Traditional astrologers refer to the inconjunct as a planet that is 5 [or also 1] signs away from the other body or point of interest. The inconjunct is also referred to as disjunct, meaning lacking aspect. This is taken to mean that the two points do not regard or see each other.

This may be clearer when looking at the example of two points that are one sign apart so in side-by-side signs: they are both facing outward, so to speak, and cannot see each other eye to eye.

Five signs apart, what you are referring to here as the inconjunct, is also seen as disjunct. Disjunct/inconjunct relational positions between two bodies which are excluded from the traditional Ptolemaic aspects of the conj, sextile, square, trine and opposition.

Now, with all that talking aside :smile:, Venus inconjunct Asc would very generally suggest that the native's innate relational impulses [Venus] do not shine through how the native appears or presents [Asc] herself. More would be said about Venus based on its sign, house and other aspects.
