As to DOJ investigation on GZ: I read on Politico that Holder was asked about it when he was in Ferguson and he responded that it was still on-going as new information/evidence is coming in. Vague.

Geez, Mars in Scorp is sure exposing a lot of garbage! Hopefully, Mars in Sag is an upgrade. ha!

'.....As darkness fell on Canfield Drive on August 9, a makeshift memorial sprang up in the middle of the street
where Michael Brown's body had been sprawled in plain view for more than four hours.
Flowers and candles were scattered over the bloodstains on the pavement.
Someone had affixed a stuffed animal to a streetlight pole a few yards away.
Neighborhood residents and others were gathering, many of them upset and angry.
Soon, police vehicles reappeared, including from the St. Louis County Police Department,
which had taken control of the investigation.
Several officers emerged with dogs. ...'

'....An officer on the street let the dog he was controlling urinate on the memorial site.

The day brought other indignities for Brown's family,
who were blocked by police from approaching their son's body.
Pace purchased some tea lights for the family,
and around 7 p.m. she joined Brown's mother, Lesley McSpadden, and others
as they placed the candles and sprinkled flowers on the ground where Brown had died.
"They spelled out his initials with rose petals over the bloodstains," Pace recalled.....'

'....police then prohibited all vehicles from entering Canfield Drive except for their own.

Soon the candles and flowers had been smashed, after police drove over them

'….A grand jury has until January 7 to decide
whether or not to bring criminal charges
against Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson,
who shot unarmed teenager Michael Brown to death August 9
St. Louis County Circuit Judge Carolyn Whittington
extended the usual four month period,
which expired last week,
and now grand jury has additional 60 days to make decision.
“She extended it to the full amount allowed by law,” said Court Administrator Paul Fox said.
Panel is hearing evidence in the Michael Brown case exclusively,
and can meet whenever it needs to.....'

Officer Wilson is on paid administrative leave

'….Grand jury composed of 12 people

selected from the standard jury pool
to meet in secret,
usually weekly,
to hear evidence
and decide whether criminal charges are warranted.
It takes nine votes to issue an indictment,
which sends a defendant to a public trial.
St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney Robert P. McCulloch can bypass a grand jury a
nd take a case to trial
by filing a complaint that goes first to a preliminary hearing,
a public proceeding in which a judge decides if there should be a trial.
Often, his office files a charge first
and then obtains an indictment to replace it, avoiding the preliminary hearing....'

'….McCulloch chose to take the full investigation
of Wilson’s use of deadly force to the grand jury,
announcing weeks ago that he would present all the evidence gathered,
l
eaving to grand jurors the decision of what to do.
As previously reported by NewsOne, Wilson shot Brown at least six times,
including twice in the head.
According to autopsy, the six shots produced numerous wounds
with some of the bullets entering and exiting several times,
including one that left at least five different wounds.
Officer Wilson was not identified immediately

It has now been reported that

State’s Attorney McCullough
,

who is going before the grand jury in the case of Darren Wilson killing Michael Brown,

is Vice President of an organization that supports and is raising money for Darren Wilson
.

'....There are more than two tiers of law in this nation.
There is law as it applies to rich white people,
there are laws that apply to black, Hispanic,
and poor whites of this country,
and
then there are laws that apply specifically for the “protection” of the law enforcement community…
Laws to punish members of the PD are among the first laws that require changing
There should be no laws, absolutely none, that allow a member of a police agency to murder another person without due process

However at this time,
a police officer is not only hard to bring to trial,
it is almost impossible to find a prosecutor that will work hard to convict him…'

Oh my God; what blatant corruption! (McCullough). Perhaps it's the best hope for justice that the Grand Jury will be making a decision. I cannot remember the makeup of the GJ: seem to recall at least a few African Americans.

There's so much media attention of this-hopefully that will help the Brown family.

The media attention has helped the Brown family at least get a DOJ investigation
however
some are of the opinion that
the longer the DOJ investigation is drawn out
the more people are going to believe it’s because the prosecutor is setting it up
so the grand jury will not indict.

How do I do quotes? I'm trying this...clicking on the QR button then typing a response.

re: reluctance of prosecutors to prosecute the police...of course...I hadn't thought about this. They are all in one big club, after all: each has their clearly defined role and woe to the prosecutor who tries to upset an arrangement that has worked for "the club" for a long time.

I've got to say, though, the situation is changing with nearly everyone having a cell phone and some brave souls risking arrest or at least intimidation by the police. Perhaps the tide will turn when more of this documentation is there for help with conviction of brutalities.

Just the other day I saw a youtube video of a woman filming cops beating up a guy on the sidewalk. She would not go away, just moved in close and kept filming. That woman was RELENTLESS! and brave! I was in awe of her. This is a powerful tool the police cannot take away. (For those afraid to testify or give witness statements for fear of reprisal. ) The strangling death of the man in NY was filmed, as was the 2nd shooting in St. Louis, just days after Michael Brown was shot.

Update on Michael Brown

NEW YORK DAILY NEWS REPORTS TWO NEW EYEWITNESS HAVE CONFIRMED OTHER EYEWITNESS ACCOUNTS

'…....The two eyewitnesses are important
because they did not know Brown, did not reside in Ferguson, did not have family there.
They witnessed the shooting while working outside on a construction project
at one of the apartment buildings lining street where Michael was killed.
They heard a single shot, looked up, saw Michael Brown running.
As the teen ran another shot was fired.
The teen then stumbled and stopped,
as if wounded,
and put his hands in the air.
" 'OK, OK, OK, OK, OK' ” were Brown’s words while turning to face Wilson,
whose weapon was drawn.
Brown allegedly then moved while keeping his hands in the air.....'

The first eyewitness who spoke to the Post-Dispatch said:

'......“He’s kind of walking back toward the cop,”

Like Wilson, Brown moved too, the witness said.
The officer took several steps back and opened fire.
Witness said Brown was shot three times before he began to drop his arms
and move toward Wilson. He said the teen managed to get about 25 feet toward the officer.
“I don’t know if he was going after him
or if he was falling down to die. It wasn’t a bull-rush.”....'

SECOND EYEWITNESS SAID THE OFFICER NEVER SAID ANYTHING TO MICHAEL BROWN BEFORE HE RAN AFTER HIM AND UNLEASHED A BARRAGE OF SHOTS.

'…. “At first his gun was down, then he got 8 to 10 feet away
I heard six, seven shots … seemed like seven.
Then he put his gun down. That’s when Michael stumbled forward.
I’d say 25 feet, then fell right on his face,” co-worker told the station.
Although these statements describe movement by the officer and Brown,
they are consistent with Dr. Baden’s autopsy results
and do not support bull-rush scenario provided on Facebook
by female friend of Wilson
who presumably repeated what Wilson told her.
No eyewitness saw Michael Brown rush Officer Wilson
Every eyewitness describes an execution.
We are witnessing a continuing disgrace that the officer has not been arrested
and charged with murder.....'

DARREN WILSON HAS TESTIFIED BEFORE THE GRAND JURY

QUOTE

'....9 August 2014 Ferguson Police Officer Darren Wilson shot Michael Brown 6 times,
twice in the head.
Shot to top of Michael’s head spilled his brains unto the street.
Photos and videos show Darren Wilson casually standing, walking around
as Michael’s blood flows like a river from his body.
Darren Wilson has been in hiding
and then on Tuesday
spent nearly four hours in front of a St. Louis County grand jury
despite not being required to testify.
Anonymous source called Wilson “cooperative,”
he has also given his side of the story twice to local investigators
and once to federal investigators....'
~ New York Magazine cites the Post-Dispatch

MSNBC has a video with an introductory line that says:

BIG QUESTIONS SURROUND OFFICER DARREN WILSON’S REPORTED GRAND JURY TESTIMONY.
LEGAL EXPERT LISA BLOOM HAS ANSWERS.

QUOTE

'.....Lisa Bloom says in the video, grand juries are secretive.
This case demonstrates that those in public trust betray trust.
There are conflicts of interests
with a Missouri State legislature
and
State’s Attorney McCullough
being officers in two different organizations
that raise money for Darren Wilson.

Now an employee in the judicial system,
is leaking information about who appeared before the grand jury.
That person betrayed confidentiality of grand jury system
and so has also betrayed public trust.
The grand jury’s investigation should be closed due to breach of confidentiality
and turned over to the federal government....'

Two news reports from MSNBC
on Darren Wilson testifying before the grand jury
bring out good points, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qinNVgACq1U
including that
State’s Attorney McCullough

is using the grand jury
to “investigate”
without telling them possible charge

There is so much wrong here. The GJ stalling until January, with hopes all will be forgotten, may not be successful this time. The public won't forget...

How does the DOJ investigation coordinate with the GJ-they're both independent of one another, aren't they?

How does the DOJ investigation coordinate with the GJ

-they're both independent of one another, aren't they?
DOJ presumably has access to all documentation produced before a Grand Jury as well as all proceedings

DEFINITION OF A GRAND JURY

'…..A grand jury = legal body empowered to conduct official proceedings to investigate potential criminal conduct and determine whether criminal charges should be brought and may compel production of documents/compel the sworn testimony of witnesses to appear before it and is separate from courts, which do not preside over its functioning.

Currently, only United States retains grand juries: these perform both accusatory and investigatory functions. Investigatory functions include obtaining and reviewing documents/other evidence and hearing sworn testimony of witnesses appearing before it. Grand jury's accusatory function is to determine whether or not there is probable cause to believe that one or more persons committed a certain offense within the venue of the district court.....'

The "grand jury" in United States
is composed of 16 to 23 citizens
and is so named because traditionally it has a greater number of jurors than a trial jury,
also known as a petit (French for small) jury or, in English usage the spelling can be petty jury
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_jury

by the way
It turns out that Darren Wilson likes working for racist police departments in Missouri
that engage in racial profiling and harassment of Black residents.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gwFtiDz4DQI

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VaOfouERM1M The Jennings Police Department was disbanded by the city council and every single officer fired including Wilson. It also turns out that Wilson got a commendation for apprehending a non-violent drug offender and delivering a new slave to the prison plantation

On Friday, Florida Department of Corrections Secretary Michael Crews,

All were accused of criminal wrongdoing or misconduct
in connection with the deaths of inmates at four state prisons.

.

REMINDERS

No blood sample was taken from GZ the night he killed Trayvon Martin, Junior schoolboy
a teen of good character with no criminal record

FURTHERMORE
important forensic evidence was not collected/taken note of at the scene.
GZ was not arrested for over six weeks after the killing.

Clearly GZ has powerful backers in Law Enforcement

"GZ's grandfather, ROBERT WALTER ZIMMERMAN, born 5 February 1919 Chicago
- son of Clémence Robert and Meu (Becker)
joined U.S. Foreign Service 1947 after Harvard
– died 5 March 1999 aged 80 Washington, DC, of heart attack.
Grave site on wooded hillside offers clear view of State Department's diplomatic entrance.

As late as 1992 GZ's grandfather was working for the CIA
in Langley Virginia after retirement from diplomacy

Both GZ's father AND grandfather are called Robert Zimmerman.

- i.e. GZ's father and grandfather have different middle names BUT they share identical first names.

The CIA connection is GZ's grandfather Robert W Zimmerman

Sanford police awareness of those strong CIA connections may have influenced their actions

It is well documented that GZ WANTED to be a police officer.

BUT GZ WAS NOT A COP

GZ yearned to be a cop the way he IMAGINED

and
GZ's father and grandfather's connections allowed GZ free access to Sanford Police Department
where he had many close friends

"After killing teen schoolboy minor Trayvon Martin,
GZ hid at the home of federal law-enforcement agent
U.S. Air Marshal Mark Osterman,
a former Seminole County Sheriff deputy who was pressured to quit
after he was duped by a con artist
and
violated department policy!

U.S. Air Marshal Mark Osterman was the friend
who taught Zimmerman how to shoot,
and
Osterman's wife presided over Zimmerman’s wedding.
They met 2006, through Osterman's wife, Sondra,
who worked with Zimmerman at a mortgage-services company.
Zimmerman was a loan originator;
Sondra Osterman a loan processor.
They later worked together at a different company, Digital Risk....'

the shooter's father,
a retired STATE MAGISTRATE.
The shooter was then free to go

If the blatant attack had not been captured on video
it is unlikely we would be reading the following headline news

MARLENE PINNOCK, WOMAN BEATEN BY CALIFORNIA HIGHWAY PATROLMAN, SETTLES FOR $1.5 MILLION

Marlene Pinnock, 51 was punched repeatedly by California Highway Patrol officer Daniel Andrew
by a freeway July 1. A passing driver captured video
and she filed suit in August and now will receive $1.5 million.
The officer has agreed to resign.
CHP Commissioner John Farrow said in a statement that Officer Andrew,
who joined the CHP in 2012 has been on paid administrative leave since the incident
and “Has elected to resign.
When this incident occurred, I promised that I would look into it and vowed a swift resolution.
Today, we have worked constructively to reach a settlement agreement
that is satisfactory to all parties involved.”

Andrew could still be charged criminally in the case.
CHP forwarded results of investigation to Los Angeles County prosecutors last month,
saying he could face serious charges. None have been filed yet.
Bulk of settlement forms a special needs trust for Pinnock.

Pinnock’s attorney Caree Harper said the settlement fulfilled the two elements her side was looking for.
“One of the things we wanted to make sure of was that she was provided for in a manner that accommodated her unique situation in life,
and that the officer was not going to be an officer anymore and we secured those things.”

George Zimmerman had close friends within Sanford Police Department and was influenced by their attitudes

'…...Department of Justice letter to Ferguson Police Chief Tom Jackson, Missouri Friday
instructed all officers to stop wearing “I Am Darren Wilson” bracelets.
Another letter issued Tuesday ordered members of police department to wear readable name plates,
after officers were seen wearing unidentifiable tags or none at all.
Protests have not stopped in Ferguson since officer Darren Wilson shot and killed unarmed18-year-old Michael Brown, in August. In response to civil unrest, which regained steam after Brown’s memorial was burned to the ground on Tuesday, and the use of the slogan “I Am Mike Brown,” officers were photographed wearing bracelets supporting the officer who killed him.....'

'…..DOJ letter sent to Jackson explained that the bracelets contributed to an “us versus them” mentality and “upset and agitated” others.
In a separate letter, the DOJ also said that officers must stop violating name tag protocol by obscuring or altogether not wearing their name tags. The practice, DOJ said, “conveys a message to community members that, through anonymity, officers may seek to act with impunity.”
Ferguson police previously drew national attention for the militarization of officers, which made the town look like a war scene and resulted in the arrest and attempted censorship of journalists on the ground. Clashes between police and protestors haven’t stopped.....' https://blackbutterfly7.wordpress.c...to-stop-wearing-i-am-darren-wilson-bracelets/

'…..Although Jackson gave Brown’s parents a video apology and joined protesters in the streets this week, Darren Wilson still hasn’t been charged, raising questions about the justice system and politics in the town. Ferguson has a history of racial tension, and research shows that justice is hard to come by for victims of police brutality. For example, a Supreme Court ruling gives police legal deference to determine “reasonable” force. But protestors say civil unrest will continue until the officer is held accountable......'
