Lowest point in my life...

I have had a stutter for the past 10 years of my life and I have tried all sorts of things to get rid of it. I've recently been trying to ignore it and just live my life and until this week I found that because of this my stutter was reducing in severity and I was feeling much more confident.

This week I probably have had the worst stuttering period of my life and it has all happened in front of my work colleagues. It has been extremely embarassing and it has got to a point where I think I have alienated myself from my colleagues. It has destroyed my confidence and I'm feeling so unbelievably depressed I don't know what to do. I feel like my stuttering has a grip over me and I don't see any hope in my life because of how it embarasses me in public and holds me back from having much of a social life. I simply do not know what to do.

My question is, by looking at my chart can you see when (or if) my stuttering will go away? And also I'd like to know if it does in fact show that this past week has been the lowest point in my life (Maybe the effect of the transit of pluto conjunct neptune?) and when will it turn around for me?

Hi ! Briefly from your chart Pluto is around your asc? I don't see Saturn mercury aspects fatally although Saturn transit will hit your mercury at 25 Libra coming.? Have you thought of talking in circles? Metaphorically or talk like singing? Ultimately you are the one judging yourself. Maybe time for a holiday? With music I hope. Don't stress think of the patterns . How to describe... if one wanted to say "what a direct dreadful day " instead of getting flustered one would sing it in a tune that circled ..with open arms even

Also, briefly what strikes me is your mercury at 25 Libra. A most fortunate degree. Pls check fixed stars at that degree. Most fortunate. Live and light annette

Govind, I would recommend that you make an appointment with a licensed, qualified speech therapist.

And be sure to see the Academy Award-winning film The King's Speech. King George VI of England stammered, and the film is about how he worked with a speech therapist to control it.

http://www.astrologyweekly.com/forum/showthread.php?t=17546&page=2

In the beginning of Liz Greene's (famous prolific author on astrology), “Astrology for Lover's” book there is a good chapter on What astrology can and can't do.
“Astrology is baffling because it works. What it's not is a way of foretelling the future, or of determining whether that tall dark stranger will turn up next week. To put it briefly the horoscope is a map of the psyche of the individual. it's a kind of blueprint, a seed plan, a model of the energies and drives which make up a person. Because it's calculated precisely for time and place, it's unique, unlike the sun sign column. Even identical twins are born at least four minutes apart, and in four minutes the picture has shifted.”

“Astrology can be used to help you in many ways. It can reveal damaging behavioral patterns or forewarn you of upcoming challenges. It can help you pinpoint latent talents you may possess and provide you with specific hints on how to best develop them. Astrology can also point out expansive, rewarding trends that are coming up and assist you in figuring out how to take advantage of them before they fade. Finally, astrology is an excellent means to determine the perfect timing for certain actions.” http://www.cafeastrology.com/articles/whatastrologycandoforyou.html

“The beauty of astrology is that it will help you to always be in complete control of your life. Astrology is not fortune telling: but it is a recognition that we have free will. We know we are not controlled by the planets, but the planets do create a certain atmospheres of constriction or ease, that keeps us on our toes. Alas, you cannot blame the planets and say, for example, Saturn made me do it! The few times I have said this to an audience, most people laugh it does sound funny.”
http://www.cafeastrology.com/articles/whatastrologycandoforyou.html

“The planets work to help us help ourselves. By applying pressure, planets help us to overcome inertia. At other times, they help us to see unproductive or even self-destructive behavior that we may have never noticed before but that we can fix. Astrologers believe we must be accountable for our actions and to recognize that we do have choices. The study of astrology will help you sort out all your options and to act at the proper time.” http://www.cafeastrology.com/articles/whatastrologycandoforyou.html

Re: I've hit rock bottom

astro.com has a free 'personal portrait' interpretation of a natal chart in the free horoscope section, you simply put the cursor on a planet and it brings a pop up box to explain what it means to have a planet in that house and any other aspects it has to natal planets. plus a six month free transit report in 'short report' Robert Hand gives a valuable in depth explanation of transits here – only slight objection I have with astro, is they use orbs of upto maybe 10' approaching, exact and departing. So most transits seem very long in effect. I use more realistic orbs of 1' approaching, 1' exact and 1' departing.

here is my favourite online ephmeris which plots where the planets are for hundreds of years...

your chart ruler saturn is stuck in 12th and apex for common T Square, saturn squares sun showing a lack of rapport with father. Sun square neptune could show identity crisis espec in teenage years. Sun square uranus adds impatience and wanting to do unusual things that feed the pride/ego.

Your mercury planets of communications is 'well aspected' but I think your problems are linked to neptune conjunct Ascendant

Neptune conjunct Ascendant
You are a sensitive and imaginative person, and this may prove to be a blessing, or a curse. It could provide sufficient imagination to inspire a sequel to Jurassic Park, or Star Wars, if used constructively, but by the same token, it may also make it rather difficult for you to define your own boundaries in life, allowing others to ride over your feelings and requirements. There is likely to be ample opportunity in life to learn all about defining your boundaries one way or another. You may appear rather dreamy to others, not making yourself and your intentions very clear, so it is important that you constantly strive to make it very clear indeed that what you say.

Confusion in how you present yourself to others can be a very common manifestation of this particular placement. it can also make you very psychic, receptive and mediumistic which could prove to be of great benefit to those in need; just make absolutely sure that you don't go through life constantly being a martyr to those people and causes that are not really in need of one.

Re: I've hit rock bottom

Over last two/three years T Pluto has/is gong over your Ascendant, this is a *major* life changing transit which can last upto 18months poss bit longer.

Transiting pluto is fast approaching a square to natal mars which you must be careful at handling these energies, as it can attract/give out violence. It can suggest surgery and/or massive ego/action problems....

This is a time when you must be careful about potential clashes of ego. The energies of this transit can be very ruthless and strike with great force or violence. In work, there is the potential that you may push yourself so hard to get ahead that you have a health breakdown or injury. You may also push so hard that you stir up violent and subversive opposition to your efforts. You may have defend yourself against attack, not necessarily physically, but that potential certainly exists.
http://www.astrology-x-files.com/transits/pluto-op-mars.html

Be careful about being in bad neighborhoods or in associations with shady individuals. At best there is bound to be alot of tension in the people around you. It is also best to avoid confrontations with authority figures, especially the police or military. This is a time when they might be on a power trip.

additionally, T Uranus next year middle April and end September 2012 will conj natal mars and IC/home roots. so expect some upheavals in family/home

Thanks for you lengthy reply.

The thing I'm worried about is that despite Pluto transiting my Ascendant for the past 2 years I haven't made any changes in my life. Yes I started a new job but I'm essentially the same anxious guy with low self esteem who defines himself by his stutter. Nothing has changed.

Is there any optimism in the short term? Will I ever get to a stage where I can feel 'normal' again?

It's like asking me how long is a piece of string? what's normal for you won't be normal for me or anyone else.I'm a rather spiritual person and would suggest that before you were born you discussed the *Lessons* you wanted to acheive in this lifetime and how best you could achieve this with this natal chart.

You could try asking a horary question in that forum, by posting a chart and asking a question with yes or no answer but first you need to learn few basics and at least attempt an interpretation as horary is inundated with silly questions and senior members get very frustrated....

Re: I've hit rock bottom

The biggest common theme in your chart is patience. You have Moon Squares Pluto (control!), Sun Opposes Mars (do it now!), and Neptune is involved in the mix to make it all a T-Square ("Oh, where were we? Who am I, again??") ... even then, you have Saturn-Uranus Conjunction in that T-Square as well if you so allow a compassionately sized orb ("Everything I ever had, or everything I was ever known for in the world, is taken from me.... rapidly, and fast, and sudden... and I had NO time to reflect on what just happened!!! EVER.") So it's like this gigantic ball of "I need my place, oh my God... help me, o, Lord! I cannot find my place, help help help...." and it never becomes about just enjoying the fact that you're alive LONG enough to start pulling in some energies towards you that are fused with Spirit and connecting to people soul-to-soul, because the set-up is fused into the Ego mind and constantly playing the same line: "What will others think of me?" This is a tricky one!

Saturn-Uranus is ground-breaking material. Perhaps you should count your situation as a blessing because it could lead to research some possibilities as to why it occurs and offer a lot to the world "at large" (which, we understand Saturn deals with the community) and in this case specifically: in the medical community itself. See also that Jupiter in Gemini (teaching) is located in the 6th House (subservience, submission of Jupiterean "greatness", and a symbol for educating those in the medical field). So, really, you've come here in this lifetime to be a teacher. You're here to serve. You will be noted for your achievements, you will have achieved quite a great deal of accomplishments for your "mind", for your acquisition of knowledge (Sun in 9th, Moon in Aquarius over 2nd House--- material achievements for mental pursuits, since Aquarius is an Air Sign)... Sun at an Anaretic Degree, so achievements come later than sooner, so you have to AGAIN be patient with what's happening and PACE YOURSELF... even if you told me you didn't have a stuttering problem, I'd say PACE YOURSELF. But the Jupiter in Gemini of 6th House gives it away to me the most: a teacher who is working on his own lessons: learning patience with himself. Part of the stutter, ... and this is just my intuitive vibe mixed with what I'm saying in the chart,... is that you're facing this because you've been bombarded with messages of "Do it, now!!!" and being constantly on your best, and being asked to "look like someone of greatness"... being given constant reprimand after reprimand without any good time to REFLECT on what you may have done poorly at.... let alone GOOD at!!!! LOL It feels like you are constantly on-the-go... I mean,... did your parents move around a lot, or were you faced with some abnormal childhood experiences that had you sort of "out there" and floating from place to place and never RESTING within your own home??......... so, perhaps scheduling yourself some time to reflect would "ease" (maybe not completely make-go-away) your stuttering episodes.

Now, you tell ME,... WHO at your job currently can actually say they've committed themselves to 10 years to such an INTERESTING and peculiar lifestyle that could potentially become a ground-breaking catalyst in the scientific/medical community. They're doing research that shows strange things happening in the connection between the left and right hemispheres of the brain, even. I half-wonder if they're going to find some sort of cure or "fix" in your lifetime yet. Or don't they already? I feel like they put some nodes of electric current in this woman's brain and she was immediately cured of her stuttering up to 95% of the time. Maybe I'm imagining that, but I feel like it was on one of them health TV shows.

Astrologically, you can determine triggers and whatnot ----- e-mail me some specific time periods when you've had like the WORST episodes... and then list off all the times when you haven't had as many episodes with your stuttering, and let's see if we can't back-track and find what the coinciding astrological triggers are?? And maybe that way, we can anticipate the periods of stress and come up (between you and me) with a plan here. Your stuttering may actually be YOUR unique form of detecting ******** --- for example, who were you talking with? Did someone say something right off the bat that "got you going"?? Maybe someone pulled a particular nerve with you that signaled, "This dude's an a-hole... start stuttering..." I'm totally serious -- I mean, intuitively, people feel vibrations differently... some people feel it in their back and neck... some people feel tension in their chest... some people feel it in their stomach... some people raise their eyebrows and smile a lot or laugh things off nervously.... this could be your one-of-a-kind way of being an intuitive person.

Highly annoying? Yes. But,... E-mail me, let's look at this further.

Re: I've hit rock bottom

Thanks for the awesome response. Not all grood news but I do appreciate taking the time to answer my questions. I'll just start off by replying to a couple of your questions:

- My family did not move around a lot at all. My family has been great and I can't recall any 'abnormal' childhood experiences. I feel up to the age of 12 I was a very outgoing kid who had no problems with fluency and I loved people and loved life. Ever since I went to high school and was a bullied a little bit I lost all confidence in myself and its there where my stutter appeared and its been getting worse ever since. My stuttering varies in severity depending on where I am and who I'm talking to. I virtually cannot speak on the phone without 20 second blocks in speech and I'm really bad at talking to pretty much anyone who isnt in my family or in my close circle of friends. For some reason I am ok at public speaking and job interviews which makes no sense at all lol. I know that there is no reason to be scared of people, and I should just be more patient. But it feels like I can't seem to buy into these concepts because my stuttering just makes me so **** frustrated.

Its weird how you were able to describe exactly what I feel is going on in my head. But its also depressing to know how the planets are positioned in such a bad way that will apparently make it extremely hard for me to overcome these problems. Whenever I am in social situations I just feel like there is this intense force is working against me and is compelling me to act in a very anxious and non-fluent way, and those wretched Tsquares seem to be the problem.

What hurts the most is that because of these problems I have I feel I am missing out on so much in my life. I'm in my early 20s right now and I should be going out a lot, having girlfriends, and just having fun. But my life couldn't be more different. I'm very lonely and my speech barrier just leaves me watching people from afar. What makes it worse is that I feel deep down that I have such a vibrant personality that I want to show to everyone but these other 'forces' are just not allowing me to do it. This constant pull in different directions has driven me to a point of insanity especially over the last few years. I know I'm funny, I know I'm interesting (as I am with my family and my few close friends) but I just cannot show this side of my personality to the wider public.

I just hope things will start turning around for me. For the past year and a half pluto has been conjunct with my ascendant and although this should mean that there have been MAJOR changes in my life I have seen none. I am the same exact person. That's the hardest part, knowing that i was wrong 2-3 years ago when I thought that things would at least be a little bit better by age 22. I really hope it won't be like this at 25 and beyond.

It was good to know that 'Saturn-Uranus' means that I am destined to teach people. I've always vowed that if I were to able to get over my problems I would help others who are going through the same. I just hope that it won't take me 20 years to get to this point...I am an accountant so I don't see how I'm gonna make breathroughs in the medical community but anything is possible I guess.

How does the short term future look for me? And are you able to see what I should do to get myself on the road to recovery. I don't care if it takes 10 years, I just want to be on the right track. I've recently started meditating and I hope that this will help me at least a little bit with my problems.

Again, thanks so much for your help. Sorry if this post went for too long. It just feels good to just vent like that every now and then.

Jupiter in gemini is in it's *detriment* even though having easy aspects, placed in 6th could suggest service or health industries, but would not have though 'teacher' per se..Gemini tends to know a little bit about a lot, but not a lot about anything in great depth

Saturn-Uranus is ground-breaking material
these two *really really, don't get along**
One wants freedom and independence and whilst conj Asc could suggest you can be a bit of a rebel on occasions, being conj Saturn (which will always get the upper hand) says hold on here, we can't go out and party all night as we have work next day..When Saturn and Uranus fall in the same sign or house we get caught in a cleft stick, wanting to make changes but fearing to let go of the old.

Pluto in 11th House - succeedent
· Loner. Not lonely ‑ but aware you are alone. Very few intimate friends.
· Friends will bend your ear ‑ because they know you are good at keeping secrets.
· Lost friends through death
· Won't ask favours from friends.
· Not powerfully placed here.
· Reformist tendencies expressed in friendships and groups or will attract powerful friends.
· Great leadership qualities
Pluto is also a *singleton* this CAN suggest transformation through friends, groups, hopes and wishes provided you take control of this power and use this to transform yourself..

Re: I've hit rock bottom

It does seem like I have a lot of bad aspects in my natal chart and even the one or two things that Simplyinsight said you quickly dashed. So is there anything for me to look forward to? Any recovery on the horizon? Or am I doomed to a lifetime of low self esteem and stuttering? I think that Pluto is conjunction with my Ascendant right now. Is there any opportunity for me to make changes in these aspects of my life?

Every chart has some challenging aspects and easy aspects, that's what makes us individuals. there will always be 'tests' and problems in life that we ALL have to go through. Knowing and learning about astrology, may help you understand why we all go through certain stages in our life, but it's not going to change YOU. only you can change you and that's the point, you are the captain of your ship, no one else. Recognising that you may be having a challenging transit can give you the 'light at the end of a tunnel' explanation and something to look forward to even..

You can get a free six month transit forecaste from astro.com called, short report....

Dear Govind, please do not think that everybody will look at you the way you seem to look at yourself. I am sure you have not alienated yourself from your collegues. You are YOU with or without stuttering and people will accept you the way you are. Just believe in that and in yourself. Those collegues and others who are not capable of doing that still have to learn a lot in life. I also told you about that movie "The King" and I hope you did go and see it. There is nothing wrong with you, you have a good brain and are capable of concentrating on your thoughts (Neptune, ruler of 3 in Capricorn.).
Pluto will most certainly help you with the transition you will go through.

Best wishes, Starlink

Govind, I did have a look at progressions and things dont look "bad" at all. You constantly say "my bad aspects". There is no such thing as a bad aspect Govind, believe me. There are aspects which will be more difficult to deal with, which need more attention and input from us. I am happy for the squares in my chart (Pluto square Sun and Moon!!) otherwise I would probably have turned out a lazy female bum! (Sun in Taurus is not the most active seeking Sun. Thank God my Venus is in a more assertive sign, Aries, but then again, it is weak there).
What you have written here:

Any recovery on the horizon? Or am I doomed to a lifetime of low self esteem and stuttering?
is really not a possitive way of looking at your life and yourself. What Simply insight wrote:

just enjoying the fact that you're alive LONG enough to start pulling in some energies towards you that are fused with Spirit and connecting to people soul-to-soul, because the set-up is fused into the Ego mind
is very very true.

You see, we people look a certain way from the outside as you know. We form our own ideas about other people (our ego). But in reality we are all a piece of a giant spiritual cake, we are all connected in spirit, so on the soul level, we are all kind, loving, understanding, divine if you like. Try therefore to connect with the soul of others instead of what your ego tells you about them. This will take the fear away of communicating with them. You do not seem to really like yourself, so you think that others wont like you either. On the other hand, you recognize this vibrant young man inside yourself. You know what they say: what you give out, you will receive. You give out fear and others will feel this and will therefore also tend to have a "fear", (subconsciously of course), to approach you. This then is seen by you as rejection of you. Start trying to show that other side of you and see what will happen.

OK, enough of this and on to your progr. chart.

First of all, look at your natal planets. Two of them are mighty strong: Mars and Pluto, both in their own sign. Pluto rules your house of hopes and wishes, Mars rules your early upbringing, showing a good childhood.
The North Node, in traditional astrology very important, is in your 3rd house of communication (a positive indication) and only receives good aspects, one of them a sextile with your Part of Fortune in your house of selfexpression (5th). Your 3rd house of communications, ruled by Neptune (modern)is placed in your 1st house, conj. your Ascendant in Capricorn and again, I agree with Simply insight that this definitively points to you wanting to express yourself (first house) in a teaching capacity. Jupiter (traditional ruler of 3), is placed in your 6th and only receives great aspects from Sun, Moon and that strong Mars of yours. A Grand Trine which involves your MC as well. I consider Jupiter as ruler of Pisces/Jupiter in the 6th a good placement as Pisces and the 6th house of service to others go well together. It strenghtens Jupiter, despite the fact that it is in it's sign of detriment. It is in term of it's ruler Mercury (traditionally again) and Mercury itself in term of that strong Mars of yours. By the way, Mars retrograde shows aggression/anger, directed inwards! Try not to be too harsh on yourself and forgive yourself for not accepting yourself for who you are. Instead, try to accept yourself completely. Meditation on this will help you.

Progressed Moon is right now in your 12th and sextiles your natal Pluto. Apart from having transiting Pluto hovering around your Ascendant, this aspect hightens your emotional feelings strongly. Also Progr. Moon sextiles natal Moon!! Pluto is all about inner transformation which will sometimes be helped by outer circumstances or otherwise by extreme feelings of restlessness, unhappiness, feeling unfulfilled etc. which then slowly come to a boiling point and when triggered by other transits or progressions, will erupt and bring about the changes you long for. Often these changes are accompanied by having to let go of things, people or old habits, familiar things which actually do not play a positive role in your life anymore. You have to cut ties with Pluto. This is painful but at the same time creates a feeling of enormous freedom and happiness (eventually).
With Progr.Moon in the 12th your consciousness will dwell on doom and gloom, but only if this is your inclination!!! The best use of this placement is to develop your inner strengths and to get in touch with your subconscious mind. The possibility to do so is exactly now, with this placement of the Moon. Digging deeper into your psyche (and that aspect with Pluto will help) will give you greatest opportunity for self-development.
Now, the placement of Progr. Moon in Saggitarius may make you feel idealistic and adventurous and you could philosophically justify all experiences as a learning process.
It is actually a good placement for your Moon.

Progressed MC has entered the sign of Scorpio (1°), quite a bit more powerful than when it was in Libra at birth. With ruler in own sign as well as traditional ruler Mars, also in own sign, this is positive. This progr. MC also sextiles your natal Ascendant. This MC sign changement could well show the ending of old situations in job and status and the start of another other, new situation. Especially with tr.Pluto in your 1st house and near your Ascendant. Transiting Pluto will go direct on Sept. 16. He will not retrograde any further than 4°53, so it's heaviest influence will slowly diminish from then onwards. Nevertheless it will be in your 1st house for a very long time which can give you far more personal power, also in speech as it will conjunct Neptune, ruler of your 3rd house, as well as transforming the way you are going to express yourself verbally.

Transiting Uranus at approx. 3° Aries is squaring your Ascendant, another indication of change (this one more outward) but also giving you the obvious urge to want to change, and maybe also move to another location.

About your speech impediment. 3rd house. Transiting Neptune at 29° Aquarius, a critical degree, will soon change direction, going direct, on the 8th of November and enter definitively into it's own sign on February 4th 2012. You will feel much better regarding expressing yourself from then onwards as it will not only conjunct your 3rd house cusp but also because it is in it's own sign.

Transiting Mercury (trad. ruler of all 3rd house activities) will go direct in 2 days and will also enter it's own sign on Sept.10th of this year.

The New Moon at 5° Virgo on August 29 shows a beginning of some learning process (conjunct 9th house) which could help you with your problem as it also sextiles your Chiron. The New Moon after this one will conjunct your MC, showing another possible new start regarding your career and social circumstances.

I have to stop now, this is becoming too long. Any questions I can answer you via PM.
