It would be the 6th, although you might check out the 3rd house, as well.

In natal charts, an afflicted moon seems to have more to do with mental illness than Mercury. For example, someone might be very intelligent (Mercury) yet suffer from a mental illness. There's that old-fashioned word "lunacy."

I would have an aditional look into 8th house as well - or connections of ruler of 3rd and 6th to 8th house- as it is house of psyche and subconsiously stored memories and psychological problems- and also predisposition for, from genetic inheritance, what can be released/revived by transit aspects.


Any obsession and compulsive disorders are also in 8th house- especially those, you don't have under control any more - also addictions.
