We have been dancing around in circles for quite a while. He's sometimes warm, sometimes cold; sometimes I don't even know what to make of him.
Is there potential for a relationship with this guy?

Your significator is Mercury and your co-significator is Moon.
His significator is Jupiter.

Mercury does not aspect Jupiter before it changes sign.
Moon is applying to at trine to Jupiter.

So I say, yes, there is potential for a relationship with him.
