I don't know, BUT I thought the reason this was done this way is to give the jury a chance. Sometimes, they come back with "not guilty" for a pre meditated 1st degree, but would go for manslaughter or murder in the 2nd.

Whichever they come back with, there is a time period of prison time that the judge will be obligated within that period.

So, if one holds out and says, "I can't see murder , he didn't intend this to occur"
Then the others have the opportunity to convince that person or the holdouts of the other charges they were given.

The judge will tell them about these at the end of the trial and explain what they MUST find to have such a finding in the end of their deliberations.

Glad its not me in that jury! Its a very emotionally driven case.

Morning testimony ended
with Minneapolis Police Department (MPD)
use of force training expert
Lt. Johnny Mercil on the stand.

Prosecutors showed Mercil

a photo of Chauvin with his knee on Libra Sun Floyd.
"...Is this an MPD trained neck restraint?..." he asked.
"...No, sir,..." Mercil responded.
But during cross examination
Mercil was pressed by Chauvin's attorney Eric Nelson
and admitted that while the technique Chauvin used
was not a trained neck restraint
he may have been following the training of using body weight
to gain control of a person.

Yes, that is correct. Derek Chauvin IS responsible for George Floyd's death...nobody is disputing that, it's all on tape. However, the trial is to determine if it was an accidental or deliberate death. The verdict that the jury ultimately makes will determine how much time he will spend in prison based on what they find him guilty of. Or they could find him not guilty on all the charges.

Derek Chauvin faces three charges in the death of George Floyd.

Chauvin is facing three charges: second degree unintentional felony murder, third degree “depraved mind” murder, and second degree manslaughter.

If you want to understand how a criminal trial like this unfolds, there is a criminal defense attorney who reviews the trial each day. It's very interesting. I've been listening since they began with the jury selection. He usually talks fr about one hour each day, using clips from the trial to explain what's going on.
Even though the prosecutor has about 14 lawyers & assistants, many well-known with millions of dollars for their experts, the defense lawyer has one assistant but doing a good job in defending Chauvin. Everyone needs a good, proficient lawyer to defend them no matter what the public thinks or how much you may hate the person.
We are not a country of vigilante justice but of laws.

Of course, the vast majority of people who watched the tape have made their minds up that Chauvin is a 'killer' without understanding that the knee restraint was used in police training. Was Chauvin aware that Floyd was
in danger? Why didn't the other police officers pull him away if they felt he was killing Floyd? They kept checking Floyd's pulse when he was saying that he couldn't breathe & it was okay. Appears the death was grossly negligent but not murder. I guess the other officers will be making plea deals depending on the verdict of Chauvin as they need to be held accountable for their actions too.

On the day Floyd died, Pluto/Jupiter/Saturn were making a Square to his natal Sun/Uranus Libra. Very hard hitting planets oppressing his physical body.
Neptune, ruling drugs making hard aspect to his natal Venus/Neptune. He was with his drug dealer when he was arrested & swallowed large amounts of fentanyl when the police put him in the police car as he didn't want to be charged with carrying drugs. That could have been a factor in his death.

There is no evidence that Chauvin is racist or that he killed Floyd intentionally.

With his Mars square the Aries point, he has created violence and turmoil. From a midpoint perspective, he has Aries on the Sun/Mars midpoint. Witte and Lefeldt described this midpoint as “To be active in public”. This is a horrible euphemism for the publicity of his actions and their consequences. Finally, if you are into Witte’s hypothetical planets, Chauvin also has the Aries Point, as well as the Sun and Mars, on the Uranus-Hades midpoint. We get the image of chaos, eruptions and death – the very events that followed George Floyd’s killing.

Thank you for making my point.

The neck restraint was common practice in the MN & OTHER police depts.

It was done hundreds of times with no deaths except maybe one I think.

They banned it on June 5th AFTER this death & the riots but it was perfectly legal for Chauvin to use this restraint. Floyd was a very tall, large man drigged up on fentanyl. In 2019, he took an overdose like this after getting arrested & was taken to emergency with severe breathing problems. So it could have been a factor in this arrest too.

Thank God for trials which require evidence & not hysterical accusations...although I don't think Chauvin can get a fair trial....Antifa already committing violence around the courthouse, it's protected like Fort Knox & no juror is going to feel safe acquitting him even if they come to the conclusion that he is not guilty. The violent mob wins again, just like they did in 2020.:alien::alien::alien:

Maybe if Dem Amy Klobuchar did her job properly years ago, this type of restraint would have been banned. SEN. AMY KLOBUCHAR, under renewed fire for her record as a Minnesota prosecutor, for not ensuring police accountability.

I guess she was too busy catering to her white voters and receiving money from the police union to be concerned with the police brutality.:andy::surprised::annoyed:

That particular astrologer is practicing German astrology founded by Witte.
Its original name was "Uranian Astrology" which uses midpoints.

Although I find it logical and reasonable to follow too, I do not, as an "old dog doesn't easily learn new tricks" They use "Transneptunian objects" as well which I don't but I find merit in doing so for those who do as this Astrologer did for Chauvin with Hades:

What are Transneptunians? /Wikipedia -

astrologically derived transneptunian factors have as of 2009 neither been proven nor disproven to be among what astronomers have generically labeled Transneptunians, or Kuiper Belt, Scattered Disk Objects, or Oort Cloud phenomena, as further research on this region remains to be done. Witte promoted the use of the transneptunian hypothetical planets, meaning none of the Witte transneptunian planets were astronomically verifiable at the time in which he discovered them nor have they been verified by astronomers at any time since he proposed their existence. Witte's transneptunian planets were, Cupido, Hades, Zeus and Kronos. In 1927, Sieggrün expanded the list of transneptunian hypothetical planets to include Apollon, Admetos, Vulkanus and Poseidon (1934), beyond what Witte himself perceived to exist.

http://www.bear-star.com/uranian-astrology/

The Hamburg School of Astrology originated in Hamburg, Germany, and revolved around the research and teachings of surveyor/astrologer/amateur astronomer Alfred Witte. The term Hamburg School as an astrological method originated in 1923 at the Second German Astrological Congress in Leipzig, Germany.

Chauvin was NEVER charged with the incident with the 14 yr old 'boy'...because the restraint was PERFECTLY LEGAL. :libra: Justice needs to be applied here on the thread where the legal knowledge is even worse than the so-called astrology!

Maybe if you were a cop & underwent training, you would understand the various methods of control/restraint instead of attacking a man for doing his job. Maybe you & :leo::moon: need to do a 'ride along' because cops don't deal with polite, easy-going people. They are often violent, resistant to arrest & will kill a cop if they had the chance.:alien:
They are dealing with the :pluto: criminals and :mars: anger, often turning to gun violence in a matter of seconds.

The mother of the 14-year-old boy said he and his sister had assaulted her. The officers found the teen on the floor on his phone in the rear of the house, and Chauvin ordered him to get up.

in his report on the incident, Chauvin wrote that the teenager “displayed active resistance to efforts to take him into custody,” and noted that, although just 14, the boy was “approximately 6’2″ and at least 240 pounds.”

He conceded that he “deliver (sic) a few strikes to (the teen) to impact his shoulders and hopefully allow control to be obtained.”

Defense lawyers have also argued that all of Chauvin’s earlier use-of-force incidents were deemed within department guidelines.

Hennepin County District Judge Peter Cahill has yet to rule on whether the 2017 video will be allowed at the trial.

According to your description (if correctly stated), that Chauvin was on the property of the mother whose son (the boy in question) caused a problem, if I were the mother I would consider suing Derek Chauvin for manhandling my son.

Regardless of the size of the 14 yr old, he was still 14 and didn't have the quantity of life years experience at that point in time.

No one touched my kids with my knowledge anyway and not be facing trouble. No-one! :rightful: or otherwise.

I don't think the mother appreciated him coming over and grabbing her son in this way physically. The Police Depts. need to have a complete overhaul in this country, and when the 911 call comes in, it should be determined then and there, that the social worker would accompany the police to the home if it's a family problem (which many are) ....Police do not know how to work with children and give them what they need. When you are used to 24/7 of mostly adults and crime the numbers of child perps you come into contact with are few in comparison. So they'd not have the proper training that a social worker would have.
