what is my calling? occupational luck?

Hi everyone!
I hope I can find some guidance on my calling in life. I currently work in marketing but feel like I should follow a calling. I also have a strong desire for financial security for me and my family. I'm creative and like to write, make soap, cook, read, and watch movies. When I was younger, I wanted to do a variety of things, like be a clothing designer, actor, writer for books and film, be my own boss/own a business, doctor. I hesitate to mention these things because I don't want to influence any potential answers but think it's good to provide some context. I'm open to anything.
In the past I've tried to do various things for a job/calling and for financial security but have either failed or not been successful/just average. I'm scared of trying something and putting forth great effort and failing since that has happened in the past.
Does my chart say I don't have a special calling? Ultimately, I know we have free will, I just need some guidance on what my strengths are, where my occupational luck is, what my calling is. I'm hoping this is found in my chart. I am 40 years old.

My MC is either Aries (10th house) or Pisces (9th house) depending on the system. With regards to Aries, I've always wanted to be my own boss, but I have never wanted to lead people, dominate others or dominate an industry.
i have 3 planets in Leo in 2nd house. I have no idea what this means other than it has to do with money?
Part of Fortune is in 11th house, Taurus.

I welcome any insights and greatly appreciate your help with clarifying my goals and life purpose!
Much peace and love to you. Thank you.

The chart I just posted is in the equal house system. Red planets are in transit. Green planets are progressions.

If you can post a chart with the aspects grid and with the transits and progression on the outside. I would use Placidus or Equal house.
The MC should not change. However I see predominantly fire element and there can be coaching especially children, sports and recreation. However with the fuller chart I can take a closer look.

You can anonymise the personal details.

Thanks so much Claire! Hope you are having a good day.
I just added a new chart. Red planets are in transit. Green planets are progressions. And it's in the equal house system. I didn't know how to make a chart with "aspects grid". I used astro.com. I hope this is sufficient?

I can see acting and the theatre but that is a precarious profession and okay you may make some money with it perhaps. With that Leo influence you would be creative and with Jupiter in Sagittarius in the 6th. I can see publishing and promotions or marketing as you say. have you thought about the travel industry, vacations, resorts, casinos and the like? As you have nothing in the 10th of vocation or career really I would say that is not a strong focus. More an everyday occupation like most of us. Have you thought about childrens books, writing or illustration? You have the focus of Leo planets in the 2nd house of personal income and the talents to earn money with a couple of good trines to the 6th Jupiter Sagittarius. I dont know if you dabble in the stock market but that can be a source of income.

Hi Claire
Thanks so much for your time and insights. I really appreciate it! The stock market and acting both scare me but I do find them fascinating. Both would stretch my abilities bc I can be shy and I'm not great with numbers. Writing children's books sounds interesting, very much so.
I want to meditate on your feedback and see how I feel about these things. Thank you so much! You helped me.
Wishing you the best.

A strong 2nd house would point to a high need for security indeed. It is also important to work on your values and feelings of self-worth. Money is often an outer expression of the latter. Taking the time to carefully consider what you value in life, maybe even engage in spiritual practices to clarify your answers will be highly beneficial. Once you arrive at a firm set of values, do not diverge from them. You can always reconsider and further modify them but always trying to get them in alliance with your higher self and god (depending on your beliefs). Once your values are sufficiently pure for your level of spiritual evolution you will feel a strong impulse to stand by them and direct your life in accordance to them. Money will come secondary. Always focus on your values primarily, check if any course of action is in accordance with them, constantly try to purify them and money will be the least of your problems in life.

Hi zona967,
What you say is so interesting. Especially b/c in the past I have focused on making money and thinking about what job or calling would make the most money possible (without doing anything unethical). I thought this way, not out of greed or to spend extravagantly, but out of an immense, strong need and desire to have some financial security, to have a lot of money put away and saved. What I found was that I either failed at these endeavors or just ended up with average results.
Lately I have been thinking of following my true calling and remaining true to it. I believe this to be part of following a set of values I strongly believe in. I am human but I do have strong values that I try to stay true to.
I thought that if I just followed a true calling that the money would come in. Of course, I know I would have to work hard at this "calling" but I thought that if I follow a true calling diligently that the need for financial security would be satisfied and that is why I posted here to ask about discovering a "true calling".
Thanks so much for the food for thought. It is really appreciated.

That would mean you believe in a 'true calling.' I myself am not sure I subscribe to that idea. Then a true calling may not be possible to express vocation-wise. My true calling (if we assume I have one) might be to be a ghost buster. That doesn't mean it will become a profession let alone a career. It might be just a hobby. I will live for my hobby and have a mediocre job. I will not experience myself through my vocation (no one said I should).

With a strong 2nd house the focus is on security. Your MC ruler is also in the 2nd house. So the question would be what gives you a sense of security and self-worth. Money is just an option. 2nd house cusp Leo would point to creativity, having fun, expressing love, giving, being theatrical, being seen, being threated as someone important and royal, being involved with children, gambling, fun-fairs, being on a stage, cooking, giving and receiving presents, being the boss, the one things revolve around, engaging in physical activity, dancing, feeling lucky, being expressive, art, being positive, not dwelling excessively in the negative and in general focusing on developing love within yourself which you then spread around rather than waiting for external signs of approval you then interiorise. Once again self-worth is what gives a sense of security not money.

I'm a big fan of house rulerships, because they are so illuminating regarding a person's strengths (particularly if certain strengths repeat over and over again). What your natal chart says about your house rulerships & planetary placements:

Helping Career (3 indicators): 6th House / House of Health cusp ruler (Sagittarius=Jupiter) is also in the 6th House, which is also the house of public service and rules the work environment. Your career may involve helping others in society.

11th House / House of Friendships cusp ruler (Taurus=Venus) is in the 12th House / House of Self-Undoing, which rules large public institutions and compassion for the needy. The 11th House also rules humanitarianism and social causes, so you may be interested in helping others in society.

Your Jupiter (expansion) is situated in the 6th House / House of Health, which is the house of public service.Your Part of Fortune is located in the 11th House / House of Friendships, which includes humanitarianism and social causes. Thus, your best luck may come from working on issues benefiting society in some manner.

Communications-Related Career (3 indicators)
: 1st House / House of Self cusp ruler (Cancer=Moon) is in the 3rd House / House of Communications. Thus, communicating your ideas is central to your self-identity.

3rd House / House of Communications cusp ruler (Virgo=Mercury) is in the 2nd House / House of Value. You're likely to use your communications skills (speaking, writing, &/or teaching) to earn a living.

5th House / House of Pleasure cusp ruler (Scorpio=Pluto) is in the 3rd House / House of Communications. The 5th House also rules creativity and children, so you're likely to use your creative talents to advance your ideas.

Teaching Career (3 indicators): 3rd House / House of Communications cusp ruler (Virgo=Mercury) is in the 2nd House / House of Value. You're likely to use your communications skills (speaking, writing, &/or teaching) to earn a living.

5th House / House of Pleasure cusp ruler (Scorpio=Pluto) is in the 3rd House / House of Communications. The 5th House also rules creativity and children, so you could be a successful teacher because children are receptive to learning from you.

9th House / House of Philosophy cusp (Pisces=Neptune) is in the 5th House / House of Pleasure, which includes creativity and children. You may pass on your knowledge to children.

Creative Career (3 indicators):
9th House / House of Philosophy cusp (Pisces=Neptune) is in the 5th House / House of Pleasure, which includes creativity and children. Your life philosophy may boost your creative talents.

5th House / House of Pleasure cusp ruler (Scorpio=Pluto) is in the 3rd House / House of Communications. The 5th House also rules creativity and children, so you're likely to use your creative talents to advance your ideas.

Your Neptune (creativity) -- which rules your Midheaven in Pisces -- is located in the 5th House / House of Pleasure, which includes creativity.

Financial / Business Career: Both your Sun (ego) and Mercury (thoughts & communications) lie in the 2nd House / House of Value, and look very well-aspected. This is a good placement for a financial analyst, economist, accountant, entrepreneur, or some other business-related career.

Health-Related Career:
6th House / House of Health cusp ruler (Sagittarius=Jupiter) is also in the 6th House, which also rules the work environment. Your career may be in the health arena in some way.

Singing Career
: 3rd House / House of Communications cusp ruler (Virgo=Mercury) is in the 2nd House / House of Value. You may have a good singing voice, which you can use to earn a living.

Because this particular chart doesn't show which planets, etc. aspect your Midheaven (career cusp/point), I can't use astrologer Noel Tyl's vocational profiling approach to further nail down what your natal chart says is your professional life calling.

Zona,
You've given me something to think about for sure. Those are deep questions (what gives me self worth and what makes me secure).

Outside of having money saved away, my relationships with family, friends and the universe make me feel secure. I had some trouble with the next thing - what gives me self worth. The things you mentioned definitely bring me joy but I didn't know if they gave me a sense of "self worth", so I thought about that some more.

The things that give me self worth or self respect are: when I do a good job (whether at work or with a hobby), when I am fair towards myself and others, when I have created something (thru work or hobby), when i have loved fully, when I have approached others and situations with the best of intentions.

I felt centered after thinking about these things. Thank you!

Then whatever you do try to always keep those in mind. You can always rework them of course. When you begin to sidetrack and consciously or unconsciously violate your own values is when the problems with self-esteem and consequently money can come from (problems on the physical plane being exteriorisations of problems on a higher plane). I began to incur financial losses in my profression when I began to make compromises with my values and ethics. It didn't strike right away but it was there. It begins to eat on your self esteem at the very least and it's all down the drain from there.

Wishing you the best of luck,
Zona

Zuri,
Thanks so much for going through all of the houses! It was illuminating and I appreciate it.

Based on this, my strengths are communicating, creativity, and helping others, correct? I do agree with this overall. Does my chart say anything about what medium would be used to communicate, channel my creativity and help others? Is it writing, film, teaching classes, owning/running a business/entrepreneurship, music, something else? I know that nothing can be said definitively, but I was just wondering if my chart showed a preference for a certain medium or not.

I've attached my chart, which contains aspects to MC in pisces. If you have time, can you please look at it and profile it further for a vocation? I noticed that black moon lilith aspects the MC. What does that signify? Also I think I see a grand trine between part of fortune, north node and pluto/moon? Does that have anything to do with my calling? Or maybe it's not a true grand trine b/c all three points are not planets?

If you don't have time to do this, I totally understand and it is not a problem at all!

Thanks again and wishing you a peaceful, lovely day

Using astrologer Noel Tyl's vocational profiling approach, which analyzes aspects to the Midheaven (career point):

Your Midheaven is in Pisces (creativity, compassion), through the ruling planet Neptune. Your Neptune is positioned in Sagittarius (philosophical, freedom-oriented) in the 5th House / House of Pleasure, which includes creativity and children. Thus, creativity is central to your career path.

Your Saturn (ambition, delay) in Gemini squares your Midheaven, which brings career blockages. In your natal chart, Saturn rules your 7th House / House of Partnerships (via Capricorn), which brings social relationships into the career mix.

Your Jupiter (expansion) in Sagittarius squares your Midheaven, which suggests an unstable career that you'll have to work hard to overcome. Jupiter rules your 6th House / House of Health (via Sagittarius), which brings the health arena and/or public service into the career mix.

Your Chiron (wounded healer) in Aries is semi-sextile your Midheaven. You may be drawn to teaching or healing professions, in order to deal with childhood wounds. This placement thus brings teaching and healing into the career mix.

Your Lilith (hidden emotional self) in Scorpio trines your Midheaven, which means that you value independence in your career and may need to connect more with that in order to advance. You prefer to be your own boss, than work for someone else.

Vocational profile: Your chart suggests that your main profession in life will: involve your creative talents, involves social relationships in your daily work, have you teach or heal others, be a situation where you are self-employed, and be channeled through the health arena and/or public-service arena.

This encompasses a range of occupations: Art therapist? Health care consultant? Freelance educational grantwriter? You open up a creative arts center that educates people about a range of arts-related topics? Midwife?

Thanks so very much for explaining it step by step and for spelling it out for me! I've learned so much from you and others who have stepped in to comment and advise. I feel so grateful and humbled. Thank you.

Glad to be of some help. Perhaps something has struck a chord in you and you may give it consideration. You can get involved with childrens theatre, the production of videos etc for childrens stories and music and
learning cds for instance. All this you can do at home and just need to market it well.

all the best.
