Would I make a good saleswoman?

I'm looking for a new job and was looking at Nordstrom as a saleswoman. I stumbled across this article from 2004 that talked about a salesman who made a million dollars just selling clothes and it really intrigued me. My dad has been a high-end watch salesman for 19 years and has consistently been one of the top performers in his huge company every year for the past 19 years, even better than the ones who have been there for 30 years.

This is the article about the salesman who made a million dollars: http://m.seattlepi.com/business/article/Nordstrom-salesman-s-million-dollar-secret-is-in-1140669.php

I feel like Mercury in Aries in the 10th makes me a fast talker in my work and can really help me think quickly.

While your tenth house would make you career driven, I noticed the article states it was his networking capabilities he credits. And you do have mercury in your tenth house Aries. But Gemini is 12th house cusp. This position for Gemini tends to be selfless service and not good for the soul to take advantage of your talents for selfish gain. So I think you could, but I'm not sure its in your best interest. I further would worry in such a pusuit with Leo in the 2nd house (worldly values). You value stature and financial security. Obtaining that is one thing. As a goal to be filthy rich I think again this could play out poorly for yourself. I'm not saying rich people are bad or have no soul, there are many happy and philanthropic wealthy people out there. It's what drives that for some that it may come with a different kind of expense. I would be careful in how you use salesman skills and for what goal.

Keep in mind this is the opinion of a die hard socialist. So maybe someone else doffers on this opinion?

I'm not looking to be a millionaire, I'm looking to be financially stable like any sensible Taurus sun :). I'm not a ruthless Anna Wintour or Wolf Of Wall Street type hah. My Cancer Ascendant is far too kind to be so shady and conniving.

Good to hear lol! I think the article threw me

Initially I wasn't going to read the article but I hesitated and decided you shared it for a reason lol

Well he has motivated me to apply. If a regular Joe can network his way to the top in retail then I sure can. I am extremely passive with work and don't like to work hard (my Earth trine and Taurus sun make me a little lazy), but I think this shows me that retail can be a way of earning money for school while still in college

I think so.

Pisces MC, Jupiter 3rd, Uranus/Neptune 7th, and TN/NN in 6th are all helping placements, so to speak.

You also have a grand trine in Earth, and your Sun is in the 11th house. So you do well in communicating with others.

So you don't think I'd royally f*ck up hahaha. You think I can do it well?

You could do it well---if you really wanted to. The Moon in Cap in the 6th could do the work very well and could make good connections with the customers and gain the trust of the bosses. However, the squares to Merc/Venus in Aries in the 10th may be challenging. It might be hard not to criticize the bosses, and feel that you should be the manager instead of the inept, inefficient dolt in charge. It may be hard to bite your tongue and not argue with them or co-workers. It might feel too confining and not creative enough. If you could see the big picture and slowly work towards being the boss, and eventually being the owner, it could be beneficial. But if you get too impatient and want to have it all without putting in the time and effort, then it might be frustrating and all that.

You have a wonderful grand trine with Sun/Moon/Jupiter. It MIGHT indicate that at some point you will accrue abundance. But to do so, in my opinion, you must master the T-sqaure to your 10th. And to do so means that you learn to accept that you are not always the one in charge and need to defer to others and respect everyone, even if you have some better ideas. And learn not to try shortcuts when it may lessen the quality of the product. The T-square wants to get everywhere fast, which sometimes compromises the end result.

Having all those trines is great but also a double edged sword. It helps to make one feel confident and self assured. But it might also give a false sense of confidence if the work is not done to build the necessary essential skills to back it all up. And the Mercury inconjunct Jupiter in Virgo says the Devil is in the details. Your great plans are magnificent but suffer from a lack of proper planning and follow through?

I say go for it. Any opportunity that comes your way. You are totally capable and just need to commit your whole self.
