Back Problems & Other Agony-Inducing Issues

This may be a bit long-winded, but it would be cool if I got some tips off of here so I'm not writhing in pain all of the time....

As far as my lifestyle habits go, I'd call it healthy, though it really hasn't been for that long. These health problems started long before I quit smoking, which was a month and a half ago, since adolescence that I've had these problems.

Currently, I eat extremely healthy(no dairy, lots of vegetables, flaxseed bread instead of normal bread, junk food maybe 2x a week tops, fiber is an extremely high priority for me, etc.), do yoga almost daily, and drink upwards of 3 liters of water. So you'd think I'd be very healthy, not feeling like a 68 year old in a 28 year old's body.

1. My neck has made a nasty cracking sound for years now. In addition, my wrists and ankles crack occasionally. And my spine is extremely stiff. For example, looking over my shoulder to see if a lane is clear to change into while driving is painful. And recently, I have not gone a morning without waking up with excruciating pain in my neck and shoulders, which leads to me needing a lot of time to move around in the morning to feel fully conscious.

2. I'm, um, not at all regular. This also causes unbearable pain for me. I constantly feel like I'm pregnant with triplets.

I have been to specialists about the 2nd problem, and they weren't able to help me. Nonetheless, I would love to be going for regular chiropractic adjustments, but I am currently in school working on my degree without my family helping me, so that is out of my budget.

Both of these problems severely affect my mood, my ability to concentrate in class, it's getting to the point where I'm scared that if I let this go for another few months I'll effectively be disabled. Any advice, astrological or not, about how to deal with these problems is appreciated, plus I'm terrified also that old age is not going to look good for my body at the rate I'm going.

Thanks :)

And I forgot to attach my chart. On that note I feel like my health is impairing my brain function as well. :crying:

Hi Mia,
When reading your post and before looking at your chart, the following thoughts arose from the health astrology perspective.

1) The neck and shoulders are ruled by Taurus and Gemini.
The wrists are ruled by Gemini,
Spine is across the Leo-Aquarius axis with various vertebrae under separate rulership; lower lumbar region is Libra,
Ankles are the area of Aquarius,
'cracking' sounds very much like Aquarius,
bones brings in Capricorn.

2)The Menstrual cycle falls under Moon,
Irregularity sounds a lot like Aquarius or an influence from the mutable signs.
The menstrual cycle is part of the feminine reproductive cycle, which brings in Libra (hormonal)/Scorpio (reproduction).

I would expect to find these signs heavily aspected in your chart in the 1st-6th-9th houses regarding health issues, OR their rulers in harsh aspects over the same houses.

One peak at your chart shows the proof of the pudding, doesn't it?

I have been to specialists about the 2nd problem, and they weren't able to help me. Nonetheless, I would love to be going for regular chiropractic adjustments, but I am currently in school working on my degree without my family helping me, so that is out of my budget.

Which means physio-chiro help is financially out of the question. It's a question of head down to the grindstone. What a lot of weight (is felt) to be placed on the neck and shoulders. However, you could hold your head high and be exceptionally proud of yourself that you are self-sufficient and managing without help.

Both of these problems severely affect my mood, my ability to concentrate in class, it's getting to the point where I'm scared that if I let this go for another few months I'll effectively be disabled. Any advice, astrological or not, about how to deal with these problems is appreciated, plus I'm terrified also that old age is not going to look good for my body at the rate I'm going.

leaving 'psychological' or 'herbal/vitamin treatment' help. I cannot offer help with the latter but looking at a chart from an health astro. perspective can say a lot because it works from the knowledge that physical complaints are a result of problems of the psyche and/or emotions one has difficulty in dealing with. For easy results you might find Louise Hay's comparitive interpretation of physical disorders very revealing!

If you are terrified about a disorder becoming chronic (Capricorn and Saturn influence), it is up to you to do something about the Libra-Capricorn square so prominent in your chart. What does this convey to you in the way you act with and towards others on a private level? The Venus-Saturn square is one of mutable reception; meaning it offers an outlet one might not usually find in a challenging aspect. What do you need to deal with and accept that will make you more flexible and 'less stiff like a rod up the spine' ?
There's more of a weight on your shoulders than just involves studying for a degree.

You have not yet undergone the Saturn return, which brings the transforming years to the maturity of adulthood. This could suggest that you are still living life through your Moon feelings and the issues with which you were confronted in childhood in them, that still play a part in your everyday actions. Pisces Suns can have difficulty feeling they are invisible and not seen, a feeling of weakness can occur, whereby they have need of Mars' active energy to show they physically exist and are also important.
Mars' energy at its best in Libra is employed in honest active competition, diplomacy, social injustices; .....you versus me issues, where 'me' has just as much say as 'you'. A harsh aspect with a willing Pisces Sun and 'you' might get more of a look in than 'me'. With Pluto included, the stellium is like 'a time bomb' waiting to explode. The time may have come for the Sun to stand straight and tall and show its backbone in a positive manner.

With most of the major transits still occuring in the final or first degrees of the signs, your Moon and Sun are undergoing the necessity of inner and outer change. Dealing with the issues you may have pushed aside or suppressed for too long will be instrumental towards coming out of any ordeals as a much stronger person. You might feel a weight lifted from your shoulders and your life take on a regularity as you would wish it and are prepared to live with, as a transference of energy from body to spirit occurs.

Have a think about it.

Thank you!!!! Very thorough and very good food for thought. Actually my Saturn Return is scaring the hell out of me. I was getting scared that that, and old age could only make things worse! I know a lot of it is psychosomatic, and I am happy to experiment with alternative remedies, herbs, etc.

Thanks, and I do try to get in the long hot showers whenever possible. I did try glucosamine pills as well, but those didn't seem to help. Do you remember the names of any of the herbs you've tried?

There are number of pretty safe herbal remedies, although to be effective they should be individualized for each case (a very simple way is through muscle testing).
These herbs include Horse Chestnut, Barberry, Chickweed, arnica ointment applied topically over the affected area, camphor ointment (Tiger Balm) used in the same way, Solomons Seal, Boneset herb; among homeopathic remedies Nux vomica 6x, Rhust toxicodendron 6x alternated with Bryonia alba 6x, combination of Hamamelis virginica 3x/Aesculus hippocastanum3x/Berberis vulgaris3x (all taken together), Antimonium tartaricum 6x (possibly through 30x), also to be considered is internal use of Traumeel tablets with concommitant topical application of either Traumeel Ointment or Zeel ointment to the affected area.

I'll suggest your consideration of acupuncture (or acupressure), warming indirect moxibustion, yoga asanas and tai chi practice, as important avenues of natural healing toward a cure (rather than suppression) of the condition.

I have been trying to drink chamomile more for the last few weeks, so hopefully the effect will build up in terms of pain relief then! I already do yoga at least 5 times a week if not every day, though that too is something very recent for me. Unfortunately I live in a remote and very conservative area, so pretty much everything when it comes to things like yoga, alternative medicines, even spirituality is do it yourself. I currently have 3 yoga DVDs on rotation, 2 of them being Vinyasa Flow and 1 of them being Kundalini. I've also been massaging Tiger Balm into my neck every morning lately. I've had the Magnesium tablets recommended as well with no special effect on me, but then everyone has different causes to their pain.

That said, that is a really good list of herbs, thank you! Without easy access to go see someone who can evaluate me, is there anything you'd recommend I order off the Internet?

For these types of remedies to work, they must be individualized to each case; you could study about each herb and then select the one or two which most closely matched your condition: this, combined with testing (muscle testing or radiesthesia) would be the optimal course to follow.

Otherwise you could do one of two things:

-you could first try out the combination homeopathic remedy Traumeel (taking the tablets and rubbing the ointment into the affected area 2/3 times daily)
.....or
-you could try the herbs and homeopathics empirically (trying each for a time, and moving down the list by exclusion-trial and error method); based upon their relative frequency of indication in back problems, that order (of the herbs/homeopathics mentioned in my posting, above) would be:

1-Horse Chestnut herb and Nux vomica 6x homeopathic, with topical application of arnica ointment to the affected area

2-Barberry herb and alternation of Rhus tox 6x + Bryonia 6x homeopathics

3-Chickweed herb and Antimonium tartaricum 12x (or 6c) homeopathic

4-Solomons Seal herb and topical application of Zeel ointment (homeopathic) to the affected area
