Will I ever walk again?

Walk, run, dance, hike, any meaningful movement - please please please!

Just wondering if anyone can provide any insight to this very serious matter...

Last March I was diagnosed with a malignant bone tumor on my right knee that required invasive surgery to remove it. I had numerous complications (including near-death 2x, requiring 4 more surgeries), spent three months in the hospital, and now have pretty bad nerve damage (lower leg paralysis -- supposed to be temporary but it's going on 10 months!), excessive scar tissue, and other problems that arose from the operation/complications. I require a walker, crutches, and/or wheelchair to move about, but am most housebound.

I want to know if I will be able to move freely, with ease, grace, joy, etc, in the future. No medical doctor or alternative doctor has been able to tell me anything certain, just to stay hopeful.

I'm only 25 and before that I LOVED to run (Mars in Aries in the 1st house!) and dance (Pisces rising? -- my astro knowledge is pretty basic). I NEED TO MOVE FREELY to feel alive! I feel so alienated from my body and life.

Thanks for looking.

Hi,
I'm so sorry to read of your plight and hope that a full recovery will soon be on the way for you.

Astrologically speaking I think your Moon and Mars in Aries want things to happen yesterday rather than next week and you are allowing the impatience to get at you. You underwent major surgery and are alive to tell the tale. Perhaps it coulod be wiser to count your blessings?

Tumourous growths are associated with a harsh Jupiter and planets with which it is aspected. Nerves are associated with Mercury of Gemini, whilst associations with paralysis can bring in Aquarius, in which your natal Mercury ans Sun is placed. The Gemini-Sagittarius axis is associated with agility through the limbs.

A large coincidence is that the planet Jupiter, also associated with beneficial recuperation, has been in a long sojourn in Gemini and has been in retrograde motion since October. Things just don't seem to be getting a beneficial move on....for anybody, according to the house it is going through. My son-in-law lost his job last April. Sag. (and Jupiter) rules his 6th house of employment. He's had one interview after the other (Gemini influence), yet nothing comes of them. He gets pipped at the last post...literally! It was making him depressed, believing things will never get better. You probably know of people who could tell a similar tale regarding aspects of their own lives. He has had to find something to keep his mind working in a positive fashion and has taken up a study to improve his knowledge in his field. It is bearing fruit when his marks are returned!

You have a Pisces Ascendant with Jupiter in the first house. If there was ever a position that asks for (and can provide?) a leap of faith it is Jupiter in Pisces. Unfortunately, the other side of Pisces is that it can be inclined to feel very self-pitiful and pessimistic of nature, in which Jupiter's
beneficial glass can look half-empty instead of half-full. Sometimes it takes more than Arian exercise in strengthening muscles to strengthen one's impatient will.
Transit Jupiter turned retrograde in aspect to your Saturn-Chiron-Ascendant in the 3rd house (agility and/of mind). Pessimism may have over-ruled optimism? The good news is that Jupiter's retrograde is almost at an end and moves direct in motion from February, in a positive aspect to your natal Moon-Mars (feelings and will), also taking in the aspect to Neptune. Hopefully you will feel that sensations gradually return to your mental as well as physical nerves, which can encourage further progress all round. Don't rush things with the leap of faith; allow your recuperation to be gradual and lasting.

The very best of Jupiter good luck to you (and, hopefully, son-in-law will also have a job:smile:.)

It is important to remember the connection between mind and body: the more stressors in your life, the more your body will have difficulty in healing. I agree that you must maintain hopefulness for the future for such things as this can often be beyond our personal control. Jupiter transiting your house of mobility is currently moving to a turning point for you. Will the problem persist: Natal Chiron can be suggestive of a severe wounding or crippling injury that requires a great deal of healing time. Saturn in Sagittarius can also suggest lameness or problems with mobility. Uranus joined with Saturn shows that outcomes to limitations can be unpredictable and changeable, so there is still the promise of surprising or unexpected outcomes. Saturn is currently moving towards a joining with natal Pluto, and this can sometimes create some rather amazing results: in the coming months you may notice some significant transformational energies in your life. Saturn can seem interminable, demanding patience, caution and conserving of energies; still I often think of it as creating 'strategic delays' necessary for our overall development. Note the Aries energy [championship and conquest] whereby the NN is sandwiched between your Moon and Mars, both in trine and sextile aspects and I see this as giving the potentiality for healing. Indeed you are yet young, and I do believe you will get other chances to return to a state of balance once more: my sense is that the lesson is about utilizing the proper control and direction of the mind to cure what ails you from within. Best of luck to you.

Wow, thank you both so much! So grateful this community exists.

Interesting about Saturn in Sag signifying potential mobility issues... oh man.

I'm definitely trying to nail down a solid routine for body work -- embracing and maintaining structure is mega challenging for me, as you can see from chart -- but I guess that's the tough Saturn lesson with this experience.

Looking forward to Jupiter going direct!

By direction (one degree per year of life), natal Mercury (nerves, mobility, etc) directs to conjunction with natal Jupiter (lord of your ascendant and of your 10th whole sign house) in your 26th year: a fortunate direction which might forshadow improvement in your situation. Best wishes!

thankyou

If the fates allow it...if medical advances can cure you...if your will for healing is strong enough. You seem to be asking for a miracle, thus the matter of faith is definitely at issue; your square of Neptune/Moon suggests that you are apt to have difficulty bringing about a miracle yourself; also the conflict between Jupiter/Venus/Uranus is at issue. Still, with Uranus there is always the potential for sudden and unexpected occurrences...
the 9th H and Jupiter have to do with mobility on the big scale, while personal mobility is related to Mercury and Gemini; perhaps with Psun and Mercury approaching the ASC in your chart, an important change-over could come about, but that is some years ahead. Also the progression of Jupiter to your Moon is yet to come. There is nothing very promising at this time, according to the progressions, to indicate anything as miraculous at this phase of your life. Alas, there is not a lot of positive energies for any of us with the current transits either. Perhaps for now, acceptance is necessary, and in that there can be much soul development, that is not dependent on mobility, possible...IN view of the planetary concentration in the eastern hemisphere in your chart this can be indicative of individuals who are more 'of the world' than 'in' it. Through your experiences there is much you can share and teach to others, despite your disability; using the mind rather than scurrying about in the active world, so to speak. Social connections that serve to heal and assist others may be more in line with your destiny. Your Nodal Axis and 10th H would reveal further insights into your purposeful direction in life...that which you are meant to be doing. Rather than bemoaning your circumstance, the Creative Force is inducing you to move beyond the mundane, and move to a higher plane of consciousness and awareness where all things are possible. I bid you to consider that 'the things you do for others matter more than the things you do for ourselves'...it is not the spoon that bends, it is only yourself...:innocent:

Hi again,
Further to what has already been written, there does appear to be a light of hope appearing at the end of the tunnel. Yet, as with all things, it depends upon whether you see what it shows and what you can draw from it. As I mentioned in my previous post to you last year, there is a pessimistic side to the Pisces influence in a chart. This could override the Aries fighter side in you, for which the maxim 'the possible we do at once; the impossible takes a little longer' would fit adequately.

You do not mention any long term forecast from the dr.'s, which could mean that you are still in a state of limbo.
Drawing upon experience that may help, my husband broke both legs and crushed an ankle bone in an accident. He was incapacitated for 3 months, having to learn to walk again with the aid of metal plates and screws in the legs for support. He was warned of nerve and muscle atrophy; the lack of feeling in the limbs that made one feel that their lower body could not support them. This in turn could bring about a 'psychological fear' of trying to walk. The physiotherapists had to overcome the one and encourage the other.

Atrophy is a state produced by Neptune. You have included your progressed chart this time and there are some interesting correlations at work.
For several years the secondary progressed Mercury (nerves) in the chart has been contacting natal Neptune(comatose, anaesthetics, medication, states of numbness) in what, strangely, is a positive aspect. Relief from nerve pain could have had its benefits. The aspect is now past exactitude and will be easing off; you may already be feeling the slight, yet initial return of a twinge sensation in your legs.
Secondary progressed Mars(muscles) has now also made contact with natal Neptune through a positive aspect. Under influence of Taurus, Mars can deliver hard and strenuous physical work upon any 'lazy' attitude that seems inherent in the sign. It's not so much laziness as taking it easy to do anything BEFORE one is certain what the effect will be! The muscles can become stronger. Put the two energies together and what can happen to the symptoms of atrophy????
Mid 2014 sees transiting Neptune aspect its natal position. Disappearance of a physical debilitation?

Secondary progressed Moon has been working its way through Pisces, the 12th house (hospitalisation) and the Ascendant (physical constitution) during the last 2½ years. One can feel very debilitated and washed out.
S.p. Moon has now entered Aries, THE sign of energy production. You may be feeling it flowing through you already: Use it! Within 6 months it is going to aspect natal Neptune , opening the natal Moon-Neptune square (challenge). You will undergo the return of the Moon to its natal position.
It will go on to reach Mars in its own sign. Muscle strength back???

Sec.progr. Jupiter, although a lot slower, can sometimes move into a position in which it can produce opportunites towards positive development, improvement, and growth. In your chart it will leave Pisces within the next year and take up residence in Aries where it will remain for the remainder of one's natural life span. It's leaving 'old growth' behind and beginning something entirely new. Jupiter rules the 9th house, its natural home, associated with health, specialised (philosophical) advanced study, and social advancement. You may feel inspired to take a health journey of some kind, be influenced by a belief patten, etc.
Transiting Jupiter is now in Cancer where it is activating natal Ascendant and Mars. It's past the critical 'low feeling' point. Your own optimism should be gaining inner strength. Mid 2014 sees it positively aspecting its natal position before entering Leo and the 6th house. Creative activity to work upon self improvement as well as upon any physical complaint.

In April this year, there is a grouping of celestial energy on 13* of the cardinal signs (I know because my natal Moon is positioned on one!). It includes Uranus, modern ruler Aquarius, both of which are physically
associated with involuntary spasms, paraysis, yet are also indicative of (positive) change. With your natal Sun on 13* in Aquarius, your energy
will come under its influence. Let it work positively for you.

So much positive energy in you waiting to free itself.
The seemingly impossible IS possible if there is enough faith that one can do it, with or without the miracle.

Once again, all good luck to you.

[P.S. Son-in-law in last year's reply got an interview and job (import/ export) the day transit Jupiter turned direct last January 30th, 2013! Seems things happen when the time is right for them to happen.]

The most blatant indicator that you will walk again is your Mars. Right in your natal chart it shows you have the ability to recover from this through sheer force of will and active endeavors. And from the way you come across, I don't think you'll have any problems doing that!

All signs point to yes!
