Hi Toula,

Are you still in Greece? One of my childhood best friends recently moved back. She is about 200 kilometers from Athens, and she struggled to find work. The quickest answer is: nothing is wrong with you. You are currently in Greece.

However, more personally, you are currently experiencing your Saturn return, in which transiting Saturn returns to the same sign and degree as it was when you were born. Saturn is at about 3 degrees Sagittarius, and is making an exact conjunction to Mars right now, and will make an exact conjunction to Saturn soon. Both of these planets are in your 6th house, the house of jobs (not career or vocation). This is the house that shows where you do labor and how you do it.

What does all of this mean, in plain language? From looking at your chart, I see you as a person who is less interested in making money and dealing with the material world and more with the ideas of thought and philosophy. Travel may be of great interest to you, though I don't see you as someone willing or compelled to permanently relocate in order to find work. You may be interested in working in travel, but not necessarily in hospitality. How good is your English? Would you consider working on a cruise boat? Cruise lines hire people from all over the globe, and while the work can be hard, there is long vacations in between cruises, and you get to be on the water, and you get to travel. People may naturally find you hospitable, even if they wonder if you are reliable. You will have to prove them wrong, and this will require patience on your part.
However, finding a job you feel suited for and one you can stay in for the long haul is going to be difficult for you. This is largely because you may depend on others close to you to help you with work, and in a down economy, this may not be possible.

One solution I will give you is to make your own job. Do you have a business-minded friend you can help out, possibly partner with? Is there some sort of service you can offer on the Internet? To work and to be of service is something you take seriously, though you may be prone to losing your momentum once you are in a job that you feel is too stifling or gives you no room to move about. A desk job on someone else's schedule wouldn't work for you in the long run, as you need freedom to make decisions, come up with new ideas, and generate enthusiasm. You may be very good at helping to promote something. In a small business, everyone who works in the business helps to promote it. However, your tendency may be to find someone who wants to reign in your enthusiasm. As you get older, you will be more able to find someone who is less interested in the mere labor you provide and more interested in your brilliant ideas to increase business. However, be careful about who you partner or work closely with, as you may think they are the best person ever at first, but become disappointed later when you find out that this isn't the case.

Since you are unemployed, take this time to look around and see if there is something you become enthused about, that you think you could sell and promote to people. Right now, it may simply be your labor. There are places online that you could take freelance jobs (which may be good for you in the short-term, and help you build a solid reputation as a hard worker) doing translations, promotions, etc. There is little investment other than time required in order to go out and get the jobs.

Take heart, and take care of yourself and your health. Right now, you may feel very stuck and hopeless. Take this time to examine your sense of purpose, and what you want to offer the world to make it a better place. A normal job in someone else's company, doing whatever they tell you to do, is probably not for you, and I think that employers may sense that about you. The good news is that the world is changing, slowly, toward self-employment, which I think would be a better option for you. You can work hard and intensely for something that you really feel is a good idea and really changes the world for the better. This is more important to having a good career than being able to merely follow someone else's orders.

PM me if you would like to discuss further.

I agree with everything written by candiedoranges. It was very comprehensive and thorough. I'd like to reinforce the following, because it is clear on your chart:

  • routine work would bore you to tears, and make you very restless and rebellious, so something like office work is out of the question.
  • if not travel, then foreign places and cultures and people can be part of what interests you, and which you can reach using the internet. Contacting people `at a distance' is indicated, as in working using the internet or something like Skype.
  • You are capable of working very hard and for long periods of time, but you need to know that the work you do has a purpose, and is meaningful to you/
  • You are very, very sensitive, and are able to `detect' pain or suffering in others. This is a gift with which you have been born. Thus, you need to work with people, but be aware that you will automatically `know' how others are feeling. If you have any interest in healing work - such as massage, or other complimentary healing techniques - you would also be well suited to this.

thanks Raven for your comments. Well, i've studied law and i'm specialised in shipping law, so except from the healing part all the rest are the reasons why i've chosen this area. Nonetheless, i seem to be unlucky for the time being and i have been questionning my choices and my skills lately. As i have stelium in the 9th house, could that mean that i should move to a foreign country to find a job?

If you're in Greece looking for work, then that is not the best place to find it in the current economic climate. If you are able to move to another country that might work best or you. I would imagine that shipping law is quite a niche area. Perhaps if you search online for jobs in other countries.

This has nothing to do with the stars and astrology in my opinion
this is something general that happens in greece and especially in athens
this has to do with economic crisis and Greece's huge unemployment rates
along with you there also at least 2 million people unemployed?
(i guess) or maybe more than that
you were born in 1986 as i see, youth has the highest unemployment rates
especially in Athens...

Something that i did myself...
i left greece 3 years back for western EU
and believe me i found anything else except fortune here

i was lucky at the beggining though that i found a job and i was working for 2,5 years
but in june 2014 BOOM i lost my job....
the company where i was working for,got closed
im searching for a job like crazy but its tough to find
anyway
after all these 3 years i realised that western EU has huge unemployment issues too
for example france-belgium=huge problems
not like greece though, but for sure whole Europe faces a huge economic crisis except germany and 5 other european countries.

btw the new greek goverment seems hopefull and trustfull
it may be some signifigant progress in 5 years ,who knows ... time will tell.

Otherdude, i know the 'rational' explanation of my situation, but as i love astrology i was wondering whether there is sth else written in the stars :joyful:
There are always openings for young professionals here although you need networking. Well, if I had to move now, I would go east...anyway i hope you can find sth here

Hello Toula:

Welcome to the jungle ! LOL

With all of that 9th house natal activity going on in your birth chart, I think that you need to get the h*ll out of Greece, your country of birth.

I am a relocation specialist who has helped people find the right place to live for many years.

Neptune = the descendant is among the creepiest places to be on Earth. Neptune here attracts, lazy, good for nothing people who will ***** you, all day.

Beware of Neptune on the angle wherever it is on Earth, people there are backstabbing liars.

You should try to move to a place where all of those malevolent planets, Mars, Saturn, and Uranus, are OUT of your 6th house of employment and somewhere else.

Since Saturn's tour of duty in Scorpio, your life has suffered, isn't it true !

Unfortunately, with Saturn returning to Scorpio, soon, and squaring your Aquarius planets, you are likely not out of the woods, yet, but you can plan your life now and perhaps make your move, most likely when Saturn returns to its natal position within two years.

I agree that self-employment is a good option, but not in Greece, with Neptune on the angle.

Neptune on the angle is favorable for certain work of a charitible or altruistic nature, such as volunteer work, not for profit work, or idealistic causes, such as environment, save the animals, etc.

I would move to a place where those 9th house planets are relocated to the 10th house of self employment and career.

There are other things to ponder, as well, look at the whole relocated chart.

You have options.

good luck to you,

HM

With Saturn transiting over your natal Mars, and Mars is the ruler of your 6th house of work, you can find employment doing work of a repetitive, dull nature, such as hard physical labor, working with older people or the elderly, working with East Indian people, etc.

Saturn rules old, established businesses that have been around for a very long time, large corporations.

As the full Moon in Aquarius - Leo conjoins your natal Sun in the 8th house, you could make money at this time, as well.

Be very careful re: heavy lifting and be safety conscious all the time, as Saturn/Mars is accident prone and subject to lower back issues ?

good luck, again,

HM

my natal sun is in the 9th house,no? cannot understand what you mean by saying neptune on the angle. You refer to the position of the neptune in my natal chart?

Yeah true i am completely off topic lol
my bad
sorry for that

btw if you re thinking about moving into another country
you need to make a relocation chart with the country-city you re about to move
and if you know someone who has experience with relocation astrology show it to him
so you can have an idea,but...in my opinion you need to get the risk and make this new change
because astrology is not always accurate and cannot predict your future 100%

people who take actions and risks are the ones who reach the success

by the way personally i dont pay some much of attention in astrology i see astrology as fun and interesting
but i try to be a realist and pay attention in to the "real" world my real everyday life and not in what's happening in the sky

you have a stellium in the 9th house,9th house is a saggitarian house
and indicates long trips, expatriates, the whole world
education,philosophy,foreigners-foreign languages etc..

i am an expatriate myself and i have moon-pluto in scorpio in 9th house conjucting each other and the midheaven
and i moved into another country late of 2011,for sure i wasnt expect that someday i will leave my country
because my natal chart shows that im a lucky mofo and my natal chart tells me that i have to stay in my "homeland" (Jupiter in 4th)

but the unexpected happend,so it may happen to you also

and im pretty sure it will because u have your sun in the 9th house

Hello Miss Toula:

I see that English is not your strong language.

Since this is a "pro bono" (volunteer) forum, can you please understand that I can only offer very limited instructions to you. I also run a full time business and I'm very busy.

So, yes, to your natal Sun being in the 9th house (and not 8th house).

Regarding Neptune conjunct your natal descendant, the natal chart is also a relocated chart of sorts.

The natal chart can therefore, be interpreted like a relocation.

I am of the opinion that ALL charts are good charts, and that all relocations are good.

Neptune conjunct the descendant is good for something. Unfortunately, you are caught in "the trap of despair" that Neptune angular frequently brings.

This is why Neptune is not always so good ?

On one hand, you are perceived by others as a "nice woman."

On the other, you have likely fallen into the trap of Neptune, which includes confusion, despair, victimization, self-deception, etc.

I think relocation astrology and ALL astrology works best under the assumption that PEOPLE MUST take ownership for their own life and plight ?

To say that the country of Greece is the problem is ridiculous.

Neptune brings benefits, too, such as spiritual growth, artistic expression, benevolence, charity, etc.

If you work with charitable groups or non profit groups

Question for you are you looking for work, right now ?

If not, how can astrology even help you. Miss Toula ?

This is part of your Neptune dilemma, I am sure !

later,

HM

thanks everyone for your time. It is great reading your posts while obviously searching like a crazy for a job; there is so much to learn about astrology, i had no clue about relocation charts etc. Well I am not an English native speaker, but then again i cannot say that i can fully understand in Greek all the astrological terms.

Otherdude, I see astrology as fun and interesting as well, and I try to figure out as much as I can

I think one thing that needs to be mentioned here is that Greece still has a very patriarchal society, and male privilege exists, so an additional factor is that as a female professional in what is still very much a male-dominated profession in nearly in every Western country, in which networking is vital to success, the move uphill is going to be harder. No astrological maneuver is going to wish that away overnight, and
no tough love dismissals will suddenly make that easier. If a person doesn't want to relocate - and a 9th house emphasis doesn't always portend that - they may, in their vulnerability, seek out help. That is when we, the professional astrologers, should be mindful of this and treat any client, pro bono or not, accordingly. This goes for any profession.

In fact, on top of running two businesses of my own, I will be attending law school in the fall. I'm lucky, in that I live in a major city in America, and that my partner, his brothers, and many of our friends are established and successful lawyers. However, when I get out of law school, I know that as a young female, I will still be walking into an old boy network.

And just a little non-astrological information: Not all careers or professions are equal, and let us be mindful of the particulars as we advise. It is VERY difficult for a lawyer to pick up and start practice in another country, and in some cases, nearly impossible. For example, foreign-trained lawyers cannot practice in the U.S. or Canada without a J.D., and they cannot get a J.D. without taking the LSAT, which requires a high level of English comprehension. Then, they have to go to law school, and then, they have to pass the bar exam. They could get an LLM without taking the LSAT, but they can never be licensed to practice law without the J.D. Most places do not want to hire any lawyer who is not licensed to practice law, regardless of experience. While they can say, work for their own embassy (and those jobs are highly competitive and to get one, requires some degree of experience and being in the right network), they cannot draw up contracts, advise clients, or represent them in court in foreign countries without the proper credentials for that country. They can say, represent their own countrymen when dealing with their own country, but that work may not be sustainable. For a lawyer to permanently relocate, there is a very real possibility of giving up one's profession all together.
