Saturn Return is beginning to kill me...

I admit I lost some interest in astrology in the past year, but I just realized why my life is so messed up right now and I had to return to it... I'm having my Saturn Return. And it's not going well. My job is paying less and less, I suddenly became fed up with my university (where I'm studying history) and want to learn something different (I'm eyeing web design courses, quite a different thing from what I was studying, though it can land me a better paying job, but I'm so unsure I can do this...)

My return chart has Mercury on asc, and it's the ruler both of my asc and my IC (both in the birth and the return chart). In the return chart this Mercury&Asc conjunction trines a Pluto&North Node conjunction. I guess it shows that it's time to move on to something new in terms of career?

Saturn conjuncts Sun and is Lord of 5th in the return chart. I'm longing to be more creative, in fact I have urges of creativity more and more often.

Mars conjuncts both Return Venus and my natal Venus in the return chart. Also, there is a Jupiter&Uranus conj on the cusp of 7th house in the same chart, both retrograde, though. I haven't been lucky with relationships in my life so far, maybe Saturn is bringing some changes in this part of my life as well?

Venus, I suspect that your experience of transiting Saturn is as much to do with its conjunction to natal Jupiter as it has to Saturn itself. Then there's the square to natal Mars which potentially can give you the energy and drive to turn your energies elsewhere. Saturn conj Saturn-Jupiter conjunction is a turning point for you, and perhaps there will be opportunities in another area, but you need to keep a watch on your thoughts because you could develop negative thinking.

Given Saturn is transiting a venus-ruled sign, and has been hovering around your 2nd house cusp - Venus-ruled house - to be looking at a new activity which uses your own Venus is probably the right things to be doing now. however you express this Venus it will require a lot of control on your part. Your merc-Uranus conjunction in 3rd seems to describe your new area of interest. Go for it if that is your desire.

Saturn is a great teacher. However we don't always want to learn the lessons saturn teaches. At my saturn return severe depression set in, a so called friend tried to rape me and I gained a ton of weight and it took years to lose it. A very good friend of mine (a man who any woman would love to have) married during his saturn return in july 2006 and sank into depression because he had no idea he would be miserable. He is trying to make it work for the kids sake and is just recently coming out of his shell and being social again. At the time of my saturn return I did not study astrology so I did not know what was going on but now that we know these things we can prepare in advance for them so for my next return at age 56 - 58 I will be ready for it. Or as ready as I can be.

I just want to add, that from your natal chart, career that has to do with communications(Mercury ruled MC) and new technologies(Aquarius on 6th house cusp) such as web design is very fitting, especially since Mercury and Uranus are conjunct in 3rd house. I think with these aspects you cannot go wrong here, and Saturn return is good in teaching you his, pulling you to what you're supposed to do. Hope this helps
