1. Creation of the luminaries and the stars on the fourth day - Genesis 1:14-19

Then God said, “Let there be luminaries in the firmament of the heavens to separate the day from the night, and let them be for signs and for seasons and for days and years; and let them be for luminaries in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth”; and it was so. God made the two great luminaries, the greater luminary to govern the day, and the lesser luminary to govern the night; He made the stars also. God placed them in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth, and to govern the day and the night, and to separate the light from the darkness; and God saw that it was good. There was evening and there was morning, a fourth day.

1. Some astrologers are incorrect in grouping the luminaries with the planets (wandering stars) or the planets in a separate category from the so-called non-wandering or fixed stars. It is well known since the time of Ptolemy, that there is no such thing as a fixed star.

2. Astrologers are right in their estimation of the sect of the luminaries, but not of the stars, which are all said to be nocturnal.

3. Ancient philosophers and astrologers were quite off the mark in claiming that the heavens, the luminaries and stars are eternal, when they are in fact created less than 6000 years ago.

4. Many astrologers are mistaken in claiming that the day begins when the sun reaches the degree of the ascendant and ends when it reaches the degree of the descendant. For the stars were made to separate the light of the day from the darkness of the night. Those are correct who divide the 12 hours according to the locality and season. But the days are not to be fixed on the international date line which has no astronomical or biblical significance.

5. Many astrologers are correct in saying that the sun is greater than the moon and stars, those are mistaken who say that the moon is greater, or that the two luminaries are equal in glory. Astrologers are correct in saying that the glory of each star differs from the others.

6. Many modern astrologers are mistaken in believing that the earth orbits around the sun every year and rotates around the universe daily, when it is the sun orbiting the earth every year and the universe rotating around it daily. If that was not so, the effects of the stars would be imperceptible and unpredictable, and it would not be possible to accurately prognosticate events such as hurricanes and natural disasters through astrology.

7. The Bible does say that the luminaries can naturally influence harvests. It seems quite possible that they could influence other mundane phenomena, besides the obvious general influences of the seasons and the winds.

Note 1 - the scriptures mention three heavens - 2 Corinthians 12:2
Note 2 - there are waters above the firmament as below it - Genesis 1:7
Note 3 - the waters are above heavens and are not clouds - Psalm 148:4
Note 4 - creatures ascending the third heaven are baptised before entering
Note 5 - only the second heaven containing the luminaries and stars rotates

It is quite obvious that Paul wasn't caught up to the heaven of the morning star, so the Bible doesn't support the popular theory of antiquity of the luminaries and stars moving through celestial spheres, which is now obsolete. For the first heaven obviously denotes our atmosphere where birds fly - Genesis 6:7.

Hi Petosiris,

What do you think the purpose of this quote is for?

“Then God said, “Let there be luminaries in the firmament of the heavens to separate the day from the night, and let them be for signs and for seasons and for days and years; and let them be for luminaries in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth”; and it was so. Note 10 - the glory of one star is different from the glory of another - 1 Corinthians 15:41

This too, the “glory” of each star is designed singular to each, with its own strengths, weaknesses and myths of similarities in different regions, and times of earth.

365 stars/entities gave a part of themselves to create said “Adam” they gave a piece of their glory, and of their thorns. The balance of their light.

Note 9 - the glory of the sun is greater than the glory of the moon

Hmmm, the sun, while strong, obliterates or combusts what comes to close.

While the moon, goes through it phases, of light and darkness, and shares its time with the other lesser luminaries (stars).

Is it greater to work alone? Or with others?

Yes, there is the factual part of the begetting, but, that is of man, in a time in which it was beginning again, after, the last age of Taurus. Around or about 6,000 years ago.

Hi Opal,

I have given 10 notes, but let me expand on note 6 in the Hebrew Scriptures. Signs can mean omens (though divination is forbidden - Deuteronomy 18:10-15), but it can also refer to miracles involving the luminaries, such as they standing still for a day - Joshua 10:12-13, the sign of the sun retracing 10 steps given to king Hezekiah - 2 Kings 20:10-11, Isaiah 38:7-8, the sun darkening at the crucifixion of Jesus - Luke 23:45, and the darkening of the luminaries and stars before the great and awesome day of YHVH - Joel 3:15, Isaiah 13:10, Matthew 24:29 etc. But we are told not to learn the way of the nations, nor to be dismayed at the signs of the heavens because the nations are dismayed at them - Jeremiah 10:2.

It can also refer to a pledge, as for example in relation to the appointed times (misleadingly translated as ''seasons''), so that the luminaries and stars were created for the purpose of marking the feasts of YHVH, which is extraordinary. Most feasts of the nations are established to honour the turnings of the luminaries, but we see that God created the luminaries and stars through his Word to indicate the appointed times, the biblical feasts of the Lord. For you know that the Lamb was slain before the foundation of the world - Revelation 13:8, whereas the luminaries and stars were created through him who is the firstborn Angel and the Artisan (Demiurge) of the Creator, prophesied by Moses to become a man and die for the sins of the world on the passover between the evenings and to be raised on the third day as the firstfruit of those having fallen asleep. And the days and years are related to these and to the seventh year of release and the jubilee.

Note 10 - the glory of one star is different from the glory of another - 1 Corinthians 15:41

This too, the “glory” of each star is designed singular to each, with its own strengths, weaknesses and myths of similarities in different regions, and times of earth.

The text doesn't say that, but it seems to refer to their light. Moreover the apportioning of Deuteronomy 4:19 doesn't refer to idolatry (which God hates), but to the harvests of seasons and to the appointed times which are for all nations - ''And if any of the families of the earth do not go up to Jerusalem to worship the King, YHVH Tzavaot, there will be no rain on them.'' - Zech. 14:17 and ''From new moon to new moon, and from Sabbath to Sabbath, all flesh shall come to worship before me, declares YHVH'' - Is. 66:23

365 stars/entities gave a part of themselves to create said “Adam” they gave a piece of their glory, and of their thorns. The balance of their light.

This is not from the word of God, but from the word of men who rejected the Law and the Prophets, and blasphemed the God of Israel through gibberish and sorcery.

The sun doesn't obliterate anything, it just hides the stars with its brightness, in fact the moon does it too (to a lesser degree), especially when it is full, you can't see the more faint stars as you could do during a new moon.

Yes, there is the factual part of the begetting, but, that is of man, in a time in which it was beginning again, after, the last age of Taurus. Around or about 6,000 years ago.

🙂

Jesus Christ is the beginning of God's creation - Rev. 3:14, Prov. 8:23, John 1:1, Col. 1:15, whereas Adam and Eve were created through him in his image on the sixth day - Gen. 1:26, not in the image of demons, but in the image of the only-begotten God.

The New Testament testifies that Jesus Christ died at the ninth hour of the Passover in the fulfillment of the scriptures. For the portion from the ninth hour until sunset is the correct understanding of the phrase ''between the two evenings/settings'' - Exodus 12:6. For as the night is divided into three watches (Judges 7:19), so the day has a middle portion which is neither morning nor evening, but is called lights or middle of the day - Jeremiah 20:16, Numbers 28:8 and 1 Kings 18:27, Nehemiah 8:3. This is natural in most languages.

Josephus and Philo both testify against the seventh hour or the twilight understanding of the phrase:

''So these High Priests, upon the coming of that feast which is called the Passover, when they slay their sacrifices, from the ninth hour until the eleventh, but so that a company not less than ten belong to every sacrifice, (for it is not lawful for them to feast singly by themselves), and many of us are twenty in a company, found the number of sacrifices was two hundred and fifty-six thousand five hundred; which, upon the allowance of no more than ten that feast together, amounts to two millions seven hundred thousand and two hundred persons that were pure and holy; for as to those that have the leprosy, or the gonorrhea, or women that have their monthly courses, or such as are otherwise polluted, it is not lawful for them to be partakers of this sacrifice; nor indeed for any foreigners neither, who come hither to worship.'' - Josephus, Jewish Wars 6.9.3, Whiston translation

(Would there have been enough time during twilight for so many sacrifices upon the altar?)

''Why is the Passover sacrificed ''toward evening''? Perhaps because good things were about to befall at night. It was not the custom to offer a sacrifice in darkness, and for those who were about to experience good things at night it was not proper to prepare it before the ninth hour. Therefore it was not at random but knowingly that the prophet set a time between the turning ''toward evening...'' - Philo, Supplement II, Marcus translation

And I have come to the conclusion that the first hour and last hour of the day is not to be reckoned from sunrise to sunset, but from the disappearance of all but one star (and sometimes it also happens that the morning star will shine after the morning watch during the mornings) and the approximate estimated appearance of two or more stars - Genesis 1:16-1:18.

And some Greek astrologers also took note of this hour, because of which they assigned death to the post-ascension of the Setting, called the 8th place or house.
