Will I Get this Job?

Hi all,

I'm quite rusty on my horary but I have a question and I'll give it a shot.

Will I Get this Job?

Quesitor: Capricorn on 1st, Saturn
Quesited: Scorpio on 10th for career, Mars

Saturn and Mars are conjunct, though Mars is separating.

Moon is applying to Mars
Moon is separating from a trine with Saturn and immediately applies to Mars by trine. I don't see any interruption or other aspects perfecting before the Moon does it's job. Successful Translation of Light?

I see various other factors but can't weigh their importance:

  • Saturn, me, is conjunct the ASC. I'm ... thinking about my situation? Saturn is approaching the ASC from the 12th - I have been stuck in a rut for a few months, partially waiting for a good job opportunity, partly held back from some depression. Saturn is in domicile in Capricorn, while in the 12th is in Joy and conjuncting the ASC, even stronger?
  • Mars - the employer is in the ASC - the employer 'comes to me'. Mars is angular also. Mars is in it's exaltation - possible 'exaggeration'? There is strong mutual reception between Saturn and Mars no? However, Moon and Mars don’t receive each other - Mars is in the fall of the Moon, the Moon is in fall of Mars. Something seems awry between these two. Can the Translation be delivered successfully?
  • The Moon - this is interesting, it's exalted, in it's house of Joy and Translates Light. So this I think is the third-party recruiter who called me out of the blue. Perhaps he is quite able to make this happen, what he can do on his side of things? The Moon is also ruled by Venus - which is in it's domicile, and angular. I wonder however - can I be sure the Moon is about me/the recruiter? It also rules open competition of house 7... Also, Saturn and Mars don't receive the Moon well - because Capricorn is the fall of the Moon. What can that mean?
  • Jupiter - is conjunct the MC, retrograding back onto it. Jupiter seems to rule both house 2 and house 11, my resources and my employer's. So it's a well-paid job? Anything else from it's position here?
  • There are quite a few seemingly strong planets here, no? Domiciles, exaltation, joy, angularity...not all of it will bear affect, but 'loud voices' anyway.

Any comments would be appreciated. :)

L10 in 1st house - it's in your pocket. That's a strong positive. However, south node in 1st house and Saturn stationary (first station). That's a strong negative.

One no and one yes. Hmm. I wonder if they may offer something else. Well I'll see eventually.

Whatever the outcome I'll put up the result. I have a written exam related to it this Sunday and a final interview next Wednesday.

I just realised when I saw the word Vox - voice in Latin, I do have just one thing in common with the chart from a natal perspective - my natal Moon is in the 3rd house (of Virgo). It might be material but I do see it being noted in horaries as 'connections'.

Jup rx on MC will somehow come into play, perhaps having to redo the exam or reapplying for another job or interview process is repeated. Some kind of repetition will happen. Actually Venus is opposing Jupiter on angle, Venus rules the 10th sign.

Moon does trine Mars but with mutual negative reception. And with Saturn on angle, it represents delay.

So I think a job is coming but will be with some obstacle.

Thanks for your reply, I appreciate all time and experience.

When we do these charts ourselves, it's too easy to see what we want to see... :)

So a few obstacles despite the positive suggestions in the chart.

It's a government job - that would be the Capricorn energy I guess. I don't understand why Scorpio would house the MC for this employer though. I did think they might want more experience on this one, but I'm told by the recruiter that that's not the case, and that I "should be feeling very confident" and it's small list. That said, anything could happen. It did cross my mind would they suggest another position if nothing else. I have worked for them before, a short contract but very positive parting terms.

The update is, I did the written test, today I also had the interview, but I've decided to withdrawn my application.

Thanks for updating. Yeah the aspects I mentioned didn't show this thing to go forward. I wonder if you will decide to reapply at a later stage.

I did see the Saturn (me) retrograde upcoming and at the time I couldn't have imagined why I would turn backwards, I thought the Moon would carry it through.

So what happened? At the interview, there were 3 people; the HR manager, the hiring (team) manager and a member of the team (who was an economist).

The HR manager I thought had clearly positive responses to my answers and I think I would definitely have got a yes from her.

The hiring manager was a bit quieter, though he seemed like an affable guy. I think he was surprised that I got up to speed with what the team was working on, he did have positive feedback on the written test.

The problem was the potential team mate. I thought he was a bit tough, a big smug, I think he thought little of my work experience, he had a lot of influence at the table, and ending it all I introduced my research (beautifully-designed) and in a portfolio and he said "just explain it in 30 seconds". The two managers looked at him with visible surprise. This is the guy I would be working with. So I pulled out. I told the recruiter briefly this and said I want to withdraw my application. It's not fear of rejection - with 2/3 on board, I think I'd still have a reasonable chance. But I'm not working with a guy like that. It's a highly specialised, technical area I'd be moving into and clearly the team support would be non-existent while I have huge pressure. Nope.

I did bump into a few of my old colleagues, including my previous manager and they all wished me good luck. But I'm currently not interested in going back there.

I know the recruiter wants to 'smooth it over', he keeps calling and emailing, but let's be honest, he wants a nice fee with a government contract, he cares less about what I have to put up with on the job.

Job co-workers - which house would I look to there?

7th house, i.e. L7 is exalted Moon - he is full of himself. But he's not as competent/strong as it seems. However, the one with the exalted significator has a clear advantage in a knock-out contest. Moon is in detriment of Mars though, i.e. he doesn't seem to like the new boss. And Mars is in detriment of Moon, i.e. the boss doesn't like that guy either. There is an applying trine though between him and the boss, so that's why he got there so easily. But given the mutual negative receptions, I don't think he's going to last. So maybe you should mull over replying to your recruiter. But right now, you are in a weak position with L1 retrograde and in the 12th house (self-undoing). So I'm afraid you may be doing some self-sabotage here. I perfectly understand your reasoning, and you would have a point if that guy would have already been working there (is he? I'm a little confused here). So there may be a misunderstanding on your part. Your significator is in its own sign, that means you are in good essential dignity, i.e. you are sought after. You have the skills required. Your situation is solid. But you are retrograde (accidental debility) and are in H12 so you may give yourself too little credit. So if he is going to be your definite team mate, you probably did the right thing (L1 in detriment of L7, you don't like that guy at all). If not, then you pulled out too early (the guy is rather indifferent toward you anyway). Thanks for the update though.

Thanks kindly for reading out the chart. It makes a lot of sense seeing it all put out that way.

So I literally just got a call, this time a senior recruiter from the agency. He said he didn't withdraw my application. He called the job and very diplomatically navigated, asking if I would be working with him, not much at all apparently. Further, the recruiter says they remember him and really don't like him...
They just got a call from the HR of the job...I've been offered it and considerably over asking salary (more than 25% extra)......I'm blown away and so were they by how much extra they were willing to go. I accepted............

Really good news. Congratualtions!

Now we know what Jupiter was doing there, Jupiter always means generous compensation, even when retrograde, hehe.
