At the risk of being pedantic, I think we cannot move forward until we have a clear definition of yods and/or "focused quincunxes".......Because the
Lunar Living Astrology page linked for us by Aq7
concurs with Am's understanding that it is the faster rather than the slower planet which is at the apex of a Yod.
WHAT THEN IS A "TRUE" YOD?
This is clearly defined by the 1/6/8 relationship of the three planets A/B/C.....where planet B is in
lower qcx and planet C is in
higher qcx to planet A.........So, it's reasonable to conclude that a "true" Yod
must meet all of this criteria...........since anything else will not behave in
exactly the same way.
FASTEST OR SLOWEST PLANET AT THE APEX?
The above definition of a true yod
can never be met with the
fastest planet at the apex, because planet B is in higher qcx and planet C is in lower qcx to planet A............A kind of "retrograde" Yod!
The above definition
is always met with the
slowest moving planet at the apex.........and
will also be met when planet B is slower and planet C is faster than planet A.......For example, Mars as apex plaenet A/Jupiter as planet B and Sun as planet C.
So, in a "true" Yod, the Moon/fastest planet cannot be planet A or B and Pluto/slowest planet cannot be planet C..........But, as C1 points out, the Net is full of sites refuting this.....although, as AM says, none of them attempt to explain why..........So, I'm adopting my conclusions here (as they are at least based on logic/principles which I can relate to).
WHAT ARE THE VARIOUS "YOD CONFIGURATIONS" THEN?
1. The true Yod......CarrieLee's Neptune/Saturn/Moon
2. The retrograde Yod......Starlink's Moon/Mars/Uranus
3. The double lower quincunx......R4VEN's son
4. The double higher quincunx.....(say) Mars/Moon/Sun
5. Others..........Those consisting of both planets and points.
DOES IT MATTER THAT THERE ARE A VARIETY OF CONFIGURATIONS?
Well.........now we come down to the opinion of individual astrologers.....My view is that it must do.......But, all I'm trying to do with this post is to confirm that different configurations do exist (and attempt to explain why).
