Dancer in Need of Direction!

Hi!

I'm a dancer (among many other things), who wants to know what my chart says about starting my own company. I'm in my mid thirties and feel that time is of the essence...I've been performing here and there, but no real substantial opportunities have come up. I'm concerend years could continue to go by while I get an audition here and there, yet find myself in the same place...

Dance is a very strong passion of mine. I want to commit my life to this passion, in some way shape, or form.I've been thinking about some business ideas...fusing dance with media and using social media to create a backdrop to present my work etc...

Looking at my chart, what are the pros and cons of striking out on my own as an independent artist and building my OWN artistic vision? Thanks!

K

Re: Dancer in Need of Direction!

mercury ruling Asc and MC and conjunct MC suggests communications is a must for your career, with the opposition to neptune in 3rd suggests good imagination and poss writing flair.

Your Jupiter is a singletonn due to being the only planet in earth element, which your chart lacks, but having 4planets in earth houses and earth on Asc, should help with this...

Singleton planets
“If a planet happens to be the only one in an element, quality, or house type, that planet is a Singleton and it can funnel all of the “energy” of the horoscope. This planet is often the most important one in the horoscope. In other words, if you just interpret the position of this one planet by sign, house, and aspect, you will get to the “heart of the horoscope”. The effect is the same as if that planet were the only one on one side of the chart.”

(There is a book out by Shirley Lyons Meier, "Elemental Voids, More than Meets the Eye", which gives a good discussion of missing elements.) The Inferior Function can be a source of great motivation and creative expression.

Career options are assessed by MC any planets conjunct, where the ruler of MC is placed, it’s aspects, then 2nd house ‘how you earn your money’ and planets there, ruler of cusp and where it’s placed, then 6th house of ‘type of work you do’ any planets there and how they are aspected.

Researching rulers of houses will help you understand more where I joining the dots so to speak

http://www.trans4mind.com/personal_development/astrology/LearningAstrology/housesDerived.htm
http://www.skyviewzone.com/astrology/houserulerships.htm

So libra/venus rules 2nd house and uranus is posited there and also rules yoiur 6th house and has a nice 'trine' 120' aspect to venus. This suggests you could make money doing something libran/venusian/uranuian
beauty industries, (venus) uranus
2nd House - succeedent house
· Could have unsettled finances. Impulsive with money. You may have unusual talents and methods of earning money.
· Could make money through scientific (laboratories) and electronic (computers etc) related inventions.
· Great desire to be financially independent. May take sabbatical if financially secure
· Sudden and unforseen circumstances where finances and income are concerned, can cause mental trauma due to having to change their personal beliefs, values
· Ups and downs in money conditions. Not a fixed reliable income.
· Great desire for independence so do well in their own business.
· Not good for speculation if afflicted. Inventive where business ideas are concerned.

I use Equal House system (where each cusp is same as Ascendant) and am a modern astrologer. Lots of newcomers come into Astrology/forums and get a free chart from www.astro.com and the default ‘house system’ used is Placidus and think that’s just the norm and all there is……..BUT that is just the tip of the iceberg. You can change the default on astro.com in Extended Chart selection to Equal house and a few others if you wish to experiment…..

your mars is inn 12th Equal and conj 12th placidus and is said to have more effect in the next house along going anti clockwise inanyevent. This suggests that you were perhaps not allowed to act or have temper tantrums in early childhood, thereby learning not to 'take action' overtly. mars only has one aspect (not great) with square to jupiter singleton, which suggests confidence at working behinds the scenes or poss higher education, or 9th house Saggi

self employment is seen by 5th house and yours is Capp/Saturn and saturn is placed in 11th house of 'hopes and wishes' suggesting delays at least until first saturn return or even mid life. This saturn has a square to uranus suggesting you are torn between freedom and independence (uranus) and more structured ideas, large organisations (11th) Saturn...

you could always tray asking a horary question to see if you will make a success of a self employed business.

Re: Dancer in Need of Direction!

Hi Kolani.

I enjoy looking at fellow dancer's charts and trying to spot some common themes. What kind of dance do you do? I still teach tap classes regularly and on occasion some beginner/intermediate jazz. I did stage work during my 20's (I'm now 36 years young, and loving it! ) and the whole auditions and training process, etc. etc. Goodluck on continuing your passion. I can relate to that. For me, it's that saying, "I didn't choose dance. Dance chose me."

We have a few similar signatures with the Jup singleton and Mars conjuncting the 12th house cusp. We also have the 1st house ruler in the 10th. The 17th century astrologer Morin, more on him:

http://www.astro.com/astrology/in_morin_e.htm

says about the 1st in the 10th house. I got this from skyscrpt:

In delineating the first house, Morin gives an example - For example, if the ruler of the first is in the tenth, or the ruler of the tenth in the first, professional activities, honors and prestige are indicated for the native in both cases; with the difference, however, that in the first case the native is stimulated by his own will and ambition and works with industry to attain recognition or an important position, while in the second case he does not strive thus, but honor and preferment often come to him quite without expectation.

Just wanted to add that little bit. It's like a "being in the spotlight" signature bestowing honor. It's a possibility at least.

Effort never stops, but Feb to May 2012 is right time to put effort for this. Jupiter return next year will be quite helpful.

Good Luck.

Re: Dancer in Need of Direction!

Hello Dehundhun,

Thanks for taking a look. I'm curious to know more about your take on Jupiter Returns...because I've heard they're not all they're cracked up to be, depening on Jupiter's placement, etc.

I just realized my Taurus Jupiter (singleton in Earth?) is in mutual reception with my Cancer moon...any thougts on this?

Thanks!

K

Well I don't remember now, there are couple of factors happening in chart between Fab and May. You are thinking in a direction, that would get support with those factors. Role of Jupiter's return is to convert them in success.

Standalone, Jupiter's return rarely gives opportunity, brings over optimism and is waste of resources (money, time). But when other driving factors are there, at that point of time, it leads them to success.

Sent PM for further details

Good luck.

I don't see a mutual reception, jupiter in taurus, taurus is ruled by venus, your venus is in cancer it's natural home...plus the planets should be in apsect, if not it's greatly weakened...

mutual reception
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mutual_reception

transiting Jupiter is currently going through your 8th house of joint finances, which would make a great time for getting a bank loan, or mortgage...

Re: Dancer in Need of Direction!

i meant mutual reception by exaltation...but perhaps mutual receptions only work with natural rulership? i haven't heard that mutual receptions are considerably weakend if the planets are not in (major aspect), but i could see the logic in that...
