Does having Mars in Scorpio cancel out Mangal dosha?

I have Mars in my ascendant which would usually give me Mangal Dosha. However Mars is in Scorpio and I have heard that this can cancel out its effect. However to further complicate things I also have Ketu in my ascendant and therefore Rahu in my 7th house (which I believe is the house of marriage). If I do have Mangal Dosha are there any remedies?
