Hi everyone,
I was thinking about heavy 12th house planets in my solar return chart this year. Does 12th house planets mean introspection or isolation...transiting north node is in my fourth house. I am trying to get into government job....with transiting south node in my 10th house...makes me doubtful of it...

A lot of people who work for the gov't (politicians, scientists, law enforcement, etc) have :sun: 12th, does not mean you will not get a job with the gov't because you have planets in 12th. It could be a time of isolation, imposed upon yourself to have more private time but it could also indicate a period of keeping things to yourself (secrets).

You have :jupiter: 1st, along with the :moon: a time to celebrate, maybe a job or something else that is beneficial for you.

The planetary aspects to the :sun: are more important than what house it's in. Your solar return is really positive, :uranus: can cause upsets & shocks but overall, it's nothing you can't handle.

First of all, do you still live in the same place you were born? If not, you have the incorrect reference place, which could make your solar return houses incorrect. To see how your solar return shows up in your life, you need to cast the chart for where you currently live. (A birthplace solar return chart could show other things, but if that's not where you live, its houses aren't really relevant to what you're experiencing on the ground.)

If the houses are correct, then the questions to ask are, what's ending in your life? What's beginning?

A busy SR twelfth house indicates the end of an era. Twelfth house is, after all, the end of the cycle. First house is the beginning of a new one. This solar return chart not only has a packed twelfth house, it also has a pretty busy first house: three planets including Moon. SR Moon shows where your emotional focus is. In the first house, it often means a focus on what new cycle is starting in your life.

If you have a busy twelfth house along with that first house Moon, you're still in the process of finishing the old cycle, much as you might want to leap into the new one. What needs to be wrapped up before you can move on?

That's natal Sun in the 12th, not solar return Sun. OP didn't say which house their natal Sun is in.

I wouldn't take the busy twelfth house to mean they won't get the job either, but for different reasons. Government hiring processes everywhere are notoriously slow. And we don't know what OP is doing in the meantime. There may be something they need to wrap up before they can start their government job, personally if not professionally. One way or another, so much going on in the twelfth house indicates a focus on whatever is coming to an end.

Saturn on the ascendant and Mercury retrograde could speak to that painfully slow hiring process, and it being heavily on the OP's mind.

thank you samantha bean, blackberry and osamenor for your replies and suggestions.

Following line by Blackberry sounded true "It could be a time of isolation, imposed upon yourself". This is a time of isolation for me. I am at home preparing for my govt job exams(yet to give my exams) and I choose not to work during this time. So it is a self imposed isolation. I miss socialising a lot because I am at home most of the times and don't have anybody to talk to except my parents.

Moving on to Osamenor's reply, "First of all, do you still live in the same place you were born?"

I live close to where I was born so there wont be major changes in the house positions I guess.

"If you have a busy twelfth house along with that first house Moon, you're still in the process of finishing the old cycle, much as you might want to leap into the new one. What needs to be wrapped up before you can move on?"

These words are very true. I am in the process of ending something in my life....dont know whether I will finish it successfully. 7 years ago I joined for PhD after I got a scholarship for it. At that time I was a very different person. I had plans to prepare for competitive government job exams. On the other side I was very scared also....and full of self-doubts like....being a woman will I be fit for high ranking government jobs. Slowly I gave my dream and did Post graduation and when I got the scholarship I joined PhD....basically chose something which came my way instead of fighting for my dreams.

2 years into PhD.....I was more into writing papers and attending conferences...I had applied for a travel grant abroad. I didnt get it. Drastically my life changed after that. I was slowly losing interest in PhD....I was not meeting my supervisor who didnt help me with publications and conferences. I was running away.....didnt know from what or whom. At the end of 5th year, I didnt have a written thesis in hand...had to face lot of humiliation from my supervisor.....submitted whatever I had written in the name of thesis in the year 2019. After one and half years my thesis came back for revision. I am in the process of rewriting the thesis. Actually I lost interest in it....but as a PhD researcher who enjoyed the benefits of the scholarship, it is my duty to submit a thesis. My deadline is next month. Even if I finish it there is no guarantee that my supervisor will sign it this time....all this worries me. Sometimes fear paralyzes me. Some days I end up doing nothing....or escaping into another world...neptune conjunct mars natally with the north node. I have attached my natal chart herewith...

Hopefully I finish my thesis and move on to exam preparations...

That's another possible meaning of Saturn on your SR ascendant: seven years is a Saturn quarter. Every seven years (plus 2-3 months) Saturn makes a hard angle transit to its original position. Those hard angles of Saturn signify cycles in themselves. When you commit to something, in seven years, that something is up for re-evaluation. Maybe an end of the commitment, maybe a new commitment. Ever heard the expression "seven year itch"? It's Saturn-related.

At that time I was a very different person. I had plans to prepare for competitive government job exams.
Between then and now, you went through your Saturn return. That does change people. It's natural to lose interest in what you were doing before when you have your Saturn return. It's also very common to give up dreams during that time, to decide they're unrealistic, you can't have them... because the trickster side of Saturn tells you that you can't have your dreams in any way, shape, or form.

Sometimes youthful dreams really are unrealistic, in the form that they come in: for example, if you dreamed of being a rock star but you were only ever a mediocre musician and you lived some place where the only opportunity for playing music was the occasional coffee house or bar gig, and you had a family to support on top of that, then it would not be realistic to be a rock star. But it would be realistic to play some music, and it would be realistic to fulfill whatever part of the rock star dream most spoke to you. It would just be fulfilled in a different way.

But if your dream is working for the government, there's no apparent reason why that would be unrealistic. Unless you simply could not get hired for it, but it doesn't sound like you've tried to find out.

On the other side I was very scared also....and full of self-doubts like....being a woman will I be fit for high ranking government jobs.

Those self doubts are, most likely, something you'll always have to deal with, given where your Chiron is. Chiron represents the wound that we're always in the process of healing. It can get better, but it's so deep that life isn't long enough to completely heal it.

Yours is in Leo, which is the sign of self. Your Chiron wound affects your sense of self most strongly. On your MC, it shows up most in insecurities around your career or your public image.

That does not mean you shouldn't pursue the career you want. If anything, it means you should, despite the anxiety. You'll have to do it through your anxiety and insecurities, and it's not going to be comfortable, but it's necessary. Work with it, and you should find the insecurities get less so over time, but they may not go away completely.

Thank you Osamenor for you thoughtful reply.

These lines gave much more clarity regarding my current situation.

"But if your dream is working for the government, there's no apparent reason why that would be unrealistic. Unless you simply could not get hired for it, but it doesn't sound like you've tried to find out."

Actually I havent whole heartedly tried for my dream of government job yet. Ghost of my PhD was always hanging around me. And people around me were shocked when they heard of my dream and the sudden turn my career took. Everybody thinks I wont do anything worthwhile in my life. Not a single soul to support and believe in me. Since 2020 it has been tough for me and I have wasted a lot of time in overthinking and escaping reality via movies.

Now I understand that I should finish one cycle of life and begin another to move forward in life. I have a lot more work to do in the chiron area. Thanks a lot for the clarity.

I am not good at reading solar return chart yet, still learning.
But in my 2020 solar return chart I had 4 planets in the 12th house. It was one of the most difficult years I had. Tbh, it was the worst. You will definitely feel isolated if nothing else. Try to stay calm, try meditating and yoga. Keep yourself busy with work. Don't bother with people. It will pass.

Thanks Avrillavigne. I should definitely try meditation because all the time I feel restless and end up doing nothing the whole day. Will try to calm down and focus. Thanks a lot:smile:
