North Node Conjunct South Node (Father-Daughter-Relationship)

I have a North Node Conjunct South Node with my father. I always had a very strained relationship to him and now as an adult, I'm trying to understand the issues. Are the problems karmic?

My North Node is 15° Aquarius in the 2nd house.
His South Node is 18° Aquarius in the 2nd house.

Therefore...

My South Node is 15° Leo in the 8th house.
His North Node is 18° Leo in the 8th house.

So we not just have a conjunction within the signs about also within the houses. There are also personal planets involved on those nodes as Venus and Mars.

I think it would be the opposite of having a strained relationship as the result of the opposite nodes.

I would look elsewhere for the strain.
