Thanks for posting this, T. I've never really looked into to Natalie Merchant or David Bowie before, but you're making me give them both closer examination. I wish I had your music collection. ;)

When I first heard this song I thought it sounded a little too Radiohead for my taste. It still does, kind of, but it manages to turn me around and make me like it about halfway through. I feel like I'll be incurably in love with this song in a few months, but it feels good right now.

(The Trees Were Mistaken - Andrew Bird)

And if I were burning a CD I would put this song right after it. The transition seems just right. Careful with the volume on this one, though. I absently had the YouTube volume on max and when it came over my headphones I gave myself a startle.

this week i've mostly been enjoying zubrowka along with music from

anthrax
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FW0HeE9ymYU

and biosphere
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k5VZKB1J2UM
the voice according to the geir (biosphere) is from a radio transmission
-this is either metal, or painted metal, cold surface
-this is either painted metal, or, perhaps, plastic
-multicoloured, there's... Bright. Looks like... maybe it is a toy
-the surface is smooth, but there are some sort of ledges
-the finger even gets stuck... maybe these are some sort of inlays... or these are letters... or simply projections
-looks like a toy
-metal of different colors or plastic, painted metal
-that's all
-stop

"The voice belongs to Karl Nikolajev, a Russian "biocommunicator"(telepathist)*, that is sitting in a room, trying to "see" which object is lying on a table two floors up.
The Radio Moscow-sequence I got from my own shortwaveradio"

and I found this rather crazy jazz tune the other night which I really like

..I love Sonia Dada and especially this:
SONIA DADA- "SCREAMING JOHN"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uPQFg2YzB-E&feature=fvst

Blue blue Mary
Blue blue Mary
and Screaming John

Screaming John had a broken heart

He was outside crying all alone
In the parking lot

'Cause his brother had left
Half alone and half together

He'd sit up late at night
And have to wonder had he lived or died

'Cause he was thinkin'
But he didn't know why

He'd go uder the screaming sky
Lookin' at the water reflecting the city lights
And he'd howl at the crescent moon

But he didn't know why

And he was all alone

He was all alone

Blue blue Mary
Blue blue Mary
and Screaming John

The last to leave when the war was through
Stabbing at imaginary enemies
Tryin' to run'em all through

And when the moon stabbed down
White light in streams
Johnny panic fell asleep and had to wrestle
With the dragons in his dreams

Like a knight from round table

He was Screaming John and he was all alone

And he was lookin' for home

All alone in the middle of the night
he went crazy by the candlelight

Before his final madness came
he had a vision of God on an elevated train
grieving for the anguish of his lonely lonely boy

And Mary's teardrops fell like rain
And the fields were ripe to bloom again

And the Sisters of Babylon dressed in red were singing for his soul

Come on Johnny let me sing it to you
Come on Johnny let me sing it to you

Blue blue Mary
Blue blue Mary
and Screaming John

Hey, you know how I said I was going to start looking into David Bowie after tsquare's post? I did, and much to my surprise I've become a fan. Honestly, Bowie was just a name to me before that post of his, and now I keep finding myself marathon listening to Bowie's tracks on YouTube and I have a CD on order, all at the cost of my parents love. Lol!

I want to thank tsquare again for post that Natalie Merchant cover, as well as "Rock'n'roll Suicide", which is beautiful. Thanks for making a fan of me, tsquare.:happy::happy:

Here's one of my new favorites:

(David Bowie - Oh, You Pretty Things)

I never knew this was a Bowie song. I'd heard the chorus before and thought it was cheesy, though. I still do, but now it's way more than a cheesy chorus and one of the catchiest songs I've ever heard. Awesome.
