Glad to have found this forum, just registered today.

I am not an astrology, but I come form a family of astrologers practising for several generations in India, all my uncles and family elders are professional vedic astrologers.

I on the other hand have a background in software engineering and data science. I love astrology and love software, finally got the chance to combine the two disciplines into one.

For past two years, as a hobby , I am investigating patterns in astrology through machine learning and statistical analysis. To begin this journey I developed my own astrological software using NASA JPL data, this was to ensure extreme accuracy. Most recently I released a data set of 60 thousand vedic natal charts of famous people, celebrities, criminal etc.

Looking to learn and get feedback from more professional astrologers.

TRADITIONAL ASTROLOGY ONLY board at http://www.astrologyweekly.com/forum...splay.php?f=92
For discussions on Traditional Astrology only.
excludes modern planets Neptune, Uranus and Pluto
non-Ptolemaic aspects, as well as any asteroids.
The focus is less on what would be considered modern psychological chart interpretation
and more on prediction.
Members who wish to explore a combination of traditional and modern ideas
should feel free to start a new thread in an appropriate forum for further discussion.

our MODERNIST ASTROLOGY ONLY board
is at https://www.astrologyweekly.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=95
For discussions on Modern Astrology only.
Note: Typically, modern astrology is defined as using techniques developed around the late 1800s by Theosophists.
Specifically it relies on psychological, evolutionary, karmic, and non-western interpretation approaches
and includes Neptune, Uranus and Pluto
and non-Ptolemaic aspects.
The focus is more on psychological chart interpretation instead of prediction.

I had not heard of solar fire, just read it and it looks like a very established product. I need my own software for multiple reasons. Unlike other software which may do a great job for individual horoscopes, I need software that can process millions of charts. For example , in birth time rectification I need ability to scan hundreds of charts around a certain time , so if your birth time is 10:17 , I needs to go several minutes plus-minus second by second , lot of control is needed over the computation. Another thing is confidence level in the Ayanamsa, which is angle of ecliptic. Not sure about solar flare, but none of the vedic softwares do a good job of Ayanamsa. I need ability to go to the core NASA dataset and develop a more accurate ephemeris from ground up. And then ofcoarse a product is a product. There may be a line up of astrology software , but if I also stand in same line, maybe I can offer something they cant.... who knows, maybe my horoscope is not cut out for making horoscopes.... only time can tell

You have millions of horoscopes to process? The largest DB on the planet is the one at Astro.com, and there are only 77,000 horoscopes there. The Church of Light developed a system of determining the strength and harmony of Planets, houses, sign, and aspects using 50,000 charts each with a 12 page questionnaire. They statistically processed the data from the questionnaires over a period of 30 years from about 1920 to 1950, and produced a complicated mathematical formula that took about 12 hours of computation for each chart for all the planets, houses, signs, and aspects. Of course until the first computer program for it was written in the mid 1990’s, no one used it.

Maybe that was wrongly phrased. Not millions of individual charts by any stretch of imagination. I mean millions of times a chart needs to be calculated. For example, the birth chart is calculated just once for one native. But, transits are calculated continuously. Then our system allows users to add life events, for example I had an accident on date XYZ, then our system has to do hundreds of what if scenario, each what-if scenario will need to calculate alternative charts..... to say hey user you said you were born at 10:17 but your date/time of accident might imply you were born 10:13 etc. That is just one event, but if you have to do curve fitting on 20 life events then it gets exponentially higher. So yeah, I need fine control over what calculations are done , when they are done, how they are done and how many times they are done. Unless someone gives me access to their source code and freedom to modify it (not going to happen), then I have no alternative to develop from scratch.

Thanks, will certainly reach out to kaktuzz. That is a very popular platform.
