Orb VS Aspect?

If you have an outer planet conjunct an inner planet in your natal chart, does it cancel out the effect of an outer planet conjunction to an inner planet from another person in synastry, even if the orb is tight?

For example, if two people who are born a few months apart started a relationship, and Person A has Venus conjunct Pluto, does Person B's Pluto still have a Plutonic effect Person A's Venus if the orb is 1 degree or less?

To summarize, does the effect of an aspect depend on orb or do natal aspects cancel out synastry aspects of people in the same age group despite tight orbs?

Re: Orb VS Aspect?

Good question. They don't really cancel each other out. In the case you mention, Pluto is a generational aspect, so a lot of people born in the same period would have Pluto on the Venus of the second person. In the natal, the person has Venus/pluto so it is an energy they would be particularly attuned to, and would get used to others effecting them in a particular way. The closer the orb the stronger the effect is felt. In the synastry chart there are many other considerations that could modify the aspect. For example, the second person might have a natal moon that trines the Venus/pluto conjunction, or that squares it.

Re: Orb VS Aspect?

Hi. An interesting thing about this is that person A would have gone through school surrounded by people whose Plutos were triggered by her/his Venus. This could have resulted in person A being scapegoated and/or seen as powerful/seductive, which then 'programs' her/him up to experience this natal aspect and synastry aspect in a certain way.

But generally speaking, I think that the synastry aspect you mention would be less powerful in the experience of person A because she/he has 'seen it all before' within her/his own psyche and in relations with peers.

Best wishes
