for the heck of it, I really didn't think anyone here was interested in it but I took a chance and gave it a shot. Before getting to this thread, I found two other threads also. I happen to think that Sidereal/Vedic Astrology is very accurate. Really accurate in fact.
